VN - Ren'Py - True Husband [v1.4] [Snowstorm]

This is my personal fav type of main lead who is not overbearing in either trsit.
The fmc writing might be one of the best in avn game. Same with varietu of fl that never gets you bored as fmc takes the burden of action , so that you can get engrossed in gradual devlopment. Especially when fmc is so loveable .

I can't think of single bad thing about this game. It achieves what ot sets out to do in flyo g colours and that is the best I can say about this avn

This is a nice family focused game that was waiting on my list for a while, but I think I started with perfect update

Story and MC
Don't expect any special plot, mysteries or thrills, just a life of middle aged guy building his own world and happiness in vanilla settings without any troubles or obstacles. This way dev is able to fully focus on relationships and for now it's enough, but in future it may be boring. Beginning kinda shocked me. MCs wife hidden before him that she had daughter and when she appeared he was like umm, whatever, let's go work a lil bit, then he made dinner and accepted her moving in without a word like a good boy, well trained puppy. Then wife is disappearing for a whole day instead of talking what happened. My first thought was is it some netorare game with simp pushover MC and dev missed to add tag? NGL I checked it two times + searched thread. I mean I wouldn't expect any big drama, but some immediate answers or at least not being a good dog would be welcome. After reading several reviews I think that might be the place some people quit and they made a big mistake, becaise if we remove bad start, MC's kind of a good person with few drops of being funny and playful and a big spoon of perversity and libido that gives him unnatural virility. Caring, firm and understanding mature guy who fucks almost every possible and attractive female, but not treat them like objects. At the beginning dialogues were quite stiff. Writing contained simple vocabulary and some noticeable mistakes. However, with every patch it is getting better and better. It's always good to see that developer is learning and improving the product.

UI
One of problems is poor UI that have no quick menu and text box. It can be changed easily with URM (Universal Ren'Py Mod), but IMO every game should have both. Another downside are single choices. There are many single choices required to push scene like "kiss her", "lick her pussy", etc. It's annoying. I think dev is giving up on it as later part of the game have it less and less, but it may be just a feeling.

LIs and relationships
Main LIs here are obviously wife, step daughter and sister in law. First one is passionate, caring and grateful. Good wife in home, lady outdoors and slut in bed. A perfect mature woman that would be worth pursuing even with knowledge that she already have a daughter. Second one, daughter, left me with very bad impression almost at the beginning. Seriously, Spurs shirt? They're losers. Jokes aside, she's sweet, innocent, quite naive and clueless sheltered girl that's becoming a precious gem with some time and attention. The third one is totally different from her sister and niece. Fiery, shameless, troublemaker nympho. Totally not my style, but in game it's a nice addition. It's quite stereotypical trio, but well managed by dev. Them alone would be quite a pleasurable cast, but there are also many side LIs. Pacing is good and deliberated. Wife likes sex a lot, so dev don't have to blueball us with slower pace with step daughter. The same is with side LIs. Pacing is adapted to girls character and it gives us some quick women and some that need attention first.

Visuals and audio
One of the most beautiful faces (not you, Olivia) I've seen in HS games. Picture of wife was one of the most important factors that convinced me to start this title, she's extremely gorgeous. One thing to improve is water and especially objects inside or in front of it, because there may be more interactions with water in new updates, it should be a priority as it looks very weird. Animations are simple and smooth, but not exceptional or finesse, so don't expect any unique cut scenes, animations of cumming or cum dripping. There's also something wrong with their boobs during animations. Game lack of sound effects. I think there's a door ring at the beginning and some text messages sound, but there's nothing during scenes and that's most important.

Summary
This game have very big potential and with some story, extra content (pregnancy or netori suggested by dev or in game) and at least moans or better animations may easily become 5/5. It's still good or maybe even very good title and I'm recommending it to everyone who likes a lot of good ~family fuck with some romance and without drama.

