I've seen a small number of games try to do voice acting, and in general I don't think that's worth it unless it's something bug budget and really well done. What I do think works are things like snippets of voiced sex scenes. Things like moaning and groaning, dirty talk, gagging, slurping noises, etc. Things like slapping noises, bed frame thumping, mattress creaking, etc would also be viable candidates.

It seems like you could reuse a lot of that for many different characters, especially if the voices were in whispers or muffled or whataver like you might expect from a sex scene so the voice could conceivably match any character of the right gender. Where do people find stuff like that? Comissions? Fan submissions? Sounds ripped from pornos? Most games don't seem to use it but I've seen some that do it pretty well and to me it really adds to the scene if it's done well (but it detracts from it if done poorly).

I find those really annoying.

10 times out of 10 the sex noises are so bad they are funny but i've never found they add anything to a game.

If a game has voice acting i'll give it a listen or if it has decent music but if it's just shitty sound effects it gets muted and i'll put some power ballads on.

I agree that it has to be well done or it's counterproductive. I've heard bad implementations as well and I mute those too, but just like I find that well done music adds to the atmosphere, a little well done dirty talk or moaning or whatever adds to the scene if it fits. If it doesn't match the scene then it's immersion breaking though.

I generally prefer a game without voice acting unless it's on the level of something like Dragon Age where I get to be seduced by Claudia Black's voice, even if she's being insulting :)
