A good game in 2015. But it's 2026 (and beyond).

Update for main storyline have basically stalled. If a game spends more than a decade with little progress made, it's clearly just milking the patreon cow.

In terms of content? Yeah, there's quite some good stuff. But if you consider its decade long development, then it seems a lot less impressive. If you been in a coma since 2015 and this is the first thing you played after waking up, then 5/5.

But if you take the current landscape of nsfw text games, the decade long development, and the tons of submitted content into consideration, then the game seems terrible.

There's little art. Some of which are kinda substandard (since nobody bothered to replace old art, it remained). The writing is okay. The gameplay needs some serious work. It's simply not captivating enough.

It does have a lot content, but a little substandard by today's standard.

When I first discovered this game, it was years ago, like around 2017 to 2018. With 2026 coming up on the horizon, I think it's fair to remind everyone that this game has been in development for over a decade now having first started in 2013, and it still hasn't been completed. There are plot threads from over 10 years ago that are still just loose ends, characters that have just been abandoned, things that haven't been updated for new or even existing gameplay mechanics, and many more that I will get into.

    The Good
I think it would be fair if we got into the good first. One of the best things that this game has going for it is just the sheer variety of content to where you're bound to find something that you like. If you want vanilla, you'll find it. If you want futas with balls the size of a record breaking pumpkin, there's plenty of it. You want freaky stuff like a character with two dicks and four balls, it exists. The point is, there's content for so many fetishes or tastes that you can find, and whatever character can become your favorite. With as many characters as there are, you're spoiled for choice.

Some characters are also pretty well written, with Ben/Bess (the abandoned sexbot you can find on Tarkus), Paige (the blind half Ausar yoga instructor on Tavros Station), Chaurmine (the Saurmorian mercenary that you can find on Tarkus and later Uveto), and Fisianna (the human modded catgirl on Tavros Station) being some of my personal favorites, and some of the best written in my opinion.

Another good aspect is that they switched game engines a few years back, migrating to Java instead of continuing with Flash. There are a lot of developers who would either continue working with Flash even though it's a 20-something year old engine that can only be stretched so far, or they would just abandon the project because they don't want to make the effort to switch game engines.

    Now, time for the bad.

    The Development Time
Now, like I said earlier, this game has been in active development since 2013, meaning that as of me writing this, it's been 12 years. 12 years of development, and sure, there's a lot of content, but the main questline still isn't done yet, and I have no idea how many more planets and locations that Fenoxo plans to add before this game is considered to be done. The main questline itself really should've been completed a long time ago, with additional side content being added afterwards instead of taking up all the writers' focus like the current situation does.

But that's honestly the opposite direction that was taken. The main questline comes out at a trickle's pace; Phaedra II was introduced in 2023 with not much added, Dhaal was introduced in 2020, Zheng Shi before that in 2019, with Dhaal and Zheng Shi continuing to get more content, and Phaedra II probably won't be completed for another few years. We got Uveto fleshed out to the moon and back before the main questline was completed. We got New Texas fleshed out before the main questline was completed. We got dozens of inconsequential side characters added and fleshed out before the main questline and characters related to such was completed.

    The Dead Ends
One of the biggest dead ends in Trials in Tainted Space is the Myr questline and ending the war on Myrellion. After several years it's... still not completed, but hey, ignore this major incomplete plot thread because now we've got several more planets for you to explore and a dozen more futas for you to get fucked by! Several characters that you should be able to recruit as crew considering that you can build relationships with them? Nope, here's some new characters who you also can't have as crew either.

Another major dead end is the character of Bess/Ben. There was supposed to be more content with the character after what is the current final event where you rescue the character on Mhen'ga or New Texas. But lo and behold, the person writing Bess/Ben abandoned the character and that is it. Quite possibly one of the best written characters in the game, and abandoned.

    The Neglected Pregnancy System
The pregnancy system is also just notoriously neglected to where there are more characters who can't get pregnant/impregnate you than there are characters who can. One of the worst offenders I can think of is Vahn, the half Ausar mechanic on Tavros Station. In one of his scenes it's implied that he impregnates you, and yet since his introduction in 2015, a literal fucking decade ago, there is still no pregnancy content in the game's files for him. And I have plenty of examples that I can go on with, so let me do just that.

