open with notepad and look for:

Window_Base.prototype.standardFontSize = function() {
return 28;

and change the 28 to 26 or 25. 26 is right on the edge imo and 25 still feels good. i've read that those games have a hard limit of 24 units so you shouldn't drop it below that. hope it helps.
