VN - Ren'Py - University of Problems [v1.7.5 Extended] [DreamNow]

If you like an AVN where the MC is completely simp with the LI's, a fragile kid who can't stand up for himself in a fight where the "strength" stat is useless for it, a feet lover, a sub boy, that's your game. All the female characters share the same face; the only differences are their hairstyles, eye colors, skin tones, etc. Zero skin details, all bodies are like Barbie Dolls. Annoying dialogues, I mean, it's well written. Still, you can easily notice that the dev is a "word collector", probably wants to reach 1M words in his AVN, so he keeps non-stop writing bullshit on it, resulting in the dialogues being 1000% extended.

Very very good game in my own opinion. I like pretty everything about it. One of the very few games I started from scratch a lot of times just to make sure I find the way to unlock every scene, even if I had the cheaty "unlock scenes" possibility.
Story is quite good, writing too. Characters (even if graphically speaking some really look like each others) are well written with own backgrounds and personnalities.

The graphics in this game are amazing, but it's let down by the story. It's uninteresting, there's no tension or charm and every character feels the same. Ultimately ends up being a pretty boring game, despite the clearly high quality graphics - which unfortunately feel wasted on this story.

University of Problems is a game where MC sole purpose to live is to deal with someone else problems. Seriously, this guy doesn't have his own life, he's only there to deal with other people problems. He just sits in his dorm room doing nothing and then after someone calls him/message him/or comes to his room he runs away, like a knight in shining armor to meet with someone needing help with something. And every day look like this. Help teacher with her work? Done. Help girl with her massage room? Deal. Pose nude for a girl painting your dick? Sign me up! Help cheerleader leader with her issues with Sorority? No problem. Save shy girl from some bullies? Easy peasy. He's even engaging with some hush-hush group fighting with some bad people running the university. He's doing everything. Most of the time he's helping some girls who he randomly meet before. And thanks to that we can get close with them. LIs in this game are pretty ok, they have some personality and motivations and relationships with them are solid for the most part. There is some character development involved which is always good. There are some genuinely nice and lovely events with the girls. Relationships feel rather believable and authentic, even if their progression is maybe a bit too fast in some cases. But at the same time the game pacing is not great, too much slow moments. Sometimes there is just too much dialogue, too much pointless dialogue. That type of dialogue which adds nothing to the experience. Dialogue is nice and all but it have to be interesting and serve some purpose. Writing is not bad, but it's boring sometimes. 30 hours into the game, MC already being sexually involved with every LIs, is still dealing with their problems which just keep appearing randomly. At this point it really starts to fell like those poor girls are completely hopeless without our MC. It's starts to drag on at this point. At this stage, game don't offer anything new or fresh. We're just jumping from one event to the next one. Since this game doesn't really have any overarching plot, we only got girls routes so if they're getting boring when we do the same things over and over again, the whole game suffers. It's definitely starting to be less interesting to play. It would be a good idea to just try wrap this all up. There is a good phone and notebook system where we can see girls bios, message them, look at the social media etc. Really good UI.

Visually the game starts solid and get better later on. Renders are sharp and good looking. Thanks to the setting backgrounds doesn't offer much variety. And for my taste, game is generally too bright. What has to be mention about models is that all the girls look very similar to each other. Like the dev used one model and just change a few things. Their faces are different enough but if the last problem to solve by MC will be about how all the girls his romancing are family related i wouldn't be too surprised. The same goes for their bodies, they're all slim just with slightly different breasts and thats it. Even older girls doesn't look any different than students. No real variation here unfortunately. The models themselves look pretty nice tho. Sex scenes in general are quite solid but no all of them are the same quality. There are some bigger scenes, longer ones which are really good but we also have many scenes which for me are just too short. And those bigger, better scenes are in minority. If we have a big scene, that probably means we won't get another one for quite some time. I have to mention one thing i didn't like and it's that many times we see the same camera angles even when characters position is changing. I don't like this, it's just bothering me when we have the same angles for a few different characters positions in a row. For me, every change in characters position should mean new camera angle. Oh, i almost forgot; the extra scenes. I just don't like when there are scenes we can only watch from the menu. Most of them are just extended versions of normal scenes, i see no reason why they can't be included directly in the game. They're supposedly not canon, but then why wasting time on non canon scenes? But overall sex scenes are solid, with some nice animations and not bad dialogue. There is also some nice music but no sound effects.

