Great game with great potential.
Characters are likeable, diverse and you can choose between brawn or brains.
Humor is also pretty good, and together with the plot it gets you easily going even when you aren't having hot steamy snu snu with buff norse women.

The viking era setting with exploration & adventuring theme is unique and definitely has potential.

Though it has little content, the characters & protagonist are well written and distinct from each other.

Although its just an introductory chapter, it already captivates the audience. A shame it got abandoned.

Development is unfortunately slow, and the Dev has been quite candid about the fact that the game won't be receiving updates in any sort of regular fashion. Which is fine, but also new players can't expect much in terms of content at least at the moment. That being said, what is available is promising in the quality of entertaining humor and available story branches to follow. I played around through a few of the bigger divergences and I did get the impression that the MC's characterization and relationships were effected meaningfully. I will be very curious to see what the creator has in mind for how the story unfolds given the possible choices players can make. Though the humor is far from fitting for the setting, it's self-aware enough that it almost reads like parody, or that the absurdity is in itself a larger meta joke, and I really enjoyed that writing style. I don't know when we'll see more of this game, but I am excited to see it nonetheless!

My review of Vinland [v0.1.8a Public]

A very good "game".
Good story, writing, characters, graphics and sound.
It even has branching paths and meaningful choices.

The huge problem with this "game" is that it's basically just a short teaser with 1 hour of content after more than 2 years of development.
No point in playing something the stops half-way through the intro and will never be finished.

Good game but short for now. Vikings themed games that's the biggest thing which makes you play this game. Good writing and story, of course good renders too.

You can play in two path the ferocious and cute redhead's path and cunning and elegant blonde's path

I READ A ARTICLE IN LEWD PIXEL THAT IS AN INTERVIEW WITH THIS DEV THAT HAPPENED 1 YEAR AGO. FROM THAT I FOUND DEV REALLY LOVED MAKING THIS GAME. HE ALSO SAID HE KNOW WHO WILL DIE, BETRAY AND BE WITH YOU. AND YES DEV IS A BIG FAN OF VINLAND SAGA.

I really don't wish to see this game getting abandoned

[v0.1.8] quite early version, so not too much contents yet, but what is there is great so far!

story is refreshingly original and interesting, writing (in particular dialogues) good and funny, characters (LIs and support cast!) are interesting and mostly relatable and likeable. And remarkably MC is funny and charming! Arts and renderings are good, music is fine.

I am bit surprised that the whole game so far seems to consist of two disjoint paths (brains or brawns) [update: rather 4, brains or brawns, on brains ship or brawns ship. all 4 are great fun!]; while this improves the "replay value" I hope such generous branching will not slow down development too much...
(And as a side note: While I usually strongly prefer brain routes, in this instance the brawn LI is so hilariously attractive that I make an exception in this game...)

An extremely promising game. Renders are great and writing is good... MC is witty and interesting. The setup is also very unique, I love viking stories so much... Looking forward to the upcoming contents...

The story and gameplay are very very good, characters and design are super. I hope the story continues and the game gets better with a new update soon. The topic in the game is very good I hope it continues and the game will not be abondened. 8.5/10

Really promising game! Enjoy the writing and the artwork. I'm sure having to account for so many player choices is a pain, but I suppose it also increases replayability. Excited to see where it goes next

A very promising beginning, there isn't much content but one could say that there are very important choices that diverge the story/characters you interact with greatly.

The writing is good, fun. There seem to be some mysteries to be explained in the future, and it's a good hook, as are the female models - each beautiful in it's own way.

A very atypical adult VN I would say.

Even though it's very short right now, it's very enjoyable therefore I highly recommend it.

Excellent adult VN with great style, humor, personalities, beautiful women, all within an accurate depiction of the Viking Age (check the disclaimer).

This is an RPG in the classic sense of deciding how a defined character develops. Is he a warrior, scholar, a mix (no warlars yet but maybe someday), motivated by fame, adventure, obligation, sarcasm, wants people to like him, respect him, etc?

The art is well done and expressive. There's some porn but not much yet with the focus on story and choices.

The branching is impressive and rewards experimentation. A couple playthroughs based on the main branches will show most of the content, but only dedicated players are going to see all the slight variations with multiple playthroughs.

CTRL skipping to see differences (which can be as small as whether a nickname is known and used) is a helpful tool.

Potential to be one of the best games on the site. Absolutely crisp and beautiful renders along with flawless writing.

We've already been introduced to whole bevy of characters, all with their unique personalities and it feels like each character has a solid amount to contribute to the story line.

Early on, this seems to be a game that will focus quite a bit of its attention on its story line rather than cramming sexual content.....and the games that do that tend to be better than most. I can't wait to see what future updates bring

Humor, authentic scandinavian music and atmosphere
Really enjoyed that MC is not blank, has personality and camera actually shows him quite often.
No sex scenes but if you are like me - a sucker for story and characters - then you will definitely enjoy this project.
A long way ahead and I'm looking forward to the next updates

This is really good so far!
The Characters are especially the highlight for me personally right now, they are all fun in their own way and seem to have a good background story with it.
Music is also setting the mood perfectly imo.

Just to let you know, there is not much content yet(about 20-40 minutes) but you have to know that this game will feature multiple routes.

Can´t wait to see more in future updates.

It's a great game. I'm interested to see where it's going. It has some meaningful choices. Good storytelling, and beautiful renders. It's still pretty early on, but it's a really good start. It is original and interesting.

Vinland is a really fun game. Humor and history is mixed in a really good way. Game is funny but it can be normaly historical too. Renders and girls are beautiful. Lewd scenes are hot and choices seems matter.

You play as a young Viking about to set sail on a grand adventure that will turn you into a legend for the ages. Or at least that's the plan. You can choose to be either a warrior or a scholar, and you can choose which of two ships you want to sail away on. These two choices seem to determine which of the four main paths we will be on. There is also a fair bit of variety on each path, so replaying the game with different choices is quite rewarding.

The game is very lighthearted so far, and more than a little bit silly at times. It's hard to rate because it's still in the early stages, but there isn't anything to complain about so far, so you can't really ask for more than that I suppose.

Games with branching paths always develop at a slow pace, which is why its such a bad idea to add worthless side content that does nothing to advance the plot and only bogs the game down. The scene about Avalina was painfully awkward, and the game would be much better without it. It sticks out like a sore thumb, and it is a major blemish on what had been a very promising game.

I would give it an excellent rating, but for some reason my game stops at the end of the first chapter. I am not the biggest fan of the dialogue, but I do appreciate that it is humorous. I wish there was like a hold ctrl and text starts fast skipping dialogues. I do like that the game is a viking type game. Really hoping for more content. keep it up and stay safe.

I feel like this game is one of those things that you encounter once in a million times and you regret nothing about it. Nothing that hasn't been said already, just fucking amazing. The writing, the characters, the music, the feelings, this game just really makes you encounter with yourself in a lot of ways and generates such a special place in your memory. Amazed by the amazable. Can't wait to see this proyect grow more and more.

Potential to be a all-time classic if it gets the proper level of support for the developer.

Overall I think this is up there with some of best up-and-coming adult VNs coming out (as of this review). While it's still pretty early in it's story, it's clear that the author is both a talented writer and artist. Renders are nice, maybe not the best out there but the characters are pretty unique and are varied, not a copy paste from generic DAZ models. The writing has tons of humor and is clear that the author has a historical understanding of the time period he is writing this story in. I highly recommend this game going forward.
