VN - Ren'Py - Onhold - Violation Nation [Ep 6] [Wet Avocado Games]

⠀ Apart from mediocre visuals and infantile writing, the game features poorly thought out binary choice system that is not only black and white, but also assumes that you're strictly following one of two distinct paths. For example, somewhere down the line you may choose to have sex with your companion, and the dialogue during intercourse suggest that you have already done this and that you're sadistic prick, even if this is their first sex and you've been roleplaying as a nice guy this entire time. Another egregious example is when you make decision whether you're fine or not with your daughter sleeping in her underwear, and later on MC will scold her for not wearing pants in the bed regardless of what you chose.
⠀ Speaking of writing, why are characters so nonchalant about their situation? You've been put in a MFing hunger games and you decide to try out pretty outfits in a clothing store? You'd rather sleep outside on a dirty ground because there was a corpse indoors? You'd give up valuable vital supplies for a quickie with a complete stranger? Main character was sent to remote murder island by his colleague because.......... he didn't like him??? Idk, maybe there is a big plot twist in plans akin to Oldboy, but for now it doesn't seem like it.
⠀ And lore is kinda nonsense. A UN-like organization is hosting an annual battle royale? Really? Not even a secret billionaire club or something? And for what? Social experiment? Prank? Entertainment? Why exactly two randoms from every country? How is that even legalized? World seems totally normal and intact, basically irl 21st century earth, there isn't an imminent apocalypse looming over society or anything like that. The suspension of disbelief just isn't there for me.

Love the story going on so far.
Character relations are decently fleshed out.
Love the premise as well, Battle royale setting with your enemy (Boss) in control of your surroundings.

Although its disheartening to see updates coming so slow.
Waiting impatiently for future updates.

The concept of the story is fine and all until the sex scene's happen.

Because everything up too the scenes being shown are "Choice Based Checks" then the scenes are a Kinetic novel let down, unless

its THE worst desicion include the daughter in the island she is just a copy paste whiny little girl from other games but in survival theme.....

every two second girls taken hostage and let go like nothing happened its like pinnacle of bad writing

antagonist hates our guy for no reason and wants to watch us have sex??? what? why? who are you? why does he hate my guts but doesnt want me to die? why do you wanna watch me have sex? why my daughter here? why am i divorced without reason? Is anybody gonna answer these questions?

The issue with this game is that the emotional aspect of the decisions isn't really felt by the character's reactions to what is happening.

And some of the decisions don't really flow because there is no real requirement prior to making a decision. As an example, if you use the teacher for gratification, then give her the choice to leave; she stays with the exact same dialogue as if you were trying to romance by being prince charming. It also gives you the romance flag I chose that path even if it doesn't really make sense or flow with how she is being used elsewhere.

It is also possible to make the daughter more violent, which should make them more useful in the future or a psychopath, but it never really works out that way. She still acts timid and has the same response when making the choice to kill regardless.

What I would have liked to have seen is for all the decisions prior to be baked into the decision to kill or not then have the father try to either sustain that path or move the character towards a different one.

In any case these are what I would have liked to see for it to be a five star game. It's still a four star game based on the renders and quality which is still well above average for a porn game. The other knock though is the sex scenes they are good but way to short it's impossible for this to be used as an actual porn game. It's more of a story with nudity and sex scences which is why the sort of emptiness of the decision making is disappointing

I loved!!! The progression seemed adequate to me, in the current version 0.0.5 there is enough content to see the quality that the game will have from now on. I will be excitedly waiting for the next updates.

It's a decent enough start but it kinda irks me that there are some narrative inconsistencies depending on the choices you make.

For instance there's a scene where you can choose to tell your daughter that you're cool with her sleeping pantless if that's what she's comfortable with, but regardless of what you choose the MC will still chew her out for not wearing pants later.

Also if you haven't previously had sex with Zarja but later decide to do so she'll ask you not to cum inside her again. Maybe I'm meant to be reading into this the idea that they've been boning off screen but since up to that point I'd been a perfect gentleman and never took advantage of her, well, I gotta assume this is an issue that should be rectified.

Those problems aside though it is as I said - a good start - and I'm keen to see this game improve over time.

A 42 year old "man" who apparently has the brain of a horny teenager. I get that there's an innate desire to always fuck in men, but there's something called self control which the MC does not have. All too often he leaves himself exposed to his girls getting captured that I almost find myself thinking this is going to be one of those terrible NTR VNs. To make it worse we're supposed to believe the MC had some kind military/survival skills.

Terrible writing and worse characterization. Not an ounce of subtlety or nuance to any interaction. Full of familiar pitfalls of amateur writing.

It's ugly to look at, hard to read, and doesn't execute well on its premise. I'm not returning to this.

Not a bad game, but the scenes go to fast to sex, i like that the MC had a choice what he will doing. I prefer the good path but kill someone its some time necessary for their surive. As a ex-army and with his qualification he know some is not a coincidence so the meeting with his daughter etc. I like the scene his daughter kiss the women so i hope a good relationship come back later in the game between the girls. For his daughter he will be good but he can not this all time, i understand this and it is logical for to suriving. Please no guns in the game, it is to easy to get kill or kill other, but arrow and arc is a posibillity imao. A little longer scenses if he refuse in the beginning sexual offer from the girl , maybye more talk why and so they are begin a real realationship , because he try to be a good man and not become again the bad man in his past. I like the conflict persit a human or be a badass. The MC is a clever man and his daughter a little too naive but a good girl, i hope they learn not to trust to fast other people they meet.
The artwork is good, the storyline is goo too.

