VN - Ren'Py - Completed - We Are Lost [v1.0] [MaDDoG]

Like dopefisherking said in his reviews, While the idea and story are good, the storytelling is terrible.

I've played the young MC. The characters' behaviour is not human-like. For example,
The mother is not concerned about her daughters at all, even though they think the plane crashed?! They think of locating the aircraft and getting the valuable stuff, but not looking for their family?! Also, in this dire situation, they play games with alcohol?!

The story does not follow a normal thought process and feels rushed, even though the game is long.

However, the Models are hot, and the animations are moderately good.

The mother-son couple got the short end of the vacation stick.

Right off the bat, let's knock this out, this is a heavy story-driven VN with very few choices that actually change things. You get to pick either the son or the father, you get to name them, and you get to change all the relationships (for the usual Patreon cop dodging reasons), and then are thrust into the reading assignment.

This is not a game, this is a book, so that VN tag is very accurate. Keep that in mind.

The story itself is also split, with the son ending up on an uninhabited island with his mother, leading to them eventually banging. Hazaa! The father winds up with his two daughters in a very posh looking hotel, leading to them eventually banging. Hazaa! Yes, that is a pretty crude way of breaking it down, but unless you are a fan of Lost (that old TV show) or another show called Watch the Wilds, then you'll probably be skipping most of it.

And hey, the models are hot, the women are peak sexy 3D CG, very refined, and the guys don't look like slouches either. This is a very well-to-do family, very white bread, very rich, and when you have all those things combine you end up with some very pretty characters. And apparently, left alone, they'll end up fucking each other. Go figure.

Anyways, because of the sex scenes, the few per path you get, I still give this a thumbs up for being pretty hot.

I really like half this VN.
The notFather/notDaughters story is fascinating and really well done.
The notMother/notSon side was kind of bland.

A creepy hotel puzzle was rather interesting to read and the images made the place feel fleshed out rather well.

I enjoyed 90% of the dialogue (meaning only a little too much fluff here and there) and the characters quite a bit.
I do feel like there should have been some kind of aphrodisiac drugging going on to make more sense of their actions but otherwise loved it.

I recommend finish completing the better story (dadd daughter route) then coming back to work on the amusing but much less interesting mom/son side.

I typically hate slow burns, b/c they often contain way too much story and not enough content, but WaL is great.

The two stories are well paralleled, and the renders are really really nice. The eyes are not an issue at all - in fact, they are very erotic and I dig it a lot. I couldn't care less about choices either ; we are all here for the same thing.

I wanted to like this game but I couldn't because of a 2 major problem.
1. Everything looks plasticy.. the hair, the house, the grass... you get what I mean?
2. Some renders really stood out but most of them ruined by the "weird eye issue" that kills many titles.

The average f95er would probably like it though.

So far, We Are Lost (0.2.13 version) got me on the line, divided between the good and the bad. The story is the perfect example: on one hand it has some interesting ideas and it is decently written, on the other it comes to points that feel completely rushed and unbelievable. Then the choices: there are none. I mean, there are, but you basically choose between having incestual sex (you can define the relatoinships but they are very clearly a family) or not, and if you are playing an erotic game it's clear what path you'll probably choose. Which means that, so far, choices are rather pointless. And, so far, even though it's been worked on for quite some time, it's still has quite little amount of content.

Character models and renders are pretty good, but the game would need some more images and the animations are a bit basic. I played with the sound off so I can't talk about it. And at least in my playthrough I didn't find any bugs.

So, all in all, as I said I'm divided. I'll continue following it for now, but I can see it going both ways: either improving to become a good game or falling down to a mediocre one. Time will tell.

Edit: and, in the end, the line fell on the not-worth side. Content is not good enough, story has ended up losing the little interest it had and sexual content, especially with the daughters is meh. Dropped.

this game is really intersting and in my opinion has a lot of potaneil, the story is quite immersive and the mystry element is great, it was a bold desicion to split the family up and not letting the player decide who will be with who, but i think it pays off and not only it prevents contradictions from happening but also adds to the immersion (as the players can relate to the charcters more).
the models are quite nice and the personallities quite suit the charcters as of 0.211 it dosent have many scenes but the story make up for it in my opinion.