The male version of Lane, the Danar hypnotist on Tarkus, will tell you to get on birth control, but there's no consequence if you don't. Zaalt, Vark, the Milodan Male, Milodan Bruiser, and Milodan Amazon can all get the player pregnant, but not Eitan despite him also being a Milodan and in his bad end for the Siege of Korg'ii Hold questline, he does get you pregnant if you're fertile, but he doesn't get you pregnant after you free him after the quest and have sex with him. Lund, the Korgonne hunter at Korg'ii Hold, despite plenty of other Korgonne being able to get the player pregnant, and despite one of his scenes is taking you to a literal fucking BREEDING CAVE, can't impregnate the player even if the player is fertile. There are so many nonsensical and just outright lazy things like this to where I could keep going even further, but you get the idea.

    The Inability to Toggle Fetishes
Now, not every fetish is for everyone. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. For instance, I'm not into cumflation or anything hyper. I'm fairly certain that quite a few of you reading this would definitely like it if you could disable certain fetishes from appearing in the game, no matter what it is. Maybe some edited sprites to reflect that, some lines of code to replace certain sentences in scenes if you toggle a particular fetish off, something to that effect so that you don't have to see any content that isn't your cup of tea. Nope, you don't really get any of that; the only time you really get something like that is on Tarkus where you can disable worms, and that's pretty much it.

I mean, at least in my mind, it shouldn't even be that complex of an ask and should've been in the game from the get-go. Not everybody wants to see inflation or transformations or a species whose balls grow infinitely depending on how long it's been since they came. The fact that a simple feature like this hasn't been implemented in 12 years, and considering how many people play this game, it's honestly kind of insane to me that it's just absent.

    Conclusion
Trials in Tainted Space is an okay game, but holy shit do the people behind it make some boneheaded decisions regarding it. For every well written character, there are dozens that aren't that good at all. For every plot expansion, something gets left behind. For every new character, another old character gets forgotten and left in whatever state they were in to likely never be touched again. For every side world that gets more content, the completion of the main quest gets delayed by literal years. And with every new update, more and more loose ends just never get tied up.

Can I recommend the game? Honestly, yeah, but with one caveat; don't expect this project to really get that much better in the long run. Based on the last 12 years of work that's been put into the game, and with everything I listed, the people behind this game don't really seem to care about any of the old stuff they made and finishing what they started, only the new and the shiny. It's like they just keep adding more and more things to an essay, adding a whole lot of filler to pad it out before even getting to the point, and spending way too much time on it before they turn it in to the teacher.

Last time I was genuinely excited for any updates involving TiTS was when they announced the 4th and newest class. A psychic PC, after so many encounters with characters that used space magic, so many dialogues that ended up being "I'd love to teach you, but you couldn't learn", so many NPCs that had it as their main gimmick- some of which I quite enjoyed.
It has been quite a while since the class dropped, and, as far as I'm aware, there's still nothing to distinguish it from the other classes through dialogue.
In fact, in many cases its less rewarding, as there's several points where various classes can skip difficult or annoying encounters or puzzles, where the psychic class has to slog through every part of the game that you had before, only to see that it was all for basically nothing.
Phaedra II dropped 2 years ago. As of time of writing, the new content it has received since is 1 story encounter, 4 NPCs, and 5 repeatable enemy encounters. The planet has, after 2 years, barely surpassed the short tutorial station in terms of content.
Obviously, the game is quite large, and you can play for easily 20 hours without getting that bored, yet once you play a second character, or even a third, you can very quickly start to see where the game starts to fall apart. "New" content is completely unpolished, most dungeons are more interesting than the latest planets, and overall the progress on the development has shifted from trying to tell story to milking the patreons for more money.

I have been following this game for what feels like a decade now. It has come a long way, but also has stagnated a lot. Gave it a replay recently and there has been no progress in the main story from what I can tell whatsoever. Lots of new sex scenes involving oversized bimbos, but thats about it.
A new combat class is nice, however it barely makes any impact on the game. As in, enemy psyonics are still just as "mysterious" as they have been 5 years ago when I played the game. Even though im using the psyonic class myself. I guess they have some detailing left to do.

