I just wanted to take my time and complain about a specific trope, not genre, of porn games: The slutty friend.
Does this sound familiar?
There is a shy/wierd woman, usally a teen or lonely housewife/ single mother. She clearly has sexual feelings for the MC, but is scared of the idea. She and the MC grow close and a bond begins to form. You start forming a relationship as she opens up to the MC, maybe even things start getting a bit physical.
BOOM! Incomes the slutty friend. She basically takes control of the whole relationship, pushes the shy girl along. Making her leave her comfort zone. Maybe she manipulates one or both of you, maybe she straight up forces things to happen.
You can likely think of several games where this exists can't you? I feel like it is a wasted oportunity and just an example of how shit porn writing is. I remember playing Fatherly Love, and although i'm generally not into father-daughter relationships, I thought it was really cute and I was enjoying it. Along comes slutty aunt and sister. Who straight up blindfolds the MC and has him fuck his daughter. Pushing their relationship several levels. At that moment the game had lost all appeal to me. It became just another harem incest game.
Look, I understand these are porn games. They are not noble prize winning stories, nor do I expect them to be. Yet, I'm pretty confident several of the devs who work on some games with this very same trope generally care about their games, characters and story. Despite this, why do they insist on throwing out decent storylines and any possibility of allowing the characters to do things themselves, grow and form decent relationships? I can think of a few games with loads of sex scenes in which they didn't add the slutty character to destroy everything, and those games are generally good! Whats worse, most of the time the shy character is a main character, while the slutty one being a side character.
Mao from Ecchi Sensei is consistently among the fan favorite characters in the devs little popularity poll. She is compared to many slutty girls who had sex early on. Yet because her story was allowed to grow without anyone on the outside forcing the issue, she became a really great charac ter I am always happy to see get screen time because of it.
While I do prefer teens over MILFS most of the time (unless you throw in mother-son relationships), and I am one of the people who complains about NTR, plus I happen to enjoy harem games and the virginty tag. I do not believe every girl in the game have to be pure virgins. Nor do they have to be shy, or young, or inexperienced or whatever. I am totally cool with slutty, or sexually open girls in games. I just don't understand why devs insist on adding the slutty trope alongside the innocent trope? Especially if the innocent girl is a main character, while the slutty one just gets thrown in to force the story to progress faster. It really bugs me.
