I love the game and dev, but i just find it funny that they never hit an announced release date.

Yeah, they have trouble sticking to a release date which can be a bit frustrating to be hyped up only for a last minute delay. My advice whenever they announce a release date to keep a buffer in mind usually no more than a week so not too bad.
