Strange but I compressed those files just fine using default settings with HTML compressor.

Well it has 4.5k files chances were good I got 4 that compressed normally :/. Lemme see if I can figure some files that don't compress.

I advice in such case enable "check compressed video size" so it prevents zero byte compressed vid to replace original ones.

Ultrafast ffmpeg is enabled.

Its going between 25% and like 80% depending on how many ffmpeg are active.

Will try that in a re rn. Now that I am saying that CPU currently is hovering at 90% So maybe those were just a ton of very small short videos. Cause my AIO is constantly on 100% the temps are ~80°C.

Ok, ideally info I need: PC responsiveness (comparing with feature disabled usage of nconvert+avif), average CPU usage (to know if 12 parallel processes is enough) and avif compress speed (comparing with limit feature disabled of nconvert+avif).

On my 28c/56t server, I’m seeing an average of ~70% CPU utilization with 12 parallel processes

In upcoming very soon test3 version I've made 16 max processes in UAGC settings, probably in final build I'll separate it from ufffmpeg coz for video 16 processes could be too much.

For main RenPy compressor for feature "nconvert (avif) process limit" added auto avif support, now it shows images progress, Cancel button seems working now with enabled feature, increased max allowed ultrafast ffmpeg processed to 16.
Upd: MrCrisis, I've forgot to upload updated pause.exe, u need to redownload the file to make progress and Cancel work.

I get a popup when launching pause.exe, but it still seems to work anyway (I downloaded it after you edited your message)

for counter code/tool to prevent the error from happening.
Yeah, pausing is not working if proc limit feature enabled, maybe I'll try if tools like PsSuspend works for rush.exe later.

(both exe file and folder with exe are needed) with support new avif limit feature, additionally (unlike for usual pause where I can't do it) now when pressing on pause button with enabled feature (while paused) and it's currently working (images being compressed with it) it would unpause images processing not waiting pause time counter finishes.

If someone, like me, has issues with performance drops after compressing a large number of images into AVIF with limits on MAX (the PC starts to lag and CPU load drops significantly), at the moment this happens, just run the program 'Intelligent standby list cleaner' (you don't need to click anything in the program itself, just launching it restores performance to normal).

I think it was custom compressor + (auto) non-latin-fix + folder-fix and VP8 video codec.

For main RenPy compressor added libvips (avif) + process limit tool with auto avif support (activates and deactivates using cog icon to the right of it), keep in mind that libvips (avif) loads CPU much more than nconvert so it needs much less processes so adjust your ultrafast ffmpeg speed settings accordingly! Overall I think that libvips is better solution than nconvert (avif) + limit if you have fast PC since it can compress renamed avif and also have some fail safe measures using UAGC code while nconvert (avif) + limit not due conflicting "-o" key with rush.exe.

"since it can compress renamed avif" Does this mean that libvips (avif) can be used even for those games whose RenPy version does not support standard avif?
