I want to make this post short and sweet, But I don't think I can, because I have a lot to say. I'm looking for a visual novel where the main character is indifferent or has an indifferent choice. I am sick and tired of the stories where the main character tries to be Captain Save a Hoe. Or the main character gets so emotional that he sounds like a B I T C H. I'm sick and tired of the story saying we control the character and choose his options. But when I choose the option, I have to hear him complain about the outcome. Why is he complaining in a monolog? it should be his own choice. He shouldn't be complaining about it. It should be what he wants.

Here are some example

The main character is dating a girl that he doesn't care about. She's just for sexual purposes. She cheats He doesn't care. He doesn't get emotional about it. He either. allows it to happen and be indifferent. break it off with her and be indifferent. Now they can have other options as well, like he cares. He chooses to. get angry. That's fine. I know people are going to say that's a lot of work for the author. I get it. I understand. But a main character should not get emotionally attached to every single girl. If a hoe wants to be a hoe, let the hoe be a hoe. And for the people that saying, oh, I don't like NRT. there could be tasteful in NRT, meaning for the girls that you don't care about Who cares what they do? I like a good wank like everyone else If a girl is getting smashed by some random guy. I'm going to choke the chicken. Just because the main character is not interested in that person. why do you have to cut off all of your creative work? Use that girl seen with a drop-in of some other guy. That way we're not missing the scene. We still. get to see it. but it's just not our character. Make it so in a way. She's trying to make us jealous. our doing it as revenge with like our rival or our bully or something. That way your hard work won't just disappear in the. ether. Or if we want to cheat on a girl that we are indifferent about. I don't want to sit up here and try to jump through hoops. to be with her. to make her feel better. I know some games. make the main character act like a pathetic excuse of an alpha, but wants to portray him as an alpha.

I understand the meaning of cause and effect. Whatever I choose, there's going to be in effect some type of action. I get it. But I really believe there's a genre of visual. a novel that we're just skipping over or. that I'm missing. I can't seem to find whether. the main character does sound like he cares. about every girl he **** I mean, why do you the main character have to care about every girl? Yes. Thumb girl finds herself in a situation. Why do the main character have to drop everything and try to save her?

Give you an example.

The main character is walking out of a clubhouse. a girl that he is currently talking to. on his arm. He puts her in the car as he's about to take her home. out the corner of his eye. He sees one of his ex-girlfriends who broke up with him in the past. in a peculiar situation. Being surrounded by a secluded dark area. by a group of four guys. He thinks they're sexually harassing her. His options are one. intervene. He either doing it to try. to try to rekindle the path or doing. it's just because he's a decent guy. Two watch. and you can have some other things to go with it as well. 3. Don't watch and leave. 3 a. Main character doesn't watch but I as. the person who's controlling him gets to see what happens.

And for the people that's talking about, Oh no, you can't have that type of content. What are you talking about? It was her birthday and, she wanted a Gangband in a dirty alley at night. so shit got what she wanted to be used like a slut and dump for the rats

Yeah, no. You just have to find a visual novel where the main character defaults to being indifferent. Can't play a VN where the main character's default personality is captain save-a-hoe and then try to steer him to be sigmachad. That's a ridiculous amount of work for a dev to pull off. Using your own example, giving 3 different choices for saving the girl, ignoring her, or watching, you're basically creating 3 different stories at that point, since your choice changes the relationship dynamics with that girl significantly. All branching paths need to share some scenes or else it will become extremely tedious for a developer to create 3 paths that have completely exclusive scenes until the end of the game. Again, that's just making 3 different games at that point. Your other option is that a developer creates shared paths choosing an in-between option where sometimes, even though on your playthrough you want to be an asshole, the main character comes off as a simp. Lose lose. Better off that the dev just gives you different choices based off the the protagonist's set personality (half-simp, simp, super-simp), that way the shared scenes can feel somewhat logical given all the possible choices.

But yeah, find a visual novel where the protagonist is by default an indifferent asshole. The visual novels that allow you to be either an insane maniac or a simp are few and far between. I can't recommend any because I don't play them myself.

First and foremost, I want to thank you for. replying and reading.

And let me be more clear I'm not looking for the main character to start off being. captain Save a hoe. I want him to be indifferent. That way, the main character doesn't. sound like he's getting his heart broken every time. a love entrance. It's mad at him or something. If I like one waifu more than the other. I don't care what the main character likes. Jane. if I told him to not pursue her why do I have to hear him complain about it? Jane? If I'm controlling him if I'm choosing his route. why do I have to listen to him complain about? the choices Then I'm not really making the choice then. If I have to listen to him, cry about it.

And about the example of the three scenarios I gave I can find ways to blend her story into. the main story. without. genuinely care for her. and also genuinely. caring for her Depending on which way the user wants. to. control the main character. And let's say I just want the main character to watch and get some type of fetish of watching his ex. be used. in a particular way. but that fetish only works with her as a. revenge type fetish. or kink. Lastly, he doesn't care The main character walks away. but I'm not going to give up the opportunity for the developer to use his creativity to have fun.

Also What I think is the problem with most visual. novels. Is that if they honestly want you to have control over the MC thoughts and moves and what he chooses to do. I understand for some Storytelling you have to file a script. But I've Tried to start with so many B. n.'s. where the storytelling complete. contradict itself. in the first. 30 minutes of play.

Here is an example from a very popular one. I think it's called Ethram.

And please understand I understand. that they need some way to make it plot whisk. I get it. But it makes no sense. It just doesn't. They build this game up to away. where you can't hack it. You can't do anything to get through the back door. So I'm like okay. Cool. At the very beginning, they even say that people try. but it's almost impossible. If not, state is completely impossible. I can't remember word for word. but I haven't played it in a while. but. at the very start of it. You find some mystical Artifact trying not to spoil stuff. And their excuses. It must be a. must be a fake. They never gave any knowledge. Prior to that, there have been fakes of these mystical piece that only a few people have exist. to hack. though they say. There's never been a single teeth at. Ever confirmed? that a fake mystical thing? has been sold or found, but somehow they found a fake one. What? How does that make logic? So you're saying the author or developer of the game? They found something that's even rare. More rare than that. actual peace They found a fake one. Has ever been brought into existence of the story? of the storytelling, but somehow they found it. Well, they believe it's fake than to actually believe it's real. How does that logic make sense?
