This is a review of the Viper (V) series as a whole, due to this being the 'final' collection from what I can tell.
For those who don't know, The Viper series is well known to older people of culture as one of the best examples of early animation work. The stories in these are not amazing, but they are often, at the very least, interesting and varied.
Many of the games in the series are essentially Visual Novels, while a few have more substantial gameplay. Ironically those games tend to be the worst, due to adding mechanics like unskippable combat animations.
As mentioned, animated scenes are the stars of this series, and they still hold up today. These are classic drawn animation style works, not CG or 3D animations that are far more common with modern games. There's a certain charm to seeing these kind of animations that can't be replicated, and if anyone considers themselves a fan of porn, you should at least see one of these in action to appreciate the difference.
Its unfortunate that these games were so difficult to produce. Its unlikely you'll see anything on the same quality and style level as the animations in these games ever again. As games, they tend to be rather lacking, thus the loss of a star, but overall they come highly recommended if nothing else for the animated scenes.
