VN - Ren'Py - True Husband [v1.0] [Snowstorm]

I just couldent get into the story and i just hated MCs 12 year old mindset, it also dident help that i hated the wife, i will never understand why devs would make a game with some extremly ugly bimbo wife with huge saggy tits in a game where its more about the smol girl, maybe some people are into everything but im just not one of those types.

It talks about choices and how you deside stuff on front page but when it comes to the wife you dont deside anything, cant say no to sex scenes or dump her ass, so game was a huge turn-off stright from the start and the one who has the most sex scenes is the wife, so if your here for the smols just move on to the next game, but if your into the bimbo type you might like this one and you can say no to smols unlike the bimbo.

Also the "its up to you to deside" issue makes little to no sense, if it was up to me to deside this game would have only have been 5 mins long due to game-over "choices"...

Which is the most idiotic part, so many choices leads to game-overs which makes you wonder why even put them in to start with, they serve 0 purpose for the game other then being annoying and stupid.

Story also makes little to no sense at times, like letting the wife and Becky go back to a bastard ex-boyfriend by them selfs just to spend alone time with Alice?.....i mean its not like that ex-boyfriend couldent over power the 2 girls, and thats another issue, just to much porn logic.

Story is also very kinetic since nothing you do really change anything when it comes to main story, all you can change is fuck xxx yes/no and thats about it.

The art it self is ok, nothing special and nothing you havent seen a million times before, same goes for the overall story that has nothing new.

Girls look ok, but again nothing special, same goes for animations they are average.

The models looks really nice, and the step daughter is cute, i would like to be able to edit her age. i liked the story so far, hope it will get more even more lewd with some urination kink and anal and i hope the mother will get into some 3some with sis and daughter

[v1.0] Great game, variation in girls and body sizes. Great corruption speed, lots of activities with the girls. Only minus is that you dont get to have any real intercourse with the step-daughter yet. So the game is not finished, i dont know why the version is 1.0. But dont get me wrong this game has a lot of content already. Great game, would recommend

the christmas scene pretty much sums up the whole game, what can be considered maybe 1 barely passable scene is in the gallery 4 different scene's
also 1 of those scene's is of santa fucking an elf, it in my opinion does not fit in with the rest of the game, a warning is given for lesbian content but not for the fact that you have to watch Fugly ass santa railing an elf

Note: As the developer practices a frequent small updates cycle, though True Husband is currently labelled as V0.9, the content is 4 hours tops and roughly equivalent to V0.3 of other games.

True Husband offers a good play on the older man going after young girls kink and the story as a whole shows good promise despite being relatively early in development. It is an overall fetish driven game paired with a good enough story that is better than generic porn, just don't get into this expecting some sort of intriguing and emotionally engaging story.

Story
MC is a middle-aged successful professional who is happily married to Sarah when one day his wife's daughter with her ex, Alice, appears out of nowhere and joins his household. The narrative tracks MC's lust and gradual corruption of his stepdaughter as well as his interaction with a host of other younger LIs in daily life.

There's quite a bit of slow burn on the stepdaughter corruption part as well as some teases with other LIs such as his neighbors (Holly and Molly) and sister-in-law (Beckey) as MC debates internally whether to unleash his lust on them.

Game Mechanic
Largely a kinetic novel with choices that allow players to reject LIs they don't like.

Background / Character Renders
Very nicely rendered in HS2 - Sarah and Becky who are MILFs actually look pretty convincing as characters in their late 30s and early 40s which is quite uncommon as many HS designed mature ladies often look way too young to fit their character. Alice fits the profile of an innocent virgin teen well while neighbourly sisters Holly, Molly and even Madison are hot in their own ways.

As most of the story takes place in generic venues like house, office, malls etc, background is mostly made up of common stock images. One minor inconsistency which I hope the developer can address is the interior of MC's house. Currently the rooms look like a cheap rental house and don't gel with MC who is supposedly a successful Senior Executive of a large company with his own private secretary, office and conference room.

