Unity - Unaware in the City [v43b Basic] [Mr. Unaware Studios]

I like sandbox games and the premise here was appealing, so I tried it out. But, uhm, I have some issues with it.

First off, it's apparently a (superior?) remake of "Unaware of the World" which was itself a ripoff of "Insexsity." I wasn't familiar with either of those, but I looked them up, and, well, I don't know about this one being the better version. I have serious doubts.

But anyway, on to my issues...

1) MUSIC CONFIGURATION

Right from the start, the music blasts out from your speakers. OK. This is standard. No problem. I go into settings to disable it, and... I'm greeted with a snarky message telling me nope, sound can't be disabled yet, you have to go through character generation first.

What the fuck?

And here's the thing. CG takes 20-30 minutes. Holy hell. I was already playing music on the computer, so I had both coming out at the same time, what a pain in the ass. I had to pause the album and mute the PC until I was done with CG and could finally shut the music off so I could start up Deezer again.

Why? Just why?

Every fucking game in the universe allows you to control sound right off the start. This is insane.

Not cool.

And you know what they say about first impressions...

2) GRAPHICS

Okay, I'll admit I don't love the graphics, but that's more a matter of taste, so I won't comment too much on that. But what bugs me more is not so much the style as the design.

And what I mean by this is that everything is *always* shown from the side. Which is a huge issue in a porn game.

Think about it. Because what that means is that you NEVER see a pussy or an asshole, just thighs.

You'll see cocks, plenty of those, though none of them look realistic IMHO.

So when characters have sex, all you see is a rectangular shape disappearing behind a woman's thigh and that's it. You can zoom in all you want, you'll still be left annoyed (if not frustrated).

Incidentally, this also means you can't see the front or back of dresses. Ever. So even when you buy a dress that says it has "cleavage" well, that's all well and good, but it doesn't tell me how MUCH cleavage it has. You just have to try and picture it in your head. Ugh.

Note by the way that the *original* game that started all this (Insexsity) doesn't seem to have this problem (judging from the screenshots I saw).

3) ANIMATIONS

There's *some* animation, which I guess is better than none, but... Bleh.

I really don't have much to say on this. Just that I'm seriously underwhelmed.

4) WORLD SIZE

I like sandbox because of how it allows you to explore the world, go wherever you want whenever you want... But when the 'world' is limited to 7 spots (not counting buildings) you quickly get to see all that there is to see and the game loses its appeal fast.

I realize the game is still under development, so maybe (hopefully) more areas will be added, so this is not as big of a deal (yet).

5) INCONSISTENT BEHAVIOR

So I'm at a stage in the game where "Jane" has finally become a whore. She's fucking like 8 to 10 guys a day. She also sucks random folks in the elevator of her building. OK.

Then she goes to the gym and acts like a prude when she has to share a shower with a guy... Wait, what???

Oh, and what's with all the guys with beards? That's like 80% of this city's male population. A bit off-putting.

With all that said, the game is still addictive, but I doubt I'll be playing it much longer. It's the kind of game that I'll likely get bored of quickly.

Honestly a great game in the works. It is clear that this is going to be a very ambitious game, but I am hopeful that you will continue to deliver on these releases. The customization and the freedom are a breath of fresh air, and it does make it feel the whole experience feel unique each time.

I was skeptic at first, but damn this game blew me away. No Masterpiece but its still a hidden gem with a lot of potential.


The Good

• + You can make your Character do the most nastiest shit. My highlight is becoming a free use slut for the hobos lol

• +Gameplay is not too grindy but still gives you a small challenge
• + Character creator is good
• + The lighting is really well done in this game and good lighting can add so much
• + Animations are decent
• + Pregnancy system is always a big plus for me

The Bad

• - Content is kinda lacking once you seen everything.
• - The map like the content also feels limited
• - More options for jobs would be nice.
• - Roommate options are kinda lame.
• - The rewards for finally being allowed to work in a brothel are disappointing
• - Needs more storyline. Either give us more quests or give us more free roam options. This game sadly lacks both

This game is "rough".

But I had a lot of fun playing it a couple of times.
I tried different backgrounds, different traits, used this game as a foundation to play a handful of different stories out of my own imagination.

If I can make it to "x-amount" of money as a virgin.
If I can survive homeless
If I can make x-amount of money as fast as possible by any means

There is almost no storytelling here.
No big writing and narrative.

Just a couple af smaller stories you may, or may not explore.

But you can actually DO STUFF in this game.
Not a lot, no... Only just a few options...
But you can mostly do it, as you like.

other bad sides:

rough, buggy, not fully finished and not really pretty and content only enough for a day or two.
not gonna complain about that, cause this could be said about 90% of all ather games here, too.

