To be fair, it does say VIRUS in huge letters like that so
But yeah I think most of the stuff that is posted here is checked by the moderators as well so as long as you either wait a few hours before using the link or use a reliable anti-virus website to test the link for you, you should not have much of a problem. Most of the stuff that injects into a game to do translations gets flagged as false positive for virus.
Note: I also use ReiPatcher, it is not a virus and I have already completed the game using it.
