Hope that the first game and this one gets translated too. The voice acting for the series was amazing, and still beats all the modern hentai today. The screams of the magical girls sound really realistic and were very well done.

Actually, are there even public tools to extract and replace the text for these games? Im guessing someone in JP probably did it a long time ago but im not sure.

With AI these days, how hard would it be to feed the text to an AI and get a semi-decent translation? Ive used google gemini to translate JP manga before and it is really good at doing that. You need to edit the sentence for nuance and grammar, but it is understandable. There are some errors when it is unable to recognize a non-standard font though.

I took a look, it's just a matter of a getting the scripts out of the script.arc archive, translating them and then repacking them, so it's terribly easy.
Using AI could work but not without extra guard rails to be sure it didn't mess with the scripting. But if you wish to go that route, it might be easier and faster to just use some tool to translate at runtime. I don't really use Textractor and the like anymore, I'm sure there must be better alternative nowadays.

I havent looked into this for more than a decade, but the last time i tried, the best text hooker solution was a tool that would create a extra window and display MTL text, and it was very awkward because you had to look at both the game window and the seperate output window. And the quality of the MTL text was terrible.
