VN - Unity - Ren'Py - WaifuHub [Season 9] [Bokuman Studio]

Concept sounded great, so I grabbed season 1 to start from the beginning and it's kind of... below average. The ui design looks nice. Art is good. Not voiced. No sound effects, there is music and moans that play when you click to the next text box. Music and sound are different sliders in the settings.

Dialogue and narration is average, terrible if you include the filler. Dev tries to pad sex scenes with around 5-10 moans for every 2 lines of dialogue or narration. (Edit: To be clear, every single "Moan" is a separate text box you have to click through) So it just goes something like: You press her head down on your cock. She happily deepthroats you. Moan. Moan. Moan. Moan. Moan. Moan. Moan. You let go of her head. She releases your cock with a pop and looks up at you while licking it. Moan. Moan. Moan-

You get the point. You spend more time clicking through moans one by one then you do reading the narration/dialogue. Also has a bug when if you click a choice, the game lets you click through the next 3 lines, then just rewinds you back to the choice. And now you're stuck in a loop. After 10ish loops (or maybe just a lot of spamming space and clicking) you're free until you get bugged again. Not all choices do this, it's like 1 out of 4. Not specific choices, just happens randomly.

As I said at the beginning, this review is only for season 1. Honestly, it's a 2 star game, but each season is a separate game and it has 8 other seasons so maybe there's improvement? I mean, it's been 6 years. But looking at the other reviews, quite a few of them bring up the same issues and they have played later seasons. Giving an extra star since it still takes work to pump out 9 games.

Thanks for the efforts of those involved in releasing Bokuman's masterpieces, the Waifu Hub.

Been a fan of his since I saw his interpretation of Saki Yoshida on his casting couch, no kidding. Since then, I threw myself too deep into the rabbit hole that is Bokuman, and I'm not regretting it one bit.

Yeah, nobody can deny his artistic skills, let him get their honour.

And to the Ren'Py group, excellent job. 9/10, I'll give you more than 10 if you release all seasons in their full versions on Android, sooner.

The art is very appealing, and the concept is fun, but the writing has a lot of room for improvement, the dialogue is boring enough that I tend to skip most of it.
That said the amount of content here and the quality of it definitely makes this worth your time.

I like the concept and the art is also good, even if it feels very much the same on every character, I liked the comics from the creator which are pretty much the same.

But as games they are bad, the dialogue is boring and the sex talk is trash I don´t want to read "moans" 100 times that is not interesting. There are also just too few CGs when I read he grabs the tits or gives a french kiss, then I want to see it.

TLDR: Great art hides a video where you are occationally forced to reset it

Waifuhub is an incredible idea: Gather up a bunch of popular sexy characters, then let the 'player' bone them. There's actually a wide variety of characters, from all sorts of anime series, and the art is really sexy. A few minor complaints are that the characters are all just a tad out of character. Not enough to say 'that's not Raphtalia', but enough to raise an eyebrow. The other minor issue is that the voices (from what I experienced) are repeated too frequently and annoying.

Here's the major issue: You're forced to, every so often, select one of two choices. One continues the sex scene, the other boots you back to the main menu. And with no auto save or way to revert to a specific choice, you're forced to either accept that you might be wanking at a menu when you wanted waifus, or interrupt your wank every so often with saving, interrupting the scene.

I honestly would've preferred if they'd just put all the choices at the start, then, if you did everything correct, you could get an uninterrupted experience. The issue is that this porn GAME has no interesting gameplay, as it's essentially just a porn video that every minute or so, you have a 50% chance to be forced to reset the video. So when viewing it under the porn game label, the art is nice, but the voice acting gets grating and there's a good chance you can't see the entire scene in one go unless you're lucky. and when viewing it under the porn game label, there's no meaningful gameplay, and when you're gameplay is the same as clicking pause or play on a porn video, you are not good. Disappointing, since getting the early episodes was irritating to find, and required me to use a non-Mega website. Just look for a video of every girl instead.

great game. can't wait to see who's added next. So far many great waifus are available. Only thing that would make the game better would be to combine the seasons into one game, and being able to do the assistants.