University of Problems is a fairy difficult title to rate. It does some things pretty ok and some others not so much. At this point, as of version 1.7.0 it seems that we are getting closer to the finish line but the game already is too long, with many slow moments between scenes. It's not really a good fap material if sometimes you have to deal with 30-50 minutes of meaningless dialogue between scenes. It's not a bad game, there are some really good moments here and there, nice visuals, some good scenes and rather solid LIs but that's just not enough. Some parts of the game are just boring and not entertaining at all. There's definitely some enjoyment you can get out of this but ultimately this game is filled with problems, just like the University from the game's name.

by far one of the best animations out there, if you add the video enhancement mod to it.

Characters faces all look kinda similar between each other but the renders are great overall and compensate this.

Story is good, characters are well written and this is one of my favorites of all time to be honest. 10/10

You spend most of your time on the phone, which is a realistic depiction of modern life but not a fun or interesting one. Also, there is more forced exploration than you might expect in something labeled a VN. College is a great place to set a VN, but the focus here is sadly on the more pathetic characters you might find: cheerleaders, punks, assholes, etc.

The art is mediocre. To say the girls all look like sisters would be an understatement. I imagine the dev used one model for everyone including the Asian girl and the black girl, and just did minor tweaks for each. The lifeless doll-like eyes are some of the worst I've seen, the dev has a major short hair fetish, and backgrounds are well below average.

This game is actually so good, I cant believe I forgot about it. i played it way back in the day and redownloaded it and I didnt regret it. This is one of the best VNs out there. GREAT AND I MEAN GREAT renders, animations, girls. I really hope everyone can get this to this skill level one day.

Characterization Catastrophe
This game commits the unforgivable sin of storytelling: creating a protagonist with zero likability. The main character’s erratic behavior feels less like intentional design and more like glitches in the system, completely ruining player immersion. Paired with a supporting cast copied-and-pasted from dating-sim templates (only distinguishable by hairstyles and name), the result is an emotional black hole no amount of flashy visuals can fix.

Narrative Engine Failure
The writers confused "endless dialogue" with "meaningful storytelling." Despite mountains of branching choices and collectible lore entries, characters are as shallow as corporate diversity training avatars. Every "intimate" conversation option felt like clicking through a sexbot’s demo mode—mechanical, soulless, and utterly disconnected. Even major plot twists failed to spark empathy, turning the promised "player agency" into a hollow illusion.

Aesthetic Uncanny Valley
While the motion-capture animations are technically impressive, the art style backfires hard. Characters glow like plastic-wrapped deli meat under hospital-grade lighting, their poreless skin making them look like mass-produced sex dolls rather than humans. Sex scenes end up resembling parody animations—when your characters’ skin reflects more light than a polished gym floor, any attempt at sensuality becomes laughable.

Let me start off by saying that I seem to have a very difficult time trying to keep a pure path for one girl at a time it seems like if you have any kind of positive interaction with them then now they are your gf. That's not that big of a flaw though
Hands down some of the best lewd scenes on this entire site or any other site where you can perv out on some steamy lust filled AVNs. I mean these shits are sexy af. There are no half ass measures taken with this one, if you came to fap, then fap you will.
The story seems be pretty good, I'm definitely looking to see how the corruption within the houses and administration gets resolved. But as long as them Roxy scenes keep getting put out I couldn't care less how long it takes to solve them. 10/5 stars boys!

This game is great and over time has only improved in quality. The animations have gotten better, girls more fleshed out, and the stories getting deeper. They all have varying personalities and stories that this magical freshman with his magical wang gets to explore. The story isn't exactly amazing but its serviceable.