The "story" can be summed up in one sentence: Simp-guy marries older chick who didn't tell him about her daughter, who then joins the household, surprisingly...

The MC has no balls, he doesn't confront his wife on anything, shows the daughter "her" room, however this room came into existence (...), and goes on with his life...

Dialogue is robotic, drawn-out, repetitive, and with plenty of errors.
Renders are okay, wife is big-chested like usual, daughter looks severely underaged and behaves the part...

No real upside to this, but some downsides, two stars in my book.

Good story, characters, and overall action. A bit too much generic wife content. I'd like more content with the wife's sister/daughter. Daughter seduction 10/10. I want to see as much content with my daughter as possible. Ideally, I'd like to have a scene where she watches sex, not with wife, but with wife's sister.

I played this a couple of times months ago when the game ended soon after the MC and Becky had a "situation" in the bathroom. I thought it was a nice and promising start of a story but seeing the game over screens when you try to rush things as well as the general style, I thought it wouldn't get too far. Boy I was so wrong.

TH 1.3 feels almost like the complete version of that early build. You can finally have your way with Becky and find new potential LIs besides Alice and the twins. It's not like I want dozens of girls but this is a porn game through and through (you get to a point where there's sex in almost every single scene), so some variety becomes necessary. Still, the story remains believable for the most part and even if you're mostly of the romantic type there aren't that many situations where you actually feel the pinch of guilt, since your wife has more than her share of the action and she seems genuinely happy. In fact the game manages to make it look like everyone is happy despite all the cheating going on.

If I had to point out a highlight so far that would be the whole sequence with the realtor while closing the deal on the new house. Man what a hot and yet hilarious way to buy a house Not only that but the shot with Victoria looking genuinely annoyed by Sarah interrupting her advances on the MC made my laugh. Just like the time Becky gets the MC all worked up under the table with her foot while Sarah is right by your side. The little slut... seeing her eyeing your hard-on as you leave is another priceless moment. The scenes with Madison are also very hot, I can't wait to see more of those!

On the other hand, if I had to point out any minuses I suppose that would be the stiffness of some animations, which I suppose comes with the territory and the Japanese style. Over time the scenes with Sarah become "conventional", so to speak, and you never get to see a girl squirt either Also, some renders are simply poor; most of these involve the MC in a shirt walking around the mall but he also looks "wrong" here and there. Oh well, at least I'm thankful that no girl suffers from this problem!

Summing up, overall even if not perfect I think it's fair to say this is easily one of the best Japanese-style novellas you're going to find. If not for the mentioned minuses this would deserve 5 stars if only for the sequence with Victoria!

Another soulless, talentless, overshallow piece of garbage created only to farm easy cash from the most undemanding crowd without any tastes and quality standards. The writing and plot are so idiotic and lame that I can assure you that even I myself, if writing a story on the go with a speed of thinking here and now, will definitely do a way better job than this dev. I'm sure that he wrote this mess in the same way, without any second thoughts and rereading what he wrote just to be done with updates with light speed and without putting in any kind of effort so he can mind his own business for the rest of 90-95% of the time between updates. Characters behave, talk, and react to things in absolutely imbecilic and unnatural ways.

80% of sex scenes are with the MC's wife, and after the second one, they become absolutely boring and unnecessary and serve the only goal - to prolong this lame, dumb, and uninspired game for way longer to farm more easy cash without the need to give expected content, be creative, work hard, etc. I don't know how low the standards of one should be to give this trash more than 2 stars...

Story/characters:
⠀⠀⠀There is no overarching central plot really, just MC juggling his relationships while trying not to ruin his marriage. There is the step-daughter that he finds irresistible, wife's horny sister moves in as well, two shameless neighbor twins and their hot mom, flirty boss, cute secretary, step-daughter found a friend who's now thirsty for her new daddy and many more. There is no deep character development or anything, everyone are horny wenches lusting for MC, as if he's some sort of Apollo incarnate. Protagonist himself is alright. Not annoying or repulsive, but not particularly interesting either.

