Nergal does have a history of being late, but from how he worded his response I wouldnt expect an update till late october

Nergal should not have promised bi-monthly updates if he didn't know that 100% of the time, he would be able to deliver. Or, at the very least, he should have posted an update on the Subscribestar (not everyone is on his Discord), saying "Oh, sorry, the update will be delayed. Stuff happens and I apologize."
Again, I am in no way, shape or form trying to flame him - I'm pointing out that if he promises something and fails to deliver it - especially with no word publically available (meaning on Subscribestar), he's shooting himself in the foot.

On the other hand, Nergal flat out stated "If they (Nergal:co) makes enough money, they're guaranteed to make bi-monthly updates." (Case in point: see the first post on this very page).
This is solely Nergal:co's fault for promising something that they in turn are incapable of finishing on time.
I'm not trying to throw shade at anyone - I'm pointing out that being a content creator, you need to keep your promises you made or you'll shoot yourself in the foot.
It's less pressure and more of a "Dude, you made a promise. Now keep it."
If Nergal had made a post on subscribestar saying "Hey, this update will most likely be delayed, sorry about that," the people constantly asking would have been much fewer.

I really don't get why Nergal even bothered promising these bi-monthly releases. The update either ends up coming out half-finished with the rest coming the following month, or just gets delayed altogether.
I decided to write after all, because I don’t quite understand this trend where the loudest complaints usually come from those who just download the game for free (pirated). Why do you even care that there’s another delay? Okay, I agree it’s bad that Nergal only mentioned the delay today, but it’s not really up to freeloaders to be the ones talking about it.
I’m sure there are people here who actually pay and still wrote about this postponed update — but in that case, write in Discord and ask directly why the delay happened again. If you don’t like it, then, I don’t know, just stop following the game — as silly or obvious as that may sound.

I don't argue that a promise is a promise and they should be kept, but why is this happening here and not on Discord? Why on a pirate site?

I personally care less about there being a delay (real life happens, no two ways about it) and more that a content creator (like Nergal) should be careful with promising a lot (in this case, bi-monthly builds) and not delivering on it.
Delays happens - I don't question it. The lack of communication is what I'm commenting on.
To answer your next question (why it doesn't happen on Discord): because he would consider it harassment -> the person would get banned -> someone else would ask Nergal why he promises bi-monthly builds if that doesn't happen -> Nergal would say "I was harassed and dropped the game, good job idiots" because... they asked him to keep his promises that he, himself, made.
It's less "We don't want to" and more "it's sadly to avoid Nergal once again abandoning the game".
The only reason I, personally, follow the remake is because it's from the original game that I found this site (I was looking for a walkthrough). Had it not been for that, I wouldn't have stuck around for the remake.

Additionally, a lot of people on this site, myself included, do in fact financially contribute to creators.
It isn't really fair to assume everything you read on F95 is posted by some freeloader.
This site is by FAR the best discovery tool in the entire space.

For those writing, remember.
1. Nergal is still working on the game.
2. You're on a free (pirated) webpage.
3. He allowed the content donors to unsubscribe and get the game before the next month.
4. He is really trying. He got us updates with only one character, but updates with two characters and replay scenes for those already updated. Including new scenes for the replay scenes.
5. This is a remaster. People already talked badly about the fact that it is a remaster instead of a new game. In fact, the original wasn't Urban Demons, but Urban x Life, which was adopted by him after being abandoned twice.

This leaves two new issues.
First, since bi-monthly are no longer happening, we no longer have a roadmap to follow. That alone is a huge red flag, solely because now, we have no idea who gets added at part of what update. So for people waiting for specific character(s), they will have no knowledge when their preferred characters shows up. For people pledging (or subscribing, I have no idea what it's called on Subscribestar; I'm only supporting a couple of people on Patreon), they might feel as if they got the rug pulled from under their feet.
Second, Nergal should not have promised those bi-monthly updates to begin with.
If he had said "I will attempt to release bi-monthly updates as time allows," it would have been a non-issue.
Once again, I am in no way shape or form trying to flame him. I'm pointing out that he's very close to shooting himself in the foot and one misstep from now on will cause him to shoot himself in the foot.

Most people in this forum are seriously laughable for real. Unless you're a subscriber to ANY dev and you've paid money, you shouldn't be expecting anything. The updates will be released when they are released and delays happen for whatever reason. Even if a game is abandoned people have no reason to cry about it if they haven't paid a single cent. There are proper channels for people who pay and don't get their product to both complain and act on it. So stop whining, be patient and be grateful any of these games gets releases. In the meantime, find something else to fap to.
