I'm going to scrap my 300GB, 7000-item VAM install and go back to nothing, and hopefully keep a better handle on what's installed. I'm looking for recommendations on how to best keep it under control, and essentials to get.
Current plan is to get a baseline setup (favourite vars, utilities including prereqs) and pop it in a folder, then keep everything else loose so I can delete easier later. Only issue I can see with that is if I decide something is worth keeping later, pre-reqs won't come with it. But can solve that after a reset by running Boss's Sharp VAM Tool against it.
Things I'm keeping as a baseline:
External Utilities
Sharp VAM Tool
DeDuplicator
In-Engine Utilities
HuntingSuccubus (Emissive, Eyes, other plugins)
AcidBubbles Collection (Embody, Timeline, often a pre-req)
BrowserAssist
Everlaster (Tittymagic and co)
CUA Manager and CUA Superglue
RedEyes (Divining addons, GiveMeFPS)
Scenes
Select scenes from:
ZenMocap
CuddleMocap
AlpacaLaps
Casual (Some looks too)
VAMFantasy
Looks
Select looks from:
Mopedlampe
Eros
Paledriver
CandyCity
PikaVAM
Thoughts on the above, and any suggestions of utilities I've missed off?
I'm also open to suggestions. Generally I think:
Apologies if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't find a similar thread with the search, and thought it would be a bit too derail-y for the main VAM thread.

I'm also open to suggestions. Generally I think:
- Alternative controls and player-directed action aren't in the best place right now (voice commands, self-directed characters - Realfeel etc). The most direction a scene can take and still work well is something like afobapple's
You must be registered to see the links- a list of animations, and various knobs to turn. I've given VamX a go before, but it feels more limited vs loading into a pre-animated scene and customizing characters/lighting as I want. Happy to be proved wrong, though.
- Scenes, generally after proactive females. I tend to play in seated VR/Embody, so static scenes or scenes that move the character work best. Gentle femdom vibes, no great violence on either side. Some of the ones listed do great things with expressions/lightning which help, along with not going crazy with movement.
- Looks, very happy to get recommendations for odd/horror/fantasy characters. For normal humans what makes the difference is textures/lighting - some of the more prolific creators/model porters go with a more flat texturing and skew faces towards anime. Which can be fine, but not everyone needs Overwatch skin.
- Clothing/hair I ended up with way too much of, and I rarely make looks from scratch, instead jamming together a morph I liked with a hair/outfit from another character. If anyone know of a good way to keep a handle on the amount of clothing/hair you end up with, let me know. I do download the odd feature outfit (a couple of bodysuits, a few lingerie sets, virgin killer...), but for the most part it's just wholesale taking from other characters.
Apologies if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't find a similar thread with the search, and thought it would be a bit too derail-y for the main VAM thread.