Overall, this is a very average game with lots of content which I dont enjoy. If you like banging herm furries with balls, asses and tits bigger than their torso, go for it. Thats like 90% of the character. Good ol CoC feels a lot more diverse in comparison.
I wish they worked on the main story so that I could finish it and move on with my life.

I couldn't say enough good about this when I played it more, supported (monetarily) for a while, and kept up with it.

These days I'm just in the camp of "when is this finishing?" now, as it's been years where it feels like the main story has gone no where. It's just adding in some side character someone tossed in for a 15 minute side quest, to fulfill someone's kink that has increasingly more tentacles, tails, and lips slapped on wherever they will fit.

It felt interesting back when it was a few places, new Texas thrown in, and it felt like there was some story. Now it's just "What main story?" and ADHD kinks that are becoming more "Like it or skip it" so there is less of what used to be there are more just all over the place craziness. The original Corruption of Champions had all the transformations stuff but this is kind of all the game is it feels like, and the story is buried under it, which makes no sense for a TEXT BASED game, to have given up on the story telling part.

Perhaps for newer players to this game it's flashy, but I've been around since the first Corruption of Champions, when this game was announced. It's gotten past interesting as it's spinning wheels for years, and we are almost to a decade so now it just feels like "Milking it" and lost the interesting space game vibe. And to be blunt, the "text game" craze kinda ended about when this game came out as it was, so now it's just odd they don't give it the proper ending it deserved 4 years ago.

I have played this game on-and-off for years. Years. I don't want to say "let that sink in" because those that have followed development of this game have already let it sink in too deep.

I can't say that this game is "one of a kind" because we've already seen Corruption of Champions or CoC before this and... It was the same story just told through a different prism of time and resources. This game is largely similar in terms of pacing when it comes to changes and updates, largely the same in terms of content and fetishes and - shockingly - largely the same in terms of literary impact.

That's where it hurts the most, to be honest. The writing is very poor. I don't want to preface it with "oh sometimes it's good" or "oh sometimes it's bad" - I'll just say it straight. It's bad. Sometimes plain awful, sometimes so inept it makes you roll your eyes and sometimes just so terrible you have to sigh. It's a text game, mainly, and - for a text game - the text is incredibly lacking in quality. It's not even the fact that it lacks narrative or lacks appropriate hooks or anything like that. Just the general state of the text is amateurish and over-indulgent to a degree that's honestly rather unparalleled.

It doesn't help that the writing is schizophrenic. By design, no less. It's not one person delivering their material and that material is sloppy - no. It's many, many people contributing to this "community" project and, as a result, the end product ends up carrying so many voices with so many variable desires and intentions that it's... Sad. Just sad and pathetic, believe it or not. So many times during my freshest playthrough I ended up thinking "Wow. I genuinely cannot believe this made the cut. Did anybody read this?.."

The porn stuff works on the surface level. Proportions and themes are so absurd that none of it has gravity (har-har, space joke). All of it starts sort of acceptable and rapidly spirals into self-embraced parody before your first hour of playing even ends. It's grotesque, inconsequential and sorely disappointing because no action you ever commit to ever translates to lasting satisfaction. Sure - you can recruit crew, you can have bodily transformations, you can even have Bad Ends (oh boy)... Though truly?.. None of it matters. The game treats crew as furniture, transformations as text dump into your character descriptions and Bad Ends as a forced waste of time/load of a save.

There isn't much to say about the "game" part of this game. Combat is terrible. I don't want to spend time qualifying why exactly because no part of it is engaging enough to do so. It's ranged/melee and lust. There is nothing about combat that is adding to your experience instead of it being a detriment.

The stats all-around are the testament to the game's accumulated bloat. Taint, libido, core stats, hidden stats with perks as gates... It's all just a shortstop for game's wikia. They might as well just make every stat, every quest, every perk a hyperlink directing you to the said wikia and replace the in-game Codex with the same link as well. It's honestly just confusing - and not in the "I'm lost" kind of sense but in the "Why is this included in the game" kind of sense instead. So many items afflict or affect stats but stats themselves alongside the XP and levelups only exist to pad time and have you wander around to soak in more meaningless encounters before you can hop to the next planet.