Character Development
Most of the character development centres around MC and Alice as the former slowly corrupts the latter through a variety of compromising opportunities. Sarah plays the part of a high sex drive MILF whose main role is to provide sex scenes early in the game while the slow burn with younger LIs is in progress.

Sex Scenes
Very well done with good music, lewd dialogue, animations and seductive camera angles to deliver a kinky experience. Some of the scenes come with heavy role play and sex talk that are quite hot and memorable.

Interestingly, IMO the hottest scene so far is with Madison, a prostitute, who role plays the daughter of MC during their session. Although it looks like she may be a once-off random character, I hope there can be a more prominent role for her in the future.

BGM and Sound Effects
I would say BGMs are currently very upbeat in nature and perhaps the developer can widen his repertoire of tracks to cover different scenarios.

Sound effects are minimal currently.

Conclusion
Most niche games that play to an audience with a specific kink are of dubious quality as the niche alone already guarantees a minimum number of subscribers. True Husband is one of the uncommon examples whereby the developer manages to stich up a good enough slow burn story and combines it with spicy dialogue, music and animations to deliver a quality experience.

It doesn't have a very strong script, plot twists or character development, but does its job well especially if you are into the older man going after young innocent girl angle. I would rate this a solid 4 stars with a few rough edges here and there.

Besides capturing the god-like mother daughter corruption genre well, what really does it for me is the pacing. Lots of VNs struggle with jumping right into the heat or blue balling it for too long.

Well, I'm normally pretty stingy with my ratings, but I've got to admit this one really does it for me....the concept of a mother/daughter corruption VN is pretty appealing as a base concept.

In this case the author pulls it off really well, with great visuals and decent story telling.

Frankly there is nothing I can complain about. Sometimes, the narrative in these type of VNs drones on and on, but in this case, any spacebar/mouse spamming is my own fault for wanting to move faster.

Standard renders and writing, the characters are well defined, and the story proggression is Ok.

We will find again that female chars bodies are Vicky Secret's models like, targetting appealing instead realism... as always.

For now, it's a 2.5 stars for me.

Poorly written (at least in English), tired setting, there is zero build up to anything and the characters are forgettable. I also have a hard time believing this is a v0.7 given there is 15 minutes of gameplay.

This is also one of those games with "game over" choices, in fact most of the player "choices" in the game lead to game over currently if you do not select the non-creep option. The MC is a scumbag who acts more like a 15 year old than a middle aged man

Yes, you have seen this story before, it's exactly what you expect.

Yes, the art is servicable, but nothing noteworthy.

No, the story does not have any nuance, relatability (unless you are a creep) or is even remotely grounded in reality. The women are barely more than a vehicle to get their genitals in contact with the manly MC.

All this isn't new and might make an ok game for the undiscerning "customers" of F95zone.

Unfortunately, the MC once again is a nasty, predatory creep that immediately lusts after his wife's daughter, because apparently that's one of the commandments of porn games. Would it hurt you to develop this somewhat naturally, based on (I know I am reaching here...) mutual, developing attraction? Like normal people do? (Well, not with their daughters, but in general).

TLDR: Creepy MC makes the whole thing really icky.

Super game I love the pace of the game.
The texts are not too flat or too stupidly written, there is still room for improvement.
The content per patch is not too little either.

- Sadly the plot and characters arent very deep. They are mostly a bunch of typical porn cliché.
- If you dont like typical cliché, then a lot of situations in this game might make you cringe.

I didn't have high expectations for this VN - and my first impression wasn't particularly good, to be honest.
For one thing, there's the ridiculous explanation for the stepdaughter's sudden appearance - indeed, her very existence.
The initial dialogues are also anything but well written - too long-winded, too artificial, too descriptive.
As a result, I felt a strong urge to delete this VN shortly after I started reading it - and I don't blame anyone who did (which probably explains some of the negative reviews here).

However, I kept reading because I liked the playful dynamic between the MC and his wife.

