This looks really cool. But at a glance, it seems like this will need years to get to a playable state. Good luck, I hope you stick it out and cook something amazing.

Hi, I am an assistant from Bajie Studio, we have a game called 'The Color Pink'. We would like to do a cross promo with your game, seeing that both our games are using Daz3d as our artstyle and also both our game are using Godot as our game engine. Please let me know if you can collaborate.

Thanks! I hope it's not years. But GameDev is one surprise after another... Right now adding new "content" is about as fast as adding stuff in Ren'Py, in my estimation, so I am not convinced that's going to be the issue. The big issue so far is slowly adding all the features to the game that I want it to have, also the location art is a bit more than I probably should have decided to tackle.

Major slowdown is making the game engine.... but! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now! It's starting to approach a stage where 90% of all features are implemented (how well, is another issue entirely), so hopefully in the not too distant future it'll move from "tech demo" to actual "demo".

Looks promising, and I totally love the orc girl, but pretty ruff so far, keep at it!
Thanks! I am still mostly working on technical stuff, so the interface especially is lagging a lot behind, and content is sporadic and mostly resembles a trickle at this point. Just trying to get all my ducks in a row before I dare to concentrate on spicier content.

Firstly, I apologize for the long delay before I noticed your crash reports. Thank you very much for reporting! I was sick last weeks (well, I am still sick, but getting better) so I didn't check the forum.

That said, the crash dump file was appreciated but did not tell me anything about what caused the error, just that there was an exception.

If you find a .log file in the "AppData\Roaming\unfortunate_adventure\" somewhere in the folder or any subfolders, that might shed more light. But if you do not see even a log file, or there is no splash screen art, the odds are that Godot 4.5 does NOT like your video card driver. For some reason.

Generally speaking, if the game doesn't launch at all, then it is something about Godot 4.5 that is not meshing with your system. Usually, as far as I know, it is Vulkan-related. Old video cards or old video card drivers, for example. But I can't really do anything about Godot itself.

You could try the new version, but if it crashes without even launching... updating your display drivers, or something like that is the only thing I can think of doing. Or using a different video card, which is a bit of an extreme solution to some random game on the internet, so probably not worth it.

But thank you for trying, and the reports. If any of you get it working, I'll be very interested in how!

Time for new public release, once again.

The main thing in this update is adding a TV show, which is basically an episodic and really short kinetic novel (e.g. no choices). You could add your own into the game, into the AppData\Roaming\unfortunate_adventure\TV folder. All TV shows and their "code" should be there from now on, so you can actually modify the existing shows, even change all the images to your versions if you prefer. There is one TV show that you can view now, and is in fact "plot relevant", so you can't really avoid it either.

As always, since this is over a month old version, there might be bugs that are fixed in future versions, so... live in fear, I guess?

Maybe some day? I have no idea how well my systems would do with touch screen... I'll look into it once we get to demo phase and out of this alpha stage.

Oh yeah, this game can run on the old video card by use Opengl3 driver with command:--rendering-driver opengl3.
Thank you! That's useful information... I wonder why Godot is not falling back to openGL by itself? I would have thought it would do that automatically, to be frank.

Lubia spammie and Pizza_de_Cebola : There is a good odds that the game could run with the command "--rendering-driver opengl3" or add that command in the shortcut properties. That said, I am switching to the Compatibility rendered in version 0.0.13, so you could just wait few versions and try again. It hopefully will work from there on forwards.

It seems like Godot 4.5 has a bug that it doesn't always fall back to OpenGL, even if it really should, it just crashes instead.

Thanks wowowohhh ! For some reason this issue didn't really occur to me until you said it worked with the fallback command. From 0.0.13 onwards it should be unnecessary.