Choices:
⠀⠀⠀The very first choice can lead to a gameover on the spot, and it's far from being the only one. Bruh, why put sex scenes behind gameovers? It seems like such a baffling idea to me that only irritates the player. And to make matters worse the game doesn't provide relevant choice where it's actually needed. Like you can throat fuck your wife's sister in the bathroom and get a gameover, but you can't do anything with her when she's masturbating at night. Or when twins or your boss make advances on you, protagonist will reject them, and you don't get a say in the matter. Like he can sometimes be an unhinged pervert with his clueless step-daughter, but when it actually matters he's playing the 'loyal husband' card. Besides not having much of a player agency, the existing choices don't actually branch out the story at all. Most of them are "do you want to see the sex scene or not?" kinda choices. You can close down a Alice's path, but that just means that you won't get these "sex scene" prompts with her going further. So overall implementation of the choices, left me disappointed. In my experience this was essentially a kinetic novel, but more annoying.

Erotic content:
⠀⠀⠀My overall impression of the game's sex scenes is that they are OK, maybe even slightly above average. There is a decent amount of teasing and foreplay, the sex doesn't happen suddenly out of nowhere, build-up is present. The animations are simple 1-2 second loops sometimes jerky, general impression is 'default HS2', nothing new/original as far as I could tell. There is a lot of dialogue and intermediary renders so sex is not just an animation viewer. The pacing is pretty nice, sex happens very often, so you will not be starving for that content. And yes, there are a bunch of erotic scenes but most feel kinda samey, especially the wife ones and 90% of the scenes in the first half the game are with the wife character, tho way less later on. The biggest issue here is sound design IMO: I don't like the music, it's super generic, repetitive and fails to set the appropriate mood, AND there are ZERO sound effects.

I do in fact recommend this title, especially is you find a theme of cheating and hidden sex to be hot, it's pretty solid quality all around. Just don't go in expecting a literary or erotic masterpiece.

This is a game with pretty nice animations, but the story and the updates just drag their feet, repeating the same teasing scenes with the same characters most of the time. Choices in the game mean nothing, only the difference between them is if you see a scene, don't see the scene, or game over.

White knights posted that I should stop playing the game, so I'm taking their advice. Here's my review and me duckin' out.

[Review about True Husband v1.2]

Look, I love some oyakodon. Both kinds. I truly do.

But hear me out. There's some serious problems with the start of this game.

I downloaded this game a few months ago together with a bunch of other games, so I had totally forgotten about it. I found it recently in my Downloads folder and didn't even remember what it was about. So I decided to try it.

Here's the first half an hour into the game. I don't think this counts as a spoiler since it happens right away and half of it it's in the game's description.

He marries this hot woman. Two weeks after moving into a new house, a random girl appears in front of his door claiming that she's the daughter of his wife.

First problem. His wife never told him she had a daughter.

And she acted like she didn't even know how to contact her daughter all these years because the father didn't let her (let's not dive into how this is legally bs in most countries of the world). But her daughter not only knows where she lived (the wife just recently changed residences, after all) but also that she was married (again, a very recent thing). So the only conclusion to have here is that the wife is still keeping contact with her ex-husband. Quite frequently even, and with lots of details, if he knew such recent information about her. That's quite suspicious.