This game is not about an anime girl having sex in a porn interview, is about an E-Girl cosplaying as an anime girl in a porn interview, the dialogues are really bad and there is little to none substance because is just a brief interview, nothing personal or development, nothing. The art is ok-ish, is just generic, just like the rest of the game.

Overall... Idk, is not good even if it looks decent.

I tried it again after playing season 1 to see if it got any better, not really. The girls just feel all the same, like the few girls I tried all had VERY similar bodies, only difference being their heads and some of the dialouge so once you've seen one you've seen them all. it's probably a quantity over quality thing with so many different popular waifus but doesn't really feel that great.

Speaking of dialogue, might be a nit pick but spamming "moans" 1000 times between each segment just feels bad, especially since it drags on for too long. If people want to stay on a scene for a while they can easily just keep rolling back and forth with the mouse wheel, no need to put a million moan dialogues in between.

Also the "gameplay" just feels tacked on to make it seem different, sometimes you get a minigame of trying to hit the heart in the middle as the tempo changes for more love points. sure you can skip it but still feels really unnecessary as a desperate attempt to add some "gameplay" rather than it being just another VN.

There's a real temptation here to write a review that's just the word "moans" 150 times.

WaifuHub is pretty insubstantial, I don't know most of these characters, and the first season is the only VN I've ever played where I get a Ren'Py script error when I try to save the game.

It's also cheerful, good-natured, and big on enthusiastic consent, which counts for a lot with me. There's not much to it, but it's about immediately having fun sex with a bunch of anime characters.

Somebody left a review about another game on this site that described it as "basically dessert," and that's WaifuHub: a little empty and forgettable, but entertaining enough while it's there. I don't think it deserves the review shellacking it's gotten, at least based on the first five seasons.

There is a lot of a particular porn pet peeve I have, though, and that's going ass-to-vag without cleanup first. It ruins a bit of the sexy fun for me when I consider that every new employee at WaifuHub walks away from the entry interview with a UTI that could eat through glass.

It has been a long while since I write any YT video essay worthy reviews, and since this game didn't really deserves it, I will keep it quick.

Anyway, WaifuHub is a series of VN base on Waifu on Couch by the same artist. Which is basically the couch casting porn scenario, but with animu waifus.

The premise:
You are the big dick and porn studio owning porn actor, and apparently you exist in the multiverse of every anime and other genre where all the girls from various series just need to apply to shoot porn because various reasons.
So you interview them, which involves sex...even though I don't think that is how real porn casting works.

I agree with most of what you written about the characters and stuff, practically when it comes to the art...even though I think their Bowsette is probably the best I ever seen.

But...um, there is one thing I kind of disagree is, well, your first paragraph.

Yes I kinda like the weird utopia that shooting porn is not seen as something shameful setting this game brings, even though irl porn industries is no where like this.

The Gameplay:
Is a VN, you read and look at the CGs.

Okay not really just that, there are also serval reactional base minigame during the sex, it is serviceable at best.
Tbh people of other reviews said they are crap, imo not really.
Just incredibly mundane and tbh doesn't effect shit unless you are absolutely terrible at it.

And that's about it really, the points doesn't seem to unlock anything other then being there to flex to an non-existence crowd that is.

The Artstyle:
Like that other reviewed I mention above, my opinion is basically similar to theirs.
Bokuman's style can get stale at some point since every girl are tits and ass all the way, with the worst offender being probably Marin from My Dress-Up Darling in Season 6.
Like seriously, her boobs are way too fucking big even by her standard, the whole body proportion is just off.

But on the flipside, they probably has the best Bowsette portrayal I ever seen.
I mean, she is already all tits and ass in most artworks...and this game just capture it perfectly.

