Any tips for getting started? Think figured out where to go [cave to right of village] and got the lantern to actually see [village innkeeper at night] but unless it's a major grindfest to get strong enough just you alone isn't good enough and can't figure out how to get party members.

There's an option in the game settings to outright skip all battles. It doesn't skip encounters, but you don't have to fight them.
Also, tips for getting started and you got the lantern? I'm running a MTL and from what I gather, the lantern is end game material.

Playing this game and having trouble getting the lantern. Can I also get the ice magic girl as a party member?

Here is an MTL.

HEADS UP I haven't finished the game so make sure to copy the original data folder in-case u run into unavoidable bug. also i have seen 2 skills so far that crash the game so save often before fights (one of them is the "One-two" skill for MC).

if ur character sprite turns invisible just do an etch scene and he will reappear.