Second problem, the first thought that the MC had was "My wife has some serious explaining to do": perfectly reasonable and very smart of him. Then immediately after he goes "Oh, stepdaughter, let me take your luggage to YOUR room", that's not even 5 minutes after she enters the house. And then he let them catch up and go to his office to work. Then they eat, he goes back to his room and his wife is evidently working harder than ever to please him in bed which he notices it's probably because she felt guilty for lying to him but he just let it be and decides to wait until tomorrow to have his answers.
Next day. He wakes up, his wife makes them breakfast and have to leave in a hurry for work in another city, without even touching her own food. Leaving the MC and the stepdaughter alone at home. Later, she contacted her daughter (not him, for some reason) and said she can't come back because it's "raining heavily".
First, one more day without any explanation about why she lied about having a daughter. And second, this is a modern day world setting, mind you.
How freaking heavy is this rain that people can't even go back to their home? And I'm sure we've all seen some pretty crazy downpours. Even if the other city is a place with bad engineering that any heavy rain causes a flood, you're telling me not only she left the house without seeing the weather news, but also didn't know about the rain until it started? She supposedly travels a lot due to work and she made such an amateur mistake? That's not suspect at all.

At this point I had to open the game's page and recheck the tags. I could swear this was a netorare game. A doormat MC who can't keep his own boundaries in place and a lying wife keeping secrets.

But I guess this was all the author's excuse to give MC and the stepdaughter a dinner date. Badly executed, if you ask me.

Now comes the third problem. The MC is a 42 (43?) years old guy barely out of honeymoon period with a stupidly hot woman. He himself said they were going at it like rabbits until just a while ago. Then he takes a look at the stepdaughter's exposed skin and he acts like a teenager at the height of puberty who just saw his first pair of tits. You even have an option to openly jerk off right behind her while she's playing a game. Granted that option leads to a game over. Nevertheless.
This is a problem with so many erotic games nowadays. It's already tiring enough when it's a college guy acting like a dog in heat, but when you have a grown ass man old enough to already be a grandfather acting the same way without any logical reason, there's some problem with the story's setting.

With all of this, when the MC finally puts his foot down on the third day and reject a "fun time" with his wife to have the serious talk, it feels kinda silly, even though it's kind of a sad (even if it's till bs) story.

And come on? I agree the stepdaughter is hot and nubile and taste is completely subjective. But the wife was not even designed in a way the player would think: "Yeah, the daughter is totally the younger and better version" like how it usually goes with this kind of story. The way the MC thinks to himself "I hope [Wife]'s body can keep my mind off [Stepdaughter]" is just ridiculous.

A few suggestions:
- Remove all the "Me horny" lines from the MC. This makes no sense at all. It's not like he was a virgin until he met [Wife], right? Let the stepdaughter explore her feelings herself (which she starts doing very quickly anyway) without the MC showing any interest in her besides that of a guardian. And when she come to him, the MC can choose to accept or not (if this is not a linear story).
- Move the third day's conversation with the wife back to the first day. You can't leave a serious talk for tomorrow (or after, in this case) just because "I just emptied my balls and want to sleep".
- Do some rewording work. Just some small rewording here and there is enough and it'd do a whole world of difference on this horrendous start.

Up to this point, I can't say this is at the "Average" level yet so I'm giving it a 2-star rating. I'll try to play a bit more and see how their relationship develops. The idea of the story is totally up my alley, but if it keeps this pace, I probably won't be able to play it until the end.

Classic story elements, good execution, good looking characters, lots of scenes. Pacing is not too fast, new characters come into the story as it progresses.

Worth the play, hope to see more content.

If you're looking for a quick fun story then this is it. Of course you need to be into the plot but it has a good build up and there a lot of sex scenes. It does the fetishes really well. I even open it to watch some of the scenes again.

So much better than what I suspected. Thought I'd give it a try with a suspicion it was one of those NTR games that was pretending not to be. Nope. Not at all. Wife is actually pretty cool, and her daughter is wonderful. Sister is fun. Neighbors are amazing. Tons of content out of nowhere. Amazing game that keeps getting better.

True Husband [v1.1] [Snowstorm]

It's pretty good, stable 3-4. Writing, story, characters everything is serviceable, I wasn't put off and was following the story. So, that's that. Sex scenes/animations are okay and sometimes good. There are somethings that I don't like or they are just meh/bad, but I can look past them, as this project overall is quite good and stands out among others with its strong points.
All in all, I'm looking forward to the future updates.