Speaking of which, remember that -1 star because no coom for Bowsette? That is something this game suffers from probably the most servere: There are just not enough CGs...oh sure, there are a lot, like 50+ per character.
But they often do things way too complex for one CG, and during the interview part they only have one experession, which just looks lazy...even then it is still kinda fine.
But they can't even bother to made a separate CG of cooming for most chatacters, especially when the texts said so.
I can excuse no expression or complex stuff movement, this is a VN after all.
But no coom for in an adult game in which the text clearly said there is coom, what the fuck?

The Story/Presentation:
As said, is just couch casting, but with waifus.
Tho as written above, I am aware they make this porn shooting seems fun and shit compare to the real life porn industry...but please, this is a game, let them have fun.

What I can't excuse is, as that other review reference above said, the characters just have generic personality most of the time...like I know no one human is capable to know how all these characters works, but still. Most of them just default to either closet pervert, or fucking slut.
Than again, Bowsette being the one works better due to not having a fixed personality since she has no canon.
I like how they make her a kinky bitch that do whatever the fuck she want, consider who she originally is...

One other thing I have to mention is after they move to Unity in Season 6, the image quality only become shitter...like seriously, why move to that platform?
To prevent rollback on Minigames that doesn't seem matter? Hell I didn't even try to rollback on that one, so hell do I know.

In conclusion/TL;DR:
To be honest, this is not a very good game...even though the above review doesn't seem to paint it that way, instead of just being average at best.

TL;DR with art range from generic to fine, a plot that isn't too serious but still full of cliché, a minigame that doesn't seem to matter, and a lack of CGs on parts that matters.
This game gets a rating of "Only download if your favorite girl never get an adult game but she is in here, somehow."
I know that is why for me.

the game is basicly a well drawn VN with an annoying minigame that is repeated 5 times for each of the 8 girls.
the minigame very distracting, covers half the screen and reduces the quality of the sex scenes .
thankfully you can skip it but sadly it also skips the scene.

switching to a new engine (season 6) seem to actually made the game worse
as you cant rollback anymore to "fix" choices and instead have to save every choice and load if its incorrect .

also there seemed to be some bugs in the choices
that make it impossible to 100% it
(mostly effects unlocking nude versions of the waifus in the menu)

The Art style is beautiful the selection of waifus is peak but I would like a little more Naruto women like Tsunade, Sakara, and Ino. Some one piece gals would be nice like Nami, Robin, and Boa. Overall the game over all is fun and really well made.

These videogames romantizes the pornography industry to levels that are beyond my understanding, showing it like a very wonderful act, where everyone is having fun, dancing, singing and having sane sex with beautiful ladies. It's like an utopic world where selling your body leads into a sucessful path of absolute happiness, without any serious consequences. Even if you don't like crude or realistic histories about how you get disorders when you enter in the pornographic industry, you'll probably feel frustrated of how it's portrayed in this game series.
The script is dreaful, and it feels more like a horrible fanfic from Wattpad or Fanfiction NET than a real history. The dialogues are so cliche that are hard to describe, the Director has not even the sightlest chemical between him and the girls, and the writter pretends you to swallow whole the idea that characters like Android 18 and Rosalina exist in the same universe without all the logical problematic it contains. All the characters are cartoons of themselves, it's like they're out of their real minds and personality, and instead we have this mindless and empty shell to be a sex toy.
Speaking out of the "waifus", which supposedly are the stars of the show, the assistants in game are even more brillant and charismatic than the characters we are supposed to fuck. But don't get me wrong, that's not a praise, they're still having a cliche personality and they only bright because they appear for only a few minutes. For example, my personal favorite, Amber; She's the typic redhead tsundere cliche who spit insults and chaos, but in the deep, she appreciates you and likes you in secret, but meh, I've seen this concept made better not only in games, but in comics and hentai videos too. And if you ever think this characters could work in sex scenes, I'm sorry but I feel if we put these characters in the game, they'll fall like towers of cards, because they're only tolerable with the mentioned few minutes they appear in game. Their personalities are not designed to be in sexual scenes.
Now, speaking about the art section: While the art is usually subjective, I personally find the Bokuman's art annoying and frustrating. Why? Because he's stuck in his comfort zone, making girls with huge butts and boobs, I swear all the girls have the same proportions with sightlest differences between them. It's like he used the same model to make almost all the girls in game. The only diference I found was with Kobayashi, she have a different body and it was interesting to see Bokuman experimenting with smaller boobs and a smaller ass, to instead give us a girl with amazing thights. Yet it was the only one with this characteristic, leaving all the others with the same body proportions. If you are that kind of guy who only wants so see massive proportions in, literally, ALL the girls you find in game, then Bokuman is definitely for you. For me, well, I think I said enough already. And even if you enjoy his art, you'll probably be left with a bitter taste anyway.
And so, since I can only give one star, and I can't give zero, I feel in the obligation of say at least one good thing about this saga. Well, the mini-game of Love Points is pretty fun. You have to press the space bar or the mouse click in the right time to collect the highest score. Is a generic resource, yet feels fun because it works perfectly. Also, it could bring you some nostalgia for the old internet games with the same thematic. The little animations in the menu are colorful and enjoyable to see. Starting the Season 4 and in Season 5, you can choose your own assistant, which is great to don't be stuck with Amber in all the seasons, this can bring you some fresh air in the different scenes they appear. And while before I complained because their personalities are cliches, I'm sure you'll find at least one of their dialogues funny.