Good Points
+ Women/Girls looks hot.
+ Sex scenes has animations.

Bad Points
- The story is bit weird, as far we know from things happening we are getting experimented on by some unknown people, some kind of cult. Son & Mother are on a small island, meanwhile, Dad & Daughters are in a hotel, and it seems there are some clients watching them via a site and waiting for them to do things together. While these are happening, those people watching them getting intimate and even wanting them to join them, etc, detectives are working to find our characters.
- Where are the save page numbers? We only have current page number and it's not enough. And having prev or next button far from the current page number is not good either.
- Pictures and build-up of sex scenes are better than animations, and that's a big con, sex scene animations need lots of improvements. First of all animation physics needs improvements. Secondly, more positions/angles for sex scenes are needed, some sex scenes have second position/angle, but not all.
- There are some visual bugs here and there like in animations hairs moving weirdly, etc.
- The game is quite slow-burn, and gets very little content with every update, in fact, we have only one vaginal and anal sex with the mother and no real sex scene with other girls, considering this is a nearly 3 years old game, that's bit too much...

For The End
Aside from women/girls looking hot, there is nothing special about this game, I wish at least the animations were good, so I could give 3-star rating, so until the animations become better I will be giving 2 stars.

If you are worried/uninterested/deterred by the “multiple protagonist” tag, I can safely reassure you it's not. It's “male protag” with the difference what you want to play as. As the Father OR the Son. BUT -> and that's the big difference here (and hence I like it) -> None of the others (Dad or Son) will pursue the other girls if you picked one of them. So even if you think while the son is having fun with his mother on the island, the dad WON'T pursue his daughters. And if you picked the Dad your son WON'T pursue his mom.

That's being mentioned in the Developer Notes but also in the very beginning of the game. So its a safe game which gives you the player the option to pick your preference what you want to play as:
-> Dad corrupting his daughters first and then his wife or
-> Son corrupting his mother first and then his sisters

However as for v0.2.11 the path you picked is still locked onto these specific LI as it's not that far into the story. I played both sides to see if it was true what the developer said (it's true), but also to see how far each other's path is and how they differ from each other.

Won't spoil too much into it, from the preview pics it's obvious what you will encounter on each one's path but despite I prefer the “Son” path, it didn't feel awesome. Don't get me wrong, this corruption is there, the lewd scenes with the reading are there, we even have the beginning for some lewd scenes too. But it reads like the “Son” path is an afterthought then everything else. But I still enjoyed it and if you like to play as a Son who corrupts his mom to bang him (and soon his sisters too) it's serviceable and I would recommend this game/path.

With that said, I was surprised I enjoyed the “Dad” path more as the teasing from the daughters, the inner conflicts of the MC(Dad), the slight corruption of them but also how they try to corrupt the MC(Dad) despite knowing the son + mom is away feel…good? I can't really describe it as it's described in the game. Something bad happens, but you and the daughters can't help each other as they see this as an opportunity to get closer with the MC(Dad). On this Path there are sadly no Sex scenes, but good amount of romance and teasing.

So it will depend what type of MC you want to play, how good or bad it is, and despite my having my doubts in the beginning, it delivered I must say. But honestly speaking just sticking with one MC would have been better no matter which one it was.

The story is interesting, and it seems this whole “project” of the shady cabal only works for ONE of the MC. Hence once you picked your MC, it didn't work with the other so the eyes are on you. Can't say much as the majority of the plot is still unexplored, but it delivers for what is currently there is of content.

Models are good, very good and so are some of the animations, though there aren't many of them.

I love this so much! It's one of my favorite adult games right now.

Pros:

_ The women, my GOD the women, each and every single one of them can be the final prize to conquer in any other game. Here, we interact with them immediately!

_ The writings, whew! The writings and dialogues are all top-tier! They are so kinky and well thought-out! The situation too is brilliant, dividing the family into 2 incest genre and 2 separate storylines keep things so interesting all the way through.

_ The plot is also great, the setting allows for many sexy situations to play out and they make sense. On top of that the mystery is intriguing too.

Cons:

_ Honestly I got none.