In fact my biggest gripe with this game is just look at the banner image. Most of the girls look samish. Yeah the scenes vary and their bodies are different, but their faces look very similar. Also every single girl seems paired up with another girl for threesomes like it doesn't feel spontaneous. The best way to describe the whole setup is a harem game without an actual harem. All things tend to happen separately from each other and that's fine. It just feels like none of the stories are connected even though most of these girls all live in the same dorm.

Oh well, its still great fap material and there's always an extended version of each release where you get "what if" remixes of the sex scenes which really curbed the blue balling some of these paths took.

Artwork/Animations - 10/5

I am not exaggerating when I say this game has some of the most amazingly beautiful renders I've ever seen. The women are beautiful, the animations are crisp; it's just SO well done. Plus, there's plenty of sexy scenes. This dev does NOT skimp on what we want. And it gets an extra 5 stars because the dev provides optional feet content. It drives me nuts when other games leave feet out of their game, but I feel like the dev went the extra mile to actually include a lot of renders and animations with feet in it. Huge W for me.

Storyline/Dialogue - 5/5

Holy cow, a game where you actually want to NOT skip through the dialogue. Just a fun, well-written story that makes you want to know what happens next. And the characters are diverse with their own personalities. And the DIALOGUE is ACTUALLY well written and MAKES SENSE. Too many games have such poor dialogue that they're not worth playing. This is not one of them.

Gameplay/UI - 5/5

This game has a very simple stat build with well thought out choices. You can pick the paths you want. It's just very well thought out.

All in all, absolutely wonderful game that 100% is worth playing. It is absolutely gorgeous. Now go play it. xD

It's a good game overall however the romance here feels forced and unrealistic and I cringe so hard from it literally the MC knows a girl 2 days ago and he acts like he knew her for eternity and omg I cringe so hard when his thoughts are literally 2 freaking minutes of dialouge of saying he loves her when he literally knew her 2 days ago WTF and omg when you are first enter a girl path She changes 180 degrees and her character becomes hollow also I think the main storylines take a backseat for like a long time between each change and between them there is romance and unrealistic romance and more unrealistic romance I feel like I am stuck in constant cringe.
Oh and also the MC is so pathetic
If there was 3.5 stars I would have given it so 3 stars it is.

So I've played this game a while back. Now I've decided to do a replay from start to finish.

Pros
- Beautiful models.
- Top tier animations.
- Well rounded individual personality's for each love interest.
- Great render quality.
- Story's for LI are well thought out.
- Limited spelling and grammar issues.

Cons
- Lacks a real background driving story and that's the main reason I'm docking a star.

This is overall a great game. I'm not a fan of anal kink and in this game it is the devs life goal to get to anal as fast as possible. You will miss out on relationship points, lust points and I believe even a love ❤ point. Other then that this game has a ton of lewd content and it some of the best animations on this site.

An interesting visual novel that is quite different from many others.

The game starts off really strong and appears to be a 4 or 5 star game only to get tedious and boring the more I played it.

Pros

• Good to excellent renders
• Excellent animations (the best part of the game)
• Good to excellent lewd/sex scenes (often too short however)
• Ashley and Nikki have perfect tits
• Carol, Ashley, and Nikki are my favorite characters in the game
• Unique characters
• Good use of phone apps
• Lots of content to play through
• Some fun can be found
• Some entertainment can be found
• Some humor can be found