The game has a lot of potential but I fear it is being wasted. The storyline must be improved, maybe a creative writer could help. Graphics and sound are okay. The city is not a city but merely a few streets and very few locations. AI may be used to give NPCs a character and improve NPC dialogues. The game doesn't feel like a RPG as it is claimed. Nevertheless, this game is one of a kind despite some resemblance to previous games therefore still worths playing and support. I'm not gonna lie. I enjoyed playing it a lot until it repeats itself but thats okay for a game that is still under development. Did I mention that developer is a sweetheart, responding your questions with a lightning speed

This game is boring and uninspired. It has no real story you just go to work, and randomly get groped or raped. The graphics are okay, but the animation is like an ancient flash game. They are completely stiff and nonerotic. What dialogue is in this game is awful and boring. I am only giving it two stars because of the character customisation and the female model.

Review for v42.

I remember playing this game before it was remade and I thought that I would know try it again, and oh man was I disappointed.

The game open's up by saying "It's an open-world RPG where you can go wherever you want, talk with other characters and your
choices matter. It's not about finishing quests, but about exploring and playing you own way." Now this message is a bunch of nonsense.

Playing my own way made it so I didn't find any content for about 4 hours and was just working at the dinner every day, expecting thing's to unlock by talking to people, exploring, having sex with strangers, etc.

What I found out later was that 70-80% of the content is found in 3 characters, Kevin, Rick and Ben, I had avoided them, mainly
because I didn't like how they looked, but, I went exploring the world trying to find new characters, just to be disappointed that every other character has very few scenes and that the random characters just disappear from the game after you had an encounter with them.

The game tries to be an "Open-world game with choices" but it fails on so many levels including.

- Lack of npcs and random npcs that stays in the world.
- A very small map, 7 areas is far to small.
- Forcing players to either date Kevin, Rick or Ben to actually see some content.
- There is zero reason or very little reason to talk to random people.
- There is no real reason to explore, no new areas to unlock.
- Lack of choices, I am not of fan of going from "want to earn some money" -> sex, or "have a drink" -> sex, there need to be more choices in between.

For the art and animation, I think it's ok, but, I am not a fan when the animations or art stretches, for example during some sex scenes or idle animation.

In conclusion, I think it's a disappointing game and that the dev really needs to either, make the open-world more appealing or
make it more linear, so that you are forced into picking one of the bigger npcs to date.

really solid game. everything about the MC is highly customizable. the skills aren't super grindy to level up. the perks make the actual gameplay quite customizable as well. there is plenty of scenes and stuff to do. cool artwork too. highly recommended

The game was everything i wanted i cant wait to see when the game is finished the prostitution is fun to do i kind of wish there was more perverts in the game like the man who buys your used panties. I loved the pregnancy that the game has

I really enjoyed this game even though it's not finished yet. It's got everything I like in a h game. Corruption, life Sim, free use, etc. Its not too buggy either.

The reason why I gave it 5 stars is because the perk system and MC background let's you do a few different builds/challenges. Only gripe is that I wish there were more scenes.

I've tried this game for a few hours and I can see a lot of resemblance to Insexcity so I hope this doesn't end up like it, I can see a bit of potential in this one but also a lot of issues :
- A lot of inconsistencies with character models (especially when wearing a skirt or when pregnant), clothes look like they're stuck with glue on your character
- Everywhere i go i find Ben and i have to talk to him about the same thing over and over, it's getting really annoying
- There is zero reaction to the MC getting pregnant, not even from her boyfriend
- Getting some events to trigger is a nightmare, too many variables to keep track of like time, day, stats, other event triggers etc... which makes it super confusing
- The dick size modifier is a cool option that i appreciate but it needs some fine tuning and it shows during blowjob scenes where it just phases through the face even at just 110%, if only the MC could open her mouth wider...
- The x-ray just randomly turns off for no reason
- In some scenes the MC gets fucked while still wearing her glued clothes (the drug scene with the two baldies in the diner's toilet for example), I don't know how that works but it needs to be fixed
- Clothes (which look terrible) are way too overpriced! and 50$ for a subway ticket!! COME ON!!!
- There is no actual story, no interesting quests or meaningful objectives, you just go to work, roam around the city and hope for something to happen
So.....

This game has quite alot of potential.

As a non sandbox AVGN player i quite enjoyed the time i put into it. Its sorta like the Sims and a RPG mixed together. So it has some charm to it. It helps that the game looks pretty great, with some stellar looking girls you can create. Otherwise the game has little amount of content right now.

While your character customization is open ended. The actual content on display here is very very linear, with very little choice and impact that you can have in the games world. Thats probably the biggest issue i have with the game right now, its that after a while it feels grindy and repetitive cause you dont have that consistent choice that every RPG game like this has.

Overall, its a 3 for now, but it has the high chance of getting better overtime.