Great game, I definitely recommend it, it's one of the best games on this site.

There are many LI options and it's a harem, I don't know how the Dev will fit all the girls into the harem, but I'll enjoy seeing it happen.

The main LI is the stepdaughter and not the wife, it will be more romance than corruption, the stepdaughter develops a crush on the MC, she knows she shouldn't, but she can't resist, she's inexperienced, but curious, she likes the experimentation between them, I love seeing her call the MC "daddy" when she cums.

The wife is perfect, I think I like her even more than I like the stepdaughter, the wife is super sexy, affectionate, and is always ready for the MC, there are many scenes with her, all great.

The sister-in-law was very attractive, the most attractive in the game in my opinion, but unfortunately Dev decided to change her hairstyle, I consider it a huge change, and it changed for the worse, there are many previews of her new hairstyle in the comments.
The sister-in-law plays with the MC, if the MC takes the initiative to try something with her, she stops him, but if the MC resists her seduction, she will go after him more and more assertively and taking more and more risks.

I only mentioned the family members, but there are many LI's, all great, the ones I'm most curious to see how the story develops are the MC's secretary, and the twins from his building, especially considering that the family is about to move out of the building.

Solid VN that knows what it is and what its trying to achieve.
- Models are very good, I particularly like the sister-in-law but the stepdaughter is very cute, side characters are great and the wife is good. No complaints.
- The story is a bit meandering and has no "overarching" goal, which isn't ideal, but it does reasonably go through how the MC ends up in their position. It is never unbelievable or silly, just sometimes a little directionless.
- The pacing is good. I personally would say this leans slightly heavier on the hornier faster-paced side of things, but it isn't just a nonstop pornfest, it takes some time to develop the story and characters here and there which is nice.
- Music and sound fits the game well, but variety is sorely needed. There's like 3 songs and they all get used a lot. Whats there is good, but some variety would help a ton.
- Animations are... OK. They are smooth and work well, but they're very simple loops. Overall the camera angles are good and framing of everything is good but is missing... something.
- Set design and props are... meh. I mean, most VNs put very little to no time into improving these aspects so I'm not exactly underwhelmed, but it can sometimes detract from a scene that should look good to have something from the set or prop to jank the whole feel of the image.
- Gameplay is nonexistent. Its a kinetic novel with largely one route outside of ditching some relationships here and there. You can definitely make the wrong choices and end in a "game over" screen, which is cool that you get to see some things go terribly wrong, but you largely go back to a previous save and continue with the intended path... Which to be honest, is completely fine.

Overall, its a perfectly fine VN that does what it sets out to do well. I'll be returning to this VN to see updates.

I just couldent get into the story and i just hated MCs 12 year old mindset, it also dident help that i hated the wife, i will never understand why devs would make a game with some extremly ugly bimbo wife with huge saggy tits in a game where its more about the smol girl, maybe some people are into everything but im just not one of those types.

It talks about choices and how you deside stuff on front page but when it comes to the wife you dont deside anything, cant say no to sex scenes or dump her ass, so game was a huge turn-off stright from the start and the one who has the most sex scenes is the wife, so if your here for the smols just move on to the next game, but if your into the bimbo type you might like this one and you can say no to smols unlike the bimbo.

Also the "its up to you to deside" issue makes little to no sense, if it was up to me to deside this game would have only have been 5 mins long due to game-over "choices"...

Which is the most idiotic part, so many choices leads to game-overs which makes you wonder why even put them in to start with, they serve 0 purpose for the game other then being annoying and stupid.

Story also makes little to no sense at times, like letting the wife and Becky go back to a bastard ex-boyfriend by them selfs just to spend alone time with Alice?.....i mean its not like that ex-boyfriend couldent over power the 2 girls, and thats another issue, just to much porn logic.

Story is also very kinetic since nothing you do really change anything when it comes to main story, all you can change is fuck xxx yes/no and thats about it.

