VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Uncontrollable [v0.13] [DeepCarbonLabs]

Review for version v0.13:

Starting with good writing and interesting characters, the game starts of well. Later on though, the dialogs become longer and longer without the chance of interaction (and without being interesting or relevant). Especially near the current end of the game there are some missed opportunities for choices.

Speaking of choices: some design choices seem not very much thought out. People living in an appartment reachable only by going through an internet cafe (which is locked whenever noone is working there)?

In its current form the game is seperately missing some rewards for the boring biots you have to go through. The build-up starts nicely but then the one sex-scene in it is almost forced upon you while the others don't go anywhere (yet).

tldr: The game has potential but the dialogs are exhausting.

The game itself is decent and lives up to great potential, but it has been on this platform for a while and gives nothing but blue balls. Unfortunately, there are excellent rendered models that could have become a great game, nevertheless developer just draining money from his Patreon followers by giving ridiculous updates without any scenes

I don't think I can say that the Developer is really trying.

Shortly after the game was posted here in 2021, it was abandoned by the developer, and it was only "recently" that the game started to receive updates, and while it can be seen as positive the addition of updates, unfortunately these updates lack substance, and in my opinion, this just makes the situation worse for the developer.

The Developer apparently no longer has supporters on Patreon, so why not consider changing strategy? Instead of adhering to a specific development schedule or render count, focus on completing and improving the aspects of the game that are currently available, it's taken so long to publish updates, so at least release a good update to attract interest from the public again.

As it is, and from what the developer has shown, I see it impossible to recommend this game to anyone, and not only that, the evaluation of the game in the forum and the confidence in the "brand" of the developer is already bad and will only tend to worsen unless the developer changes the strategy.

A positive aspect is the visual design of the characters, while they may not be original, the selection of recognizable characters can be appreciated, however otherwise the overall experience is negative.

After years of development the game only received two updates, version 0.13 does not mean 13 updates, but only 2 small updates after the "pilot", version 0.13 is actually 0.1.3, very little or almost nothing has been added since the first version released in 2021.

My suggestion to the developer is to halt the current pattern of releasing updates, as this just makes their reputation worse; instead, focus on providing a meaningful update centered on story development and character relationships.

The current situation is similar to writers prioritizing word count over actual story progression, an example is the number of renders in this version, exactly 300, it's as if the developer hits that number and immediately decides to stop.

Downloaded update 0.13 (that took approximately 3 months to release) and just looked through the pics as I had no hope for any good content based on the previous versions. 310 pictures: MC sees a woman and her daughter, MC sees a dude, MC sits next to his aunt, his aunt is back home with a woman, MC puts his aunt to bed (dressed) and sees that woman. THE END.
Came to try this game because of a blonde that somewhat looked like Billie Eilish (those tits!), 13 versions later still no sex, the story and dialog suck. Don't waste your time on this.

Do you like the same "MC returns home after X years and suddenly him and his family are all attracted to each other" plot? How about having to input MC's relationship to all the characters immediately? What about MC and siblings that are 20 but act like they're 10 years old because the dev's only reference to "younger people" is their eight year old children? What if I told you this is also written by someone who doesn't speak English? A "mom" that has boob and butt sliders to max with self esteem issues and looks 28, a sister (or two) that are shy and virgins, and a lusty aunt/cousin. If this checks all the boxes for you, congrats, you are one of the sheeple this shovelware is for. Sure, a fashion designer sister and HR mother are slightly different, but painting stripes on a cat doesn't make it a tiger. The only thing that minorly sets this apart from all the other shovelware out there is the paint filter all the renders have. I don't know how to really describe it, but it looks a little weird and for some reason I like it. But applying an insta filter over a render isn't an art "style," and doesn't justify rating this any higher.

The synopsis is MC returns home after I think 5(?) years from a boarding school he was sent to because he was beating up bullies. And since he was making bullies stop, their neighbors were gonna get his mom fired? In what universe that makes sense, nobody knows. Anyway, he returns home, big sister is happy he's home, mom is too, little sister feels abandoned because of a promise they made as kids. And outside of another plot dump that there's another "bully" in town that fucks other guys girls. Then immediately after that, MC learns about his dead dad's manager doing shady stuff too. But neither of those things are returned to. The rest is just idle, banal nothings of everyone saying how big and strong and cool and smart MC is. To an annoying degree. And for the people that care, the only hint at a sex scene is a lesbian giving him head because MC is so amazing even lesbians are attracted to him. So this is another "game" on here where it focuses heavily on MC's penis. So if you like to look at dicks, this is for you. I'm not kidding, you "get" to see MC's penis like 5 times. So fun.

I really don't know why this is called "Uncontrollable." MC is a virtuous white knight that would never act on emotions against a woman. All the women are demure, busty, and virgin-esque maidens that only have eyes for MC even if they haven't admitted it yet. The English is okay. Tensing and verbage issues but not so many that my brain hurts. The UI is bog standard Renpy, but they edited the main menu and nav menu to be less appealing. As I said, the UX is "open the game then go through naming all the relationships MC has with the women." There are SO MANY ways to avoid the patreon censors for the tired-ass incest fetish that DON'T include me having to write in "mom sister aunt cousin" ad nauseam just for the "taboo aspect" to make sense. All for a fetish that does nothing for me. Cool. I like the painterly style but it's still a bunch of Daz renders of models you don't even get to see naked lol. The dialogue is "I'm so glad you are home my [INSERT RELATIONSHIP HERE]" and MC replies with "I am glad to be back, [TOTALLY NOT MOM]" or "You left when we were kids because you were forced out of the house [NOT REALLY MY BROTHER], I am mad at you." So... Boring. And the story and opinion should be obvious.