Thankfully, the experience got better after a while.
Sure, there's still porn logic at play (especially in regards to the twins and their mum), but all in all the plot seemed - well, maybe not realistic, but at least plausible. Digestible?
The dialogue got a lot better, too.

One of the strengths of True Husband is its characters.
I have a soft spot for Honey Select models - and the cast is quite diverse: We have

• the loving (and playful) wife,
• the innocent stepdaughter (I didn't pursue her romantically - aside from the initial, inevitable attraction the relationship is surprisingly healthy and wholesome, especially after closing the romantic route),
• the extremely forward, nymphomaniac sister-in-law (one of my favourite characters - the interactions between her and the MC are just hilarious),
• the flirtatious boss (yoga sessions, anyone?),
• the submissive secretary (as someone wrote in the main thread, I really hope it doesn't end in blackmail, but that she shows her gratitude for his indulgence by willingly giving herself to the MC),
• the manipulative twins and their (yet to be introduced) mum.

If I have anything to criticise here, it's that most of the love interests are far too busty for my taste (a general issue with adult games for me).
Yes, the teenagers (stepdaughter and twins) have relatively small breasts, but the majority of the adult characters (Sarah, Becky, Olivia) and their "melons" are simply too much for my liking.

This is all the worse because in a flashback we see Sarah in her early 20s - and she's just I wish there were more LIs with realistic proportions like her, both in True Husband and in general.

And let's not forget the MC.
I find it strange that he's grey-haired, but apart from that I like him and his witty inner monologue.

Which brings me to the next point - the humour.
True Husband is just pretty funny and made me laugh several times, especially at the situational comedy (e.g. the scene in the sauna where the twins try to "sell" their mum to the MC - figuratively speaking, of course - and he frantically tries to feign disinterest while sporting a massive boner).
The bad endings (I only encountered one, though) are also funny (and hot).

Speaking of which - the lewd scenes and animations are pretty good.

Choices are limited to which character you want to pursue romantically.
Unfortunately, there are also some dreaded single choices at the end of the current version.
As a result the whole story reads more like a kinetic novel, which doesn't bother me too much (not every VN needs to have an insane amount of choices).
However, at least a few impactful choices (and recognition of whether the MC is faithful or not) would have been nice.

It's too bad there are (almost) no sound effects, because they could increase the immersion and the situational comedy immensely.


Conclusion:

If you're looking for an adult VN with a strong and believable plot, you should probably look elsewhere.
If you're looking for a lighthearted and sexy VN that doesn't take itself too seriously, give it a try.

Just keep in mind that the dialogue isn't that well written to begin with - that's why I strongly recommend that the dev revisit the early versions, as it's clear to see that the dialogue has improved significantly over the course of this VN.

Personally, I would rate True Husband 7/10, but I'm rounding up my rating because I don't think the current average rating does it justice.

Very good story so far. Looking forward to more. Love the teasing and the relationship so far between all the charecters. Would be awesome if the daughter found a sexy red head her age to hang out with. Giving us more options for some fun.

Really good story and beautifull models/animation. A must play. I played 0.6 and have six day of full content. The game is VN only so no stupid mingame or wasting time around maps. Really good the interaction with the stepD, and the aunt. I hope in future versione that the dev would add more characters.

This little story has some flashes of greatness, but overall it's between good and okay. The renders are HS so nothing special, the dev has opted for the "can't show the MC's face" which is always a turn-off for me and the dialogue ranges from okay to awful.

The one really positive thing is the relationship the MC has with the wife. Most of the wife scenes have been really enjoyable and they were what kept me interested.

The odd thing is how sometimes the story is written like a story and then there are parts that seem like they are a porn scenario. The whole scene in the spa, for example, while I liked it, seemed way out of place for the type of story so far. For me, I would like to see the dev chose one or the other and go all in.

IDK... this is one of those VNs where I may or may not play it again but I definitely hope it gets better with age.

Not when you're giving me a game over screen for the choice I'm making. If your goal at the beginning was to lock me into a specific route and punish me for going off the beaten path, just make it a kinetic novel. Don't waste my time by giving me the illusion of choice.