Although the game is acutely repetitive and very frustrating looking for new events [because I don't really understand the list of events - because it's not user-friendly] but I enjoy it and hope that the game will only open with new events and updates because I'm hungry for simulation games

cool game

At first i didn't think i would like this game, but after putting a few hours in I quickly changed my mind. It's hard finding a game like this that's actually well made and I can tell if the effort is put in it will go far.

The game play is good, graphics have a few flaws in the models but outside of that they are great. It just ticks a lot of the righ tboxes for me.

Hope to see some good updates in the future.

Positive:
1. This game provides ample exploration with a wide variety of positive and negative traits that you can combine.
2. It also provides detailed explanations for every action you take and its effects.
3. This game also provides a complete detailed explanation for each trait effect and reputation for each character in the game.
4. This game also provides different difficulties based on the character you choose.

Negatives:
1. This game only shows one side of the character's body
2. Information on the character's menstrual cycle is still a little ambiguous
3. There are some annoying bugs (Note: I'm sure the developer will fix these bugs in the future)

Bugs:
1. There is a bug during the event with the taxi driver where the bar only stops at 0% when pressing the next button.
2. The character's pregnant belly doesn't appear due to the trait switch to doctor

looking for this kind of gameplay for a long time.
making our own decision and multiple ways to play it.
There are events we can choose to trigger or not.
Dialogues are nice, not too long.

Probably would be great to replay some scenes with our current character.
a bit buggy but the ideas are there. cant wait for the full product!

this review is for v36c

TLDR: too similar to older games that did the exact same thing, only this one has a pay wall and an angry developer who doesn't like people using built-in functions of the game to make the game enjoyable.

So I'll start this off with the obvious: there have been multiple games almost exactly like this one that have come out years before this one, with the only difference in this one being a slightly more in-depth character creation screen that even takes some traits (pun intended) straight from Crusader Kings III. Unfortunately, that is the end of the positives for the game.

The character models all stand around looking like they are trying to do their best Donald Trump impression, leaning their upper halves awkwardly forward like they're trying to keep an awkward boner away from someone they're about to hug.
The character models also suffer from a deadly disease known as uglius fuckius which makes them all look like cheaply made early 00s flash characters, even the PC suffers from this disease as there are maybe only one or two combinations of assets that make their face not look like a melted barbie doll that was beat with a bat.
Again, if this was an early 00s game, the art would be fine, but this is 2024 so the art and animations should be way better than this.

Now onto the gameplay itself.
As many other reviews have stated, the game is designed to waste your time and even admits this upon launching the game at the main screen.
However, if you fork over money to their patreon (or use some specific patches found on this site much to the rage of the developer) you get access to a metric fuck tonne of useful options that make the game actually enjoyable for people who don't want to have to play the same grindy loop in a porn game for days on end.
I really don't understand the developer's issues, especially since they have even admitted that some of their patrons don't use the "cheats" to play the game, so locking people out of these options shouldn't even be happening if it isn't necessary to enjoy the game.
However, the mere existence of all of these built-in "cheats" means the developer knows that the game is not enjoyable for people playing the game and is just choosing to lock core functionality behind a paywall because they want to use it as a means to stiff people out of some money if they want a genuine experience of the game's content.

On that note, now onto the "content."
So there isn't much to say here honestly, it's your typical life sim game where you start out as an innocent girl who rapidly turns into a full blown cum dumpster.
You pay your landlord every week (or fuck him), you work at a shitty job where you casually fuck people for money on top of being a waitress, and then you rinse and repeat until you get bored and stop playing the game. Yeah there are some other "story" aspects of the game you can choose to follow, but just like in real life, you don't have to do anything unless you want to, which also kind of makes a lot of the game really pointless since most of the game involves being "forced" into lewd or dangerous situations...where you can just choose not to participate.
There is no meaningful corruption or growth in your character, you just go from being not a slut to being the biggest slut in the world within the first few days of gameplay (I didn't even use the "cheats" to do that either, I just kept watching porn, masturbating, and engaging in sex scenes...that's about it).
Pregnancy "exists" but only if you choose to have sex...just like literally everything else in the game.
It all exists, but only if you willfully choose to engage in it, and only to a minor degree, so keep that in mind if you came looking at this for any of the things the game is tagged as having.

This game looks very promising but I think it needs a LOT more content to make it worthwhile.

Try it if it catches your attention, but you will probably get tired of it after a few hours.

the graphics are much better than previous version, but it's still shit. groping is very bad. the only good thing going for this is that fucking has an "inner view" on the side, where penis enters a vagina. and that's kinda sexy i guess. but everything else is in 2d from the side. sometimes looks very clunky and bad, and no groping feels "real". it feels really really empty.

furthermore game is very grindy, although it has some direction to it.

but it's too consensual as well. the initial grope a lot of the time is forced, but then you are free to choose what happens... breaks immersion.

so with very mediocre art/sex scenes and a lot of grind, and immersion breaking "choices" i can't give it more than 2/5. it's just too flawed.