The main quest is less than an afterthought. "Collect probes and become the CEO" turns into "Hop planets and find probes as the end-point of those planets" and there is nothing in-between that. Nothing. No related side-quests, no motivation, no communication between you and the company that would be relevant to this quest. How do shareholders feel about this whole ordeal? Where's the rest of your family? How does every probe advance you within the infrastructure of the company? None of it matters and none of it comes up. The game doesn't care because the game wants to boast yet another NPC that's been coded and written by some semi-random person and the game's artist has produced a good enough bust for this NPC, so... So how about an update?! It's a sad, sad joke.

The game also just never improves. You'd think that by the time you reach your 5th planet or so that the quest layout would be more clear. That the outcomes would be more outlined. That the rewards you'd get or miss out on would be better telegraphed. That the minigames you play would announce the point that they serve. It never happens. It's equally as baffling as it is clear - baffling since it's purposeful incompetence and clear because competence is not required.

All in all - TiTS is an interesting experience with lots of content for those willing to waste a lot of time in-between some enjoyment but ultimately it's just a very poor game with very poor writing and no goal or end in sight. Even if there is an end quite soon or if it ever happens - the game will still be middling at best. It's best when it doesn't pretend to be anything but a grotesque reliquary of porn and it's worst when it tries to be a game and have any kind of structure. Which is - to say - the game is always disappointing.

    Love this game
I'd love to see more characters and more open dialogs something that isn't set to one specific choice or the other that leads down a path where your locked in .
I love the slight visuals u get and the openness of customization for the character you control.
I'd love to see children u have created grow up and given options to take them and use them breed raise etc .
I just started playing free cities not to long ago and they use a similar thing where children u create can come back later and be bought .

I would not have imagined I would give this such a high rating before getting lost in it. I previously enjoyed both fantasy Fenoxo games, Corruption of Champions 1 & 2, and initially thought I would enjoy the sci-fi one almost as much. In the end though I thought this one was the best value one, and one of the most rewarding games I've played.

To those reading this who have not played Fenoxo games - these are in browser text-heavy lewd adventure RPGs, with medium-complexity gameplay mechanics, expansive maps to explore, tons of menus and a huge roster of characters to interact with. Art is limited mainly to sprites for those you encounter. The unique hook is that the games are collaborative projects contributed to by many writers, so there is a huge amount of content.

A note on the type of porn game this is. As a sandbox you can find almost any type of sexual dynamic and act somewhere in the world - although generally the tone is quite light so nothing really dark or violent - although often featuring elements of D/s. Within that wide spectrum there is, however, a big focus on body transformation, on non-human body parts, and on gallons of cum sloshing around, on pregnancy, and on dicks. The games are not especially hetero, with a wide array of sexualities.

So with that summary, what would be my commentary? The gameplay is genuinely fun - I enjoy the combat, the exploration, the rpg mechanics... There are quite a few quality of life elements. The main story, although dwarfed by side content, is perfectly good. So on its own terms it's a fun game.

On the sex side... Its ostensibly strange for me to rate it so highly. I don't really like the transformation elements, and played through as a normal human. I don't particularly like the very non-human elements, and I generally didn't focus on that in most of the sexual encounters - unless very relevant, like the addictive cum, saliva and oil one encounters. I think the focus on fluids is a bit much and although I like a woman with a cock as much as the next person I think they somewhat outnumber cis women and squeeze them out a little in this world. Nevertheless...

I can look past it all. Many of the sexual relationships with the different characters are very hot, with a variety of sexual scenes. Whatever dynamic you like there with be several characters that suit you, and many that will lean the way you want. Most have decently written personalities, with the best characters having the most build up - and you yourself are a storied and customised character. It adds depth to the interactions as the sex scense are often affected by many variables. Across the board the erotic writing quality is generally high and some of the interactions with some characters are some of the best stuff I've read. Combined with the good gameplay this delivery of exactly what I want at points in the game raise my rating to excellent.