I'm a little bias because I loveeee daddy/daughter games, so i am rating it higher because of that. However, I do genuinely like what this is trying to do, I think the setting is the interesting and plot unique. The daughter's British accent/slang can be a annoying at times but it's not too bad.

Looking forward to what the dev does to progress the story.

When I saw the preview, I thought I'd finally seen an original game with an interesting theme.
What's supposed to be a survival game and a life-size experiment on humans in a lawless place, is just a perverse game played by the CEO of a mega-company who doesn't like a member of his board of directors.
Because not only has he managed to get the MC in, but also his daughter, and the MC just finds it strange, but that's for another subject. We're talking about a group of the world's richest and most powerful countries, and one man manages to subjugate them just for his own sadistic pleasure.

Anyway, in the end, rather than survival, we've just got staging against the MC and his group to make a point that's true or false depending on your choices.

Concerning the dialogues, I found it very average, even sometimes horrible, like "tu mas sauver tu es mon héros, personne n'a fait ça pour moi, faisons l'amour!"
And the behavior of the MC's daughter, which is quite horrible and highly variable!

Anyway, the principle could have been good, but I was very disappointed by the way the story unfolded and the dialogues.
For me, it's currently worth no more than 2/5, but as much depends on my principles and personal taste, I'm going to go up to 3/5.

I'll keep an eye on the game to see if it stays in this genre and if the dialogue improves, and if it does I'll change my rating.

A game about cruelty and lust. But nothing significant so far. I didn't like the sex scenes, they are very short, literally a couple of seconds. I can't cum in a couple of seconds. I'm going to have to skip this game.

I like the premise, the storyline (the little bit that's there right now Ep.3) is off to a good start, the writing is OK, renders are pretty good. Obviously lots of things aren't very realistic but the Overview made it pretty clear that it wasn't going to be.
My only real issues are with some of the dialogue, especially the "British" parts. Much of Piper's lines are just weird & Sophie's... well, she feels schizophrenic! One minute she's talking like a posh, private-schoolgirl the next like a broke (1990s/2000s) inner city kid! She uses terms & phrases that are totally incongruent with her background & personality and a few times things that are TOTALLY out of context & make no sense!
PLEASE, if you're going to try & use a country's colloquialisms get someone from that country to proof read (so you don't make yourself look a twat )!

It's got a lot of promise, but it's really barebones right now. Expand on the choices we have, what they do, and give us a better path than just asshole/overly nice person and it has the potential to be fantastic. Right now there's not much to say since there's so little content.

Review Ep 3:

The game is still in pretty early stages, but there is already quite a bit of content, so I think I can see where it's headed.

The premise of the game is a free-for-all battle royale, like the Hunger Games, but without the Sci-Fi part. The story takes place in the near future, without high tech gadgets (so far).

The MC is an ex-military middle aged man who, after leaving the army, had a very successful business career, ending up in the management board of a huge corporation. But his career came at the cost of his family and at the start of the game he hasn't seen his daughter and ex-wife for years.

The game itself consists of making moral choices, either of a sexual or violent nature. At this time you can be either nice or perverted towards female participants and either merciful or merciless towards threatening males. Your boss, who is responsible for your participation in this "game" is watching you through various camera's. For some reason unknown to the player, the boss thinks the MC is a horrible person. Making immoral choices reinforce his beliefs, making moral choices make him doubt his beliefs. He doesn't really like doubt. What this means is not clear yet. It makes sense if your choices influence your further stay in Violation Nation.

All in all, I like the story. It's interesting and it's well presented. There are some language / spelling mistakes but it didn't bother me much.

The renders and characters are attractive.

All in all definitely something that I will follow!

Good game, I like the different paths you can take and I see a lot of potential in it. I hope they don't abandon it. There are very few games of this style that are as good.

I look forward to the update to play the new chapter, I hope I can continue maintaining this line of moral choices and be able to choose between being evil or not.

The game is fun as it currently doesn't punish you for doing whatever you want. The peanut gallery is fucking annoying though and the dev obviously plans to add the daughter and ex to the game which is rather cliche and predictable.

I would rather prefer we could tweak the character origins a bit to prevent that bit of cliche incest stupidity if we wanted to.

Otherwise fairly serviceable and fun for it's short length.

If it helps the devs, my preferred playstyle is capture/recruit all females and kill all males. Which I think should be rather common.

Pretty alright for what it is at time of writing. Characters don't look weird or anything, and the sex scenes are well rendered.

That being said, it's very short, (don't bother downloading the incest patch) and taking the nice choices leads you to miss the majority of sexual content. I hope taking the "good route" in later versions does not lead to no sex at all.

Also, the Protag has a little too much pre-built badassery in my opinion.

The renders are nice and the setting/premise is also good, however the actual story and characters are very weak... The story is kinda predictable, mostly boring and sometimes dumb... Similarly the characters themselves don't have much of a personality worth noting... The MC tries way too hard to look cool and smart and therefore it seems like he's desperate for attention...