Cons

• All girls share the same body type - thin and small boned. It looks like the author used the same character model for all the girls and just made minor changes so they didn't look like clones. IMO, they kind of all do look like clones!
• The girls also share the same face with only minor differences between them. The author attempts to justify this in the 'Developer Notes' section on the OP but his explanation offers nothing of benefit. He has a certain look that he likes and explains that he has to make them all look similar so he cares about them???
• Character models all have perfect porcelain skin (no skin flaws of any kind). It makes all the character feel less human and doll like. Freckles is all that is added to a few character models.
• I've grown tired of playing the same MC type - weak, pathetic, spineless, loser, who has little going for him besides his big dick.
• I've also grown tired of the same porn logic being used over and over again - the slightest look or touch of the MC's dick makes all girls instantly wet, horny, and eager to try it.
• English problems throughout the game. Some parts of the game are fairly clean but others have frequent spelling errors and the wrong words being used. The text doesn't appear to have been proofread.
• The hottest girl in the game IMO Ashley, is kept out of reach from the MC for most of the game. She is also given a self-destructive personality and is both naive and stupid at times. Way to ruin the hottest girl in the game dev.
• The author frequently pulls the rug out from under the player with the various love interests in the game mid to late in the story. For example, say you are interested in a certain girl and then the author drops a bombshell which would have turned you off to the girl if you knew about it in the beginning.
• After playing the game for a while I started skipping through conversations since I knew they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. The writing is too verbose for my tastes.
• The game pace is painfully slow.
• I got bored with the story multiple times. I wish I could put my finger on it but the game failed to keep me interested and invested often. The introduction to the game was great and then once all the main characters get introduced the game proceeds with a tedious heaviness.
• The whole plot line with the redheaded gym teacher felt weird and was full of bad porn logic.
• I never really connected with any of the characters. The writing just didn't compel me to really care about any of them much (a very bad thing to happen in a visual novel).
• Scratching my head as to why the author poured so much time into the "bonus scenes" that aren't canon instead of improving the main game and story!
• Character development is poor overall. There's lots of text, dialog, and plot lines but few really help the player get to know these girls and get invested in them. An exception to this was the fun 'spin the bottle' event.
• I was disappointed in the rapey Rachel scene. The relationship was progressing nicely with a slow burn approach and then the MC is tired of waiting and nearly rapes Rachel. Rachel continually says "NO" but the MC doesn't listen and proceeds anyway. This event really damaged my perception of the MC. I really didn't care for the MC much after this.
• I was really upset with one of the Roxy scenes where she gives the player a blowjob during a lecture at the university. The player is given the option to turn it into a forced deepthroat. Roxy gets quite upset and the MC takes a large relationship hit by making this choice. So let me get this straight, Roxy is allowed to push limits and act like a horny slut but if the MC attempts to turn the tables on her, he gets punished?!?!
• If the MC takes the Dom route with Roxy being a Sub it closes her path
• The MC is such a pussy. He wins the grand prize at the frat party and gets to have sex with Ivy. The MC expresses his desire to go for a 2nd round after fucking Ivy's ass and filling it with cum. Ivy easily talks the MC out of this and gets him to call it quits - hell no! WTF?!?!
• The game often suffers from, "I wouldn't be making these choices, act this way, or go in this direction." I had a real problem getting immersed in both the characters and the story.
• Most plot threads are half-baked, some get abandoned or forgotten for long periods of time. A perfect example of this is the MC being a basketball player. The MC never expressed a desire to be a basketball player, he never tried out for the team. He never told Carol that he wanted to be a basketball player. Carol just signed him up for no apparent reason and the MC just goes along with it like being on a college basketball team is no big deal.
• Scenes are often cut short for the same reason - being short on time. Everyone is super busy and have to run off to another commitment. Sex scenes are even cut short for this same reason. It not only got old but became cringeworthy.
• Sex scenes are usually well done but often too short. Once the MC cums once, sex is over. I'm puzzled why so many authors fall into this thinking. The MC is in his prime and should be able to cum multiple times during sex. Nope, cum once and sex is over. There were two instances that I can remember where it said that the MC had more than one orgasm but it never shows it (just says it happened briefly in the text). Never cut sex scenes short! Huge mistake!

The game is largely about the MC solving everyone else's problems and being a white knight, coming to their rescue.

The game has a university setting but through most of the story, it plays a minor role overall. Through half the game I didn't feel like I was a college student.