All in all, I'm tired of reading the same thing over and over. I kinda see where Dev is going with some of it, but the issue is you really gotta suffer through to get there. And the story still hasn't even GOTTEN to the point yet. My verdict is mostly wait another 2 years for the story to start moving. Sorry for sounding harsh, but best of luck to the dev.

Very good dialogues, the writing is seriously top, and the characters, some more than others are quite interesting.
The story is as tropy as it can be as everybody already said, but girls look different than the usual boring DAZ, some actually look very good. The poses are really good, and the only scene I watched is very well directed and shot.

Does everything that happens characterwise make sense? some things are questionable like the lesbian thing, but since there is not enough info, and sexuality in current day can't be defined orcontrained by names really, it doesn't destroy suspension of disbelief.

The bad thing a bout this game is that is pretty much empty in the sexual department. There is touchy touchy and staring, but that's it And it gives the feeling of "soon to be abandoned" or "once in a year 5 minutes of gameplay" vibes.

But as I said what is there is kind of interesting to read, unless you are specifically expecting sex content and your atention span can't read more than 3 words in a row. If that is your case this game will be frujstrating, empty and probably a 1Star. In my case I enjoyed the reading.

With so many reviews out there I only like to do one if I feel something is over-rated or under-rated. This one is currently overrated. While the renders are above average, they are in no means 5 star quality. The story is pretty non-existent and without a good story how can you be above average these days.

The game has a good idea - miles of text - good graphics - but there are no erotic scenes - about love scenes I'm silent.
This game is a reading simulator.
And in terms of versions - 0.9 is a sham - there really is more content for version 0.1.
I do not recommend even to waste time.

Game started out semi-promising, but now at version 0.8, it's not so promising anymore.

The good:

- Models are unique and refreshing.

The bad:

- Story is cliche as hell.

• Mother: "Oh I didn't realise my son was so tall. Oh I didn't know my son was so muscular..."
• Younger sister: "I'm an annoying brat for no reason but give it some time and I will make a U-turn."
• Aunt: "I am the aunt without inhibitions and you'll probably find out later in the story that I had a 'thing' with your mother when we were young.
• Random milf: "I am a random milf and have no shame when approaching the mc."

- Dialogues are weak.

The super-bad:

- Introducing Danny: "Hi, I am the lesbian in this story yet I marvel at the good looks of the mc and give him a blowjob shortly after meeting him, cause that makes total sense."

i love this game especially the models, specifically the blonde shes really pretty also the storyline is really good and capturing i hope this game doesn't turn abandoned because this is a great game and im hoping that a ton of new updates and chapters come out soon!

Same cliche story , MC comes back home , there is one sister who is mad at him and will later on jump on his meat along with other family members. Renders are acceptable even though it looks like almost every girl is wearing blue contact lens
What is weird is outta nowhere pseudo accounts are coming up with 5 star ratings , these accounts which have been barely active here are popping up. Either the game has some serious attracting powers or you know what is happening.

Look I'm a degenerate and I mean I'm a nasty peace of shit horny scumbag that just wants to rub one out and call it a night. BUT For me to actually play a game like this without being horny or intoxicated in anyway means something....at least me it does. Amazing. The models. Amazing. The dialogue. Amazing. The beginning where they asked us to select our relations to the characters not so much almost caught a stroke because I couldn't tell the difference between EVE and EVA. The renders a well put together, the story is pretty interesting and the dialogue is actually believable which is rare in a lot of VN's.

The main downside is that since this is newer there is not that much erotic content yet, once this is changed it will be worthy of a 5 star.

Characters look amazing, the story looks promising, I like the freedom of choice and having multiple optons, so if this game really has different routes then it's def my type of games.

Looking forward to see how it goes.

The story's actually interesting, even if there isn't much content to go on at the moment. Like the models/renders too, they actually look unique instead of the same old, same old I tend to see these days.

Ah, and given that the dev seems to be a bit of an assman, here's hoping we get to clap dem cheeks sooner rather than later.

Now this is nice, love this one. Downloaded this today and just finished it and all I can say is that I can't wait to see what come next.. Love the story, the characters. the cheekiness and the nice renders. The MILF's look awesome (Nora, Eve and Eva are just adorable) and I personally don't see anything that needs changing on that end but I know that opinions vary. I also like the fact that the MC isn't a dipshit with an attitude problem trying to stick his dick in everything with a heart beat, but a nice all around guy. I was entertained from the first mouse click to the last. Great job to the Dev and a big 2 thumbs up from me. Like any other guys here I enjoy the porn and sex scenes and I'm sure they'll come but I also need a story to hold this all together or it just becomes another boring and pointless FAP game. This was a good story and characters introduction. Looking forward to see how the story unfolds in the next updates. You definitely made it to my personal favorite list and surely hope you will remain there. Best of luck to you. Keep up the great work.

July 2023 Update

Dev sadly seems to have completely lost direction and inspiration and the story (or lackthereof) is boring. I had this rated at 5 stars at the beginning and I now feel overly generous giving 1 star. It's really sad to see something that had so much potential turn out so bad. Will check it again in a few years but after checking out the last many updates, I've lost all hopes.

PROS:
+ Great texts. funny and reasonable
+ Story looks good

CONS:
- Some textures of the female models are really low res (especially faces)
- Sophia's mom is ugly for me and there was not an option to not hit on her

Overall the game has a good vibe.

Everything in this game is lacking. A story that is going nowhere, filled with the same generic incest tropes. The renders are acceptable but could definitely use some polish, especially when it comes to the lighting. And with the gameplay...there is barely any. Its mostly dialogue with little sexual content.
