Well there's a game called broken dreams correctional facility that's pretty good has mods and the developer doesn't use patreon...though mind you it is a furry game but considering you're playing this that shouldn't be a problem.

Yes and no, the game does have a mod downloader, but as far as I can tell it doesn't update automatically from the Discord, where mods are first posted and updated. Check that out for the latest versions.

Soon™. The second Pheadra dungeon is what they're working on right now, having just finished the first one six or so months ago. The scope of the game was shrank recently, Phaedra is now the last main planet (there were supposed to be 10 main worlds), so there's just this dungeon and I think a final dungeon for the story left. I'm betting October/November, personally.
There were supposed to be 20 main worlds originally if you can believe that.

If I recall correctly, they made statements to the effect that they'd continue adding side content and such after the main planets were done, but were trying to wrap up the main story. With how dedicated their fanbase is, I could see them trying to keep things going for another few years based solely off adding random side content and trying up other loose ends like you mentioned.