In conclusion: I only recommend you to play any of these games if you have a fantasy of having sex with your favorite waifu and you also really live the Bokuman style; Also, turn off your brain while you play to forget all the hollows in the script, the dialogues and the lack of charisma in your favorite girl. However playing all the seasons it's a waste of time, really. And if you are someway exigent, or if you are simply looking for a good history accompanied with excellent artwork, then stay away from this game series. Only play them if you are really curious.

"Nothing Much to Write Home About"

I guess if you're still a school kid or pretty young in this coomer world or a "normie" (not using that word as an insult btw) this game can be a bit fun with a lot of popular waifu to choose from but if you're looking for an actual good coomer game, it's very bland.
It's basically a really quick and simple VN with simple choices though if you pick the wrong one you got game over right away, the choices pop out way too much and most of the time, the thing that you pick like pulling hair or choke or even kissing and groping tits is just a text clue rather than a CG of you doing that.
Ironically enough, this game does give me the same feeling I got with watching "professional porn" like sure the girl can be hot and all but the action is just whatever, sure the girl gets plowed and moaning but you need more than that to make it an exciting jerk off material, I feel no passion watching those porns, they only do it because it's their job.

the sex scenes are just not fun:
1. you need unreasonable amount of clicks to progress
2. keep on interrupting you with an annoying minigames
3. constantly interrupted with 2 choices. 1 choice makes the girl leave, 1 choice continues the scene. so for example when you are fucking a girl the choices are "pull her hair" (she leaves) and "fuck her harder" (she stays).

Is this the main questline of Lost Ark? Holy snap you have to spam your spacebar and click to go through ~20 angles before/after coming. There are wayyyy too many unnecessary angles.

The visuals are great, but the spam is too real. Also if you chose 1 of the 2 options that is wrong, you have to keep scrolling backward to re-choose the correct one.

You're better off extracting that archive.rpa file and view the cg yourself.

Only issue is not enough kink for kinky audience, but other than that, this game is a blast to play. Can't wait for next update.

The game doesn't work, it won't save in S1 and the love value doesn't change, the only reason I still gave 2 stars is for the effort that went into the art and UI. Such a shame since the concept is fairly interesting and it has 4 seasons.

The game itself... is also whatever, is a porn casting, as uncomfortable as those, also the charaters are not even close to act as how they really are, so, this can be anime/cartoon characters but is more like literally any porn-star girl that is just wearing a cosplay of them.

The dialogue is not good, the art is Ok in everything a side from anatomy and decisions are redundant most of the time. This is more: Watch a porn-star dressed like your waifu being bang by a random blank guy for a casting.