Honestly I only gave this game a chance because I didn't know what else to play and it kept popping up, I thoroughly enjoyed it and come back every so often. This was my first text based game, I hadn't even thought of transformation or half the other kinks in the game until I played TiTs. Only thing is you might want to use the wiki for help from time to time as there is a lot in the game.

this game starts off decent when you first experience everything but quickly turns into you having 3 penises and boobs while you read the same sex text over and over. grindy as fuck for no nut. updates for no good reason to update. same game it always was

Even though its not fully finished this is an amazing game. The granularity of character creation is amazing, the sci fi themes and elements are varied and fun. The tone is generally very light with moments of seriousness that pairs well with the style of game this is. Combat is a bit simple and honestly kind of not very interesting but it can effectively be made optional if you don't want it at all. There's just so much heart and effort put on display here with a ton of kinks to be explored. Honestly the only real downsides are that the variation in character creation means its hard for the writing to account for your character in every way so some scenes can be a bit disjointed. Otherwise the text can be a bit lengthy when it doesn't need to be, I think being more efficient with scene length could help the pacing of the game a lot. Still overall an amazing experience.

I can't say that I particularly enjoy the actual gameplay portions of this. The puzzles are kinda finicky, and the maps are just a bunch of squares I always get lost in. And the combat is just finding the one quirk that obliterates everyone.

But when you can bad end in this game by making your dick too big, does it really matter?

If you're into more vanilla love stuff, this game is not going to be for you.
If you at least curious on reading a orgy with foot long dicks and x cup titties, then I recommend it quite a lot. I can't say all the content in it is my cup of tea, but when it comes to kinky stuff, this game is probably the best 'written' in terms of the smut itself.

(Psst, just cheat the stats if you need to.)

I was having some fun reading and setting up, then the game started and I was like, yeah, This IS pretty fun. After a bit of fighting some Big dragon er, women and bribing the well endowed tiger boy, there was a light switch minigame where you need to light them all up to progress.
Welp, after 4 different attempts at trying it. I have concluded that it is to much for my smoothbrain to manage, I can only imagine once I run into the eventual sliding block puzzle.

I REALLY want to love this game. And it's a close deal. I love the world building, I love the concept behind the plot, I love the gameplay loop, and I love at of the characters and their backstory.

But there's just too many sour spots in the game for me. It's painfully shallow in some area's, and I think it could really use a year or more of just improving what's already there instead of adding more bells and whistles. Also, while there is a lot of content, a lot of it revolves around fairly similar fetishes, so you better hope your're into them. Finally, the art style. This is just my preference, but It's just too much. Everyone has such wildly inflated proportions that it just completely takes me out of the game.

TiTs is an incredible concept that I think is diluted by an overreliance on hyper-kinky content, insane proportions, and intense fetishes compared to just making a kinky, fun game where you fight and fuck aliens in space.

Though i am way too vanilla to actually enjoy 95% of the game's porn content, i find the game to relatively successfully immerse you into steele. I really did feel that eunah steele was a temporarily-short-on-funds billionaire intergalactic playgirl and all that came with it. Somewhere between an age of sail explorer(cough captain kirk) and john mcafee. Gameplay was a lot more fun than CoC, which you probably heard about. People would think going int on a mercenary for RP is dumb but the boost on grenade damage clutched several fights for example. So there's some build variety. Customization wise you can become anything but it's uncertain if the game will respond to whatever you just became. Your mileage may vary but this is the sandbox be anything do lots of things rpg.

Sadly it seems to have inflated the balloon so much that it can pop at any moment. Adding any depth to a puddle this wide seems to be difficult and i am uncertain this game will get much better even with years of development. So don't hold your breath.

    Great potential, Poor execution.

Imagine twenty different horses pulling a cart in twenty random directions. o_O Quests are varied, but then many of them feel unfinished. Trials is an erotic Sci/Fi fantasy sandbox that's packed with easter eggs & call backs to COC. (y) I love the exaggerated OPTIONAL bimbo bodies.

You can breed with ant-morphs like Phylla. This time there is a never ending war between 2 different species of ant women. The story line goes nowhere. Personally, I wish that the writers would tie up
loose ends before working on a new world.

Another NPC was dumped into a fairly cool Pirate base. She's a drugged up, mutant rabbit assassin who has a bad ass look & is quite a challenge. Apparently, we'll never see the end of her story.

Also, I wish the Main Character could bad end certain NPCs or at Least have a disable option for filtering out annoying encounters. The Stun Lock mice gang were finally nerfed. Right now, Trials is a randomly edited Anthology of Anthro-Erotica. I'm hoping that some one takes the helm starts crafting a coherent plot for the game.

