Release information for U4iA - Season 1 (Complete)

  • Patreon release date: 5th of September
  • Steam release date: 10th of October
  • GOG release date: 17th of October
After the release of the Patreon version, I will begin work on the Walkthrough DLC, which should keep me busy until the Steam release. I'll also add a Dev Commentary to the DLC, as it seems you liked that feature for the Leap of Faith DLC.

The DLC will be an in-game mod/helper, and not a separate PDF file, and will also be added to the Patreon download around October 10th.

Episode 4/Season totals:

  • 23854/84696 lines of script
  • 4000/12755 renders
  • 31796/87934 frames of animation
  • 177/428 animations
  • 58/205 songs
  • 9/25 scenes
IMPORTANT - Concerning save compatibility.
As you may recall, the initial release of Episode 3 had issues loading saves. In the end, I identified the issue as being caused by upgrading Ren'Py, and I had to revert to the same version of Ren'Py as was used for episodes 1 and 2 (you can read more about that ).

In short, saves made in 3.0x will not work. Saves made in 3.1x will.

If you want to be prepared to start the new content immediately next Friday, please and ensure your saves are compatible with it.

Saves made in v3.1x and later are also compatible with every version, meaning that if you save something in the Patreon version, it will also appear in the Steam/GOG versions, and vice versa.

Add your name to the credits!
If you hold the $20 tier (or above), remember that you can . This is the last chance to do so for Season 1. The deadline is September 3rd, 11:59 PM (CEST).

Leap of Faith - International release
In October, the international version of Leap of Faith will also be released on Patreon, Steam, and GOG, adding Chinese, Italian, Russian, and French translations for now, along with achievements for the GOG version.

As a minor note for that, I will have to upgrade Renpy for it, as the version LoF runs on now has a problem displaying animations correctly, making animations seem 'lagging' and slow.

I honestly don't know how this will affect your existing LoF saves, but it's an update I have to make, as some users give thumbs-down reviews based on 'lagging animations', which is quite ironic, considering LoF was amongst the first games to feature 60FPS animations.

There will be no normal dev update next week, due to the release, but I'll be back before you know it with more information as we're getting closer to the storefront releases.

Have a lovely weekend, and I hope to see you next Friday for the release.

That isn't true at all.....

Developers can do public releases and many still do, any that say they can't because of Steam is FLAT OUT LYING.
well doersnt matter according Drifty Blogs there isnt one scheduled. and a google search prove you wrong.

Yes, Steam can remove a game from its store if a developer offers it for free elsewhere, especially if it creates a conflict with Steam's business practices. While the specific terms are not public, past situations show that Valve strictly enforces its policies to maintain fairness and trust in the marketplace.

No, they won't, any developers who say they can't offer public versions anymore are again flat out lying.

Only and ONLY if Steam keys are part of it.

Right here is proof

From the private dev subforum, but I'm sure Droosk won't mind all that much. Droosk is certainly one of the more knowledgeable devs about the topic (and a big reason why so many AVNs are moving to Steam now):

So, the devs who are using that as a reason to not put out public releases are likely misunderstanding what's being said. Not that I blame them for it, Steam's legalese and vagueness make it fairly easy to do.

Or if I were looking at it more cynically, it'd be a reason for devs to no longer put out a free version and thus likely make more from people who want it (e.g. [redacted] being banned here, so players were forced to use SS to get the game, thus more money.) sooner instead of waiting for someone to leak it.

So, again, NO developer will be kicked off Steam if they offer their game for free, they would ONLY be in trouble if they offered Steam keys for free while it being paid for on Steam.

It is against Steam policy for a developer to release a paid game on Steam and then offer it for free on another platform. This is a violation of the "release parity" rule in the Steam Distribution Agreement, which can lead to the developer's game being removed from the platform.
Here are the key factors regarding Steam's policy on free releases:
  • Price and release parity: The distribution agreement includes a "release parity" clause, which generally requires games and updates to be released on Steam at the same time and price as on other platforms. Offering a game for free on another storefront (like the Epic Games Store or a standalone site) while it is for sale on Steam is a direct breach of this agreement.
  • Price discrepancy enforcement: Steam players who notice a developer selling a game on Steam while offering it for free elsewhere can report the developer. This can result in the game being delisted from the Steam store.
  • Promoting other stores: Developers are also forbidden from promoting non-Steam versions of their games in communications on the Steam store or community hubs.
  • Past incidents: The consequences of violating these rules have been seen in the past. For example, in 2025, the game Bioprototype was removed from Steam after its publisher violated Steam's rules, forcing the developers to release it for free for a limited time as an apology.

And my guess is that the Patreon version that have been release today, will have been leaked here before that, and it will change absolutely nothing for the Steam release
Yeah I don't get the it either.....the game will end up here way before the steam release.
Like all of them do....:ROFLMAO:

And you don't consider Patreon public? Last I checked there is not a limit on $10+ patreons which have access to the game now.