The art it self is ok, nothing special and nothing you havent seen a million times before, same goes for the overall story that has nothing new.

Girls look ok, but again nothing special, same goes for animations they are average.

The models looks really nice, and the step daughter is cute, i would like to be able to edit her age. i liked the story so far, hope it will get more even more lewd with some urination kink and anal and i hope the mother will get into some 3some with sis and daughter

[v1.0] Great game, variation in girls and body sizes. Great corruption speed, lots of activities with the girls. Only minus is that you dont get to have any real intercourse with the step-daughter yet. So the game is not finished, i dont know why the version is 1.0. But dont get me wrong this game has a lot of content already. Great game, would recommend

the christmas scene pretty much sums up the whole game, what can be considered maybe 1 barely passable scene is in the gallery 4 different scene's
also 1 of those scene's is of santa fucking an elf, it in my opinion does not fit in with the rest of the game, a warning is given for lesbian content but not for the fact that you have to watch Fugly ass santa railing an elf

Note: As the developer practices a frequent small updates cycle, though True Husband is currently labelled as V0.9, the content is 4 hours tops and roughly equivalent to V0.3 of other games.

True Husband offers a good play on the older man going after young girls kink and the story as a whole shows good promise despite being relatively early in development. It is an overall fetish driven game paired with a good enough story that is better than generic porn, just don't get into this expecting some sort of intriguing and emotionally engaging story.

Story
MC is a middle-aged successful professional who is happily married to Sarah when one day his wife's daughter with her ex, Alice, appears out of nowhere and joins his household. The narrative tracks MC's lust and gradual corruption of his stepdaughter as well as his interaction with a host of other younger LIs in daily life.

There's quite a bit of slow burn on the stepdaughter corruption part as well as some teases with other LIs such as his neighbors (Holly and Molly) and sister-in-law (Beckey) as MC debates internally whether to unleash his lust on them.

Game Mechanic
Largely a kinetic novel with choices that allow players to reject LIs they don't like.

Background / Character Renders
Very nicely rendered in HS2 - Sarah and Becky who are MILFs actually look pretty convincing as characters in their late 30s and early 40s which is quite uncommon as many HS designed mature ladies often look way too young to fit their character. Alice fits the profile of an innocent virgin teen well while neighbourly sisters Holly, Molly and even Madison are hot in their own ways.

As most of the story takes place in generic venues like house, office, malls etc, background is mostly made up of common stock images. One minor inconsistency which I hope the developer can address is the interior of MC's house. Currently the rooms look like a cheap rental house and don't gel with MC who is supposedly a successful Senior Executive of a large company with his own private secretary, office and conference room.

Character Development
Most of the character development centres around MC and Alice as the former slowly corrupts the latter through a variety of compromising opportunities. Sarah plays the part of a high sex drive MILF whose main role is to provide sex scenes early in the game while the slow burn with younger LIs is in progress.

Sex Scenes
Very well done with good music, lewd dialogue, animations and seductive camera angles to deliver a kinky experience. Some of the scenes come with heavy role play and sex talk that are quite hot and memorable.

Interestingly, IMO the hottest scene so far is with Madison, a prostitute, who role plays the daughter of MC during their session. Although it looks like she may be a once-off random character, I hope there can be a more prominent role for her in the future.

BGM and Sound Effects
I would say BGMs are currently very upbeat in nature and perhaps the developer can widen his repertoire of tracks to cover different scenarios.

Sound effects are minimal currently.

Conclusion
Most niche games that play to an audience with a specific kink are of dubious quality as the niche alone already guarantees a minimum number of subscribers. True Husband is one of the uncommon examples whereby the developer manages to stich up a good enough slow burn story and combines it with spicy dialogue, music and animations to deliver a quality experience.

It doesn't have a very strong script, plot twists or character development, but does its job well especially if you are into the older man going after young innocent girl angle. I would rate this a solid 4 stars with a few rough edges here and there.