A huge problem I have with the game is how the author drops bombshells with most of the girls later on in the story. Bombshells that can completely change the player's opinion of that girl. So if you choose a girl to be your main love interest, the author may pull the rug out from under you later on. The author loves to destroy good characters. These aren't the type of plot twists that players generally enjoy, myself included.

I have major issues with how the author handles Roxy. She acts like a carefree horny slut all the time who loves to push limits but if the MC attempts to turn the tables on her by being aggressive or dominant it closes her path. I understand that she had some bad experiences in the past but closing her path off was a bad decision by the author.

Probably my biggest gripe with the game is how the author wastes your time. Say it takes 500 words to thoroughly relay a thought, situation, or feeling (just as an example). Well, the author uses 5,000 words to relay the same information, without adding anything new or helpful by the extra 4,500 words. The writing is filled with unnecessary "fluff" which causes the game pace to proceed with a tedious heaviness! It also causes boredom where I'm often losing interest in the game/story.

The big thing that a lot of developers don't seem to comprehend is that more writing does not equate to GOOD writing. In fact, many bad writers fill their stories with pages and pages of worthless text.

If you like the look and feel of the game (renders, character models, faces) then the game may be worth a playthrough. The animations are the best part of the game! The developer is to be congratulated on the excellent animations. The game also has plenty of lewd/sex scenes that are well done but there's lots of story in between them that I felt was dry. The choice is up to you.

This AVN had a really strong start, but the quality just keeps on dropping the further you get into it.

The renders are pretty good for the most part, although the dev really could improve on the models expressions. Half the time Carol looks like a creepy serial killer because her expression rarely change from massive smile. Other characters suffer from this as well to varying degrees. Also, others have mentioned the model diversity to be lacking, so I won't go into that too much, but it is another issue.

The main letdown is the writing. The dialogue is very juvenile throughout, but the plotting and relationship development actively gets worse. One example of this is the relationship w/ Rachel. It was a decent slow-burn for awhile, then MC just gets weird w/ this random rapey massage session out of practically nowhere. The redhead gym girls scenes are also weird af and don't even make sense according to porn logic.

On top of this, the "main plot" is this weird clubhouse thing dedicated to taking down the frat/sorority. It is terrible, and thankfully mostly relegated to the background.

Overall, I can't recommend this game. I stayed awhile because I liked some of the characters, but the main plot gets stupider and the relationship development is very poor.

I'm usually very stingy with ratings but this one is a favorite.

Gameplay: 4.5/5

VA clicker with some choices. I find the choices mostly benign, but that's better than way too many choices with barely any consequences and it's appreciated over no choices at all for a bit of context and making some of the later stuff feel more earned. Not perfect, but if a VA has to have choices, this is probably how I'd do it too.

Sex: 4.5/5

A ton of work put into the poses, camera, lighting, dialogue, and scenarios. Everything is high quality AND high quantity. As is appropriate for a porn game, there is enough porn and just enough framework around the porn to justify it. Couldn't ask for more or better really except in 2 ways.

1. All the girls' body types and some of their faces are a bit too similar, but I really can't complain about that as the type is very much in my wheelhouse.

2. The sex dialogue is a bit wonky on the english. Certain phrases that I don't think anyone uses in sex are repeated a bit too often. Things like "go wild inside me" are just bizarre, though there aren't too many and the scenes are hot enough to forgive them and the dev seems to be getting better on each iteration.

Plot: 3.5/5

This game is ironically titled because honestly, there aren't many problems at this university, at least not ones that have complex solutions.

The whole things is very generic and safe. Most plot threads are half-baked, some get abandoned or forgotten for long periods of time only to be barely acknowledged before being put back in the jar to pretend to care about later. It isn't bad, it's just a basic framework to get our protagonist from one girl to the next, and that's totally fine. I do find myself skipping a lot of dialogue with certain characters when I know it isn't going anywhere. While the characters are pretty strong in terms of personality and goals, they all fall very quickly into having their "problems" solved with minimal generic sweet-talk from the MC.

A few points off here, but the sex is so good that it still earns a 5 regardless. The game is easily a top 10.
