Hello there,
I thought it would be good to add my work into a development thread since my old one (which is not a dev thread) might be dead.
I'm doing a turn-based battle-fuck game based on web tech.
The lineup is a little complicated, but it just works, and I want it to work on Android, Windows, and Linux.
Sure, I could have used Ren'py, but my experience with Ren'py, especially in my low-end Android phone, is terrible. It is sooooooo(o x 1 million) slow. I hated it.
For the tech, I am using React, DaisyUI, Vite, and Tauri to bundle it all in an app.
I have bundled it all in both an AppImage, deb package, or rpm for now, all Linux.
Planning to have Android and Windows builds next week.
I might deploy it to itch.io as well, but we'll see. It's not just an HTML file. (though I suppose I could transpile and bundle it up as one?)
I have no idea how itch.io takes its games and how it works for live previews. I do know it works with Unity games exported to Web...something. Might be WebGL?
I am heavily inspired by Corruption of Champions 1, which is in Flash and can no longer be easily played.
nostalgia hits I remember when it was named just "Unnamed succubus game" - something like that. The interface was all white and Fenoxo was not really well known.
Unfortunately, the succubus scene that was implemented back then is gone from the original game.
ANYWAY. The original plan for my game was to have it as a 2d battle-fuck game with nice systems, much like YUMESAME.
However, I can't animate for shit and I am also constrained physically by family. They would see porn on my screen, and that's a big no-no.
That said, I can now freely work on text, build the nice systems, then apply them in a 2d game a few years later or slowly over time, in a Unity game.
The original thread is here: https://f95zone.to/threads/the-game-pretentiously-called-ultimate-sex-god.171523/
Fair warning. Everything is WIP. Don't take all the details of the game at face value.
The only thing that is not going to change now is the intro and world building.