It's a very ambitious text adventure game.
You'll always play the role of lover than fighter in the story despite the pretense to be an asshole,
It will never be too cruel or touch on touchy subject that considered taboo,
so no-matter the expectation it always come a bit short, which just lose the charm of unregulated galaxy of STD's

What I really like from text adventure game is that your equipment does translate to the story,
unlike most case where they are just key item or stat buffer, really makes you appreciate the small detail they put here and there.

Peak Giga Chad power fantasy story line need to be earn, hope this help:
    1. Start with Half-kuitan background for Nukie Nut perk (can be alternative with implant)
    2. Drink Amazona Drink to the point of having it's perk
    3. Get treated, preferably as Amazon
    4. After acquiring the last treated-Amazon perk, drink a shit ton of Amazonia drink to the point of OD for it's last boon
    5. When the treatment is done, Cut all of your breast and woman endowment in Mehengga
    6. And just inject an unholy amount of Man-Up to compensate the lack of masculinity from all those time.
If done right, you end up with amazing body build, phallic rod, inhuman production speed, and infinite stamina for reproduction.
You'll walk the earth leaving pile of body drowning in white ooze for every encounter.

I know it's Smut, but sometimes, drowning among the pool of sin, you just want to be loved.
No sex, pure vanilla and just exploring the world it present,
which will lock you on most encounter and character of the game.
Because surprise, the story revolve around sex.

Can't I have a fist bump, high five, or a common ground?
The live of billionaire is something i could only imagine in my wildest dream and all they do is steer the world into one path they walk on, kinda lonely...

This game has just a ton of fetishes, but since i played almost only as a femboy bottom i'm gonna review it from that perspective.

First off the game provides you with easy tools to customize your character, for example body proportions, face, sex, species or personality AND over the course of the game you will be confronted with various consumables, enemies or NPCs that change those aspects and even more.
You can grow different tails, extra penises, become a centaur and much more, and all of that is optional with adjusted dialogue.

There are a wide range of NPCs and followers that can join you as permanent companions, also many storylines and quests related to those NPCs and followers. Combat is good, you have difficulty options that you can adjust at any time so it should never be frustrating to play. As for actual combat options, you have different classes that rely on different stats with unique passives and skills which become more the higher you level goes.

This game also features a huge amount of images for the characters, which makes it a lot easier to imagine them. There is also a corruption system that affects the characters in physical and mental ways, like the drug called "Dumbfuck" which makes you really horny but the more you cum while under the effect of it the more your IQ drops.

I probably forgot to mention a lot about this game but the amount of content is just really huge. Also i think most if not all sex scenes are optional making it possible to just interact with your own kink.

The development time is a red flag for some, but i think considering you get this game for free and it being fairly high quality for what it is, i do not see why that should be a turn off.

In a distant future. Genemods are widely available and boy do sex sell! You can be anything: A 2m tall chinese man with 4 dongs, an anthro dog with tits and self-lubricating nipples, a literal semen-demon, a centaur/robot hybrid with 13 rows of boobs, a bimbo butterfly, or just a combination of everything - a cumming, spewing menace to society made entirely out of cocks, boobs, balls and orifices. Its grrrrrreat! (Ghandhi - 1930)

The main comlaint I see people have here is mostly these 3
    1. Lack of direction
Fair, more chefs, bigger mess (Norwegian saying)

    2. No moderation. Too big boobs, butts, cocks, etc.
Why in the world would people have any form of moderation in this kind of future? There are actual syringes that instantly turn you into a bimbo that would put your mom to shame. You can buy bigger-butt-juice in a normal soda can. Everything is hypersexualized. Moderation makes little sense. If you dont like it, go to literally any other game thats trying to be even slightly realistic.

    3. Futas
I love them. The developers seem to love them. The other fans seem to love them. Why there are so many of them? Well, who wouldnt want to be on the right side on a meat stick once in a while. In this future its possible, even easy. One pill (or synthsheathe) and BOOM, you got a whole new and different way of creaming your pants.

(The game also leans heavily on the dom/sub sub/dom strugglesnuggle genre, and its just easier to fuck someone silly if you got your own bitchbreaker).

If you dont like the ideas of dicks being pointed in your direction, youre gonna have to either avoid the game or play like the first time you joined your grandpa in the public sauna: Eyes closed, slightly disgusted, but happy to be there. There were no towel policy in the sauna, and there is no towel policy in space