Conclusion:

_ Congratu-fucking-lation you guys for putting our such a banger product and thank you. Here's supposed to be the part where I say "Take as much time as you need so things can keep on being perfect!" and I'll say that too but also I can't wait! I hope yall don't take too long.

For the Son/Mom path it's "Lewd Island" meets "Naked and Afraid". Hell, they are even marooned on the same Island used in "Lewd Island" aaaand they are placed there as some kind of "experiment". Renders are pretty good. The dialogue is typical, "Oh mom, you are sooo hot! This hard on is all for you babe!" Zero originality in the story. The mom has an ass the size of a bus and titties to match and of course, the MC has a baseball bat between his legs that the mom cannot take her eyes off.

This is one of those games that gets undeserved low ratings and hate for various yet mostly childish reasons.
The dev is consistent with its regular small updates. The concept itself isnt original, yet which game around here has "original" concept?
What matters more are characters and relations building which is done fairly good. Milf character is particularly hot, and if you consider yourself a milf lover, you shouldnt pass on this small project. I have feeling once the things get over the boiling point, there will be some of the hottest milf sex scenes anywhere around.
Patience is a virtue, particularly for the projects that arent even 1yo.

Story is a bit meh, im my opinion at the moment.
Content is little. but its early version of the game.

There's an interesting idea here - a family gets kidnapped and wakes up locked in a hotel with no way out. But the writer doesn't know what to do with this idea so it just gets wasted. The obvious chain of events would be - wake up, figure out you're trapped, search for your family, try several different escape plans, learn that escape is being impossible, realise that you need to solve some kind of challenge, work together at the challenges, fuck your hot daughters, etc. Instead the MC tries the door in the lobby, finds it locked... and that's it. That's his entire attempt to leave the hotel where he and his family are imprisoned against their will. Trying the front door once. A door which is made of glass. I'm pretty sure a determined toddler could break that door. But our MC gives up immediately and with no further effort or explanation.

Speaking of transparent glass - what's outside the hotel? Forget the lobby doors - there are clearly windows in these rooms. What does the cast see outside? Are there people out there? Does it occur to them to try and get the attention of a passerby? I guess the existence of the outside world didn't occur to the characters. Certainly it didn't occur to the writer. Remember in Die Hard how John McClane set off the fire alarm, called the police on a radio, and then dropped a body on a patrol car; all in the name of getting the attention of anyone outside Nakatomi Plaza? You'd think maybe MC, realising that his whole family is in danger, might put more effort into escape than jiggling the handle on the front door, once. Writer, you need to meet the audience halfway on this whole suspension of disbelief thing.

Then there's cop subplot. Someone reports the family missing. Uh... who? Who knows they're missing? And what is going on at this police station? The detective gets called over the Tannoy system like she's a late train. One of her colleagues laughs at her for "being in trouble" like they're in primary school and she's been summoned to the principal's office. The police chief is sitting on a red leather throne in his study wearing a 1920's gangster outfit and a shoulder holster... because he has shootouts in his office maybe? I don't know. I guess it's supposed to reinforce that's he's a cop. Even though police chief is largely a political position that doesn't involve gunfights inside the station. He offers his very much on-duty detective a drink before telling her about the missing person's case that nobody should know about. Which has apparently already been investigated by other officers. The chief implies that he wants her to have a partner, which she rejects because she "works better alone", even though 30 seconds prior she was literally thinking "it's time like this I wish I had a partner". Is she a lone wolf or desperate for a partner? Make up your mind, story.

Anyway, Ashley is hot. That's about all this game has going for it. It would need a rewrite so that the characters act at least somewhat like real people would in their situation. Something to get the audience on their side. Or at least lampshade their bafflingly lazy behaviour by having the family be drugged and therefore not thinking clearly. And then maybe, you know, put in some goddamn fucking. This isn't a deep character study that can coast along on the quality of its story. The writing is objectively bad. So at least give us some spank in our spank game. Otherwise I would advise any newcomers not to waste their time. Hopefully some other dev can take Ashley's character model and this story idea and do it better.

[v0.2.6] An interesting concept. It's a visual novel where you get to choose between two very different paths - the older man or the younger boy. Each have very different experiences, so it is worth playing through both sides. Considering this variety, there is a good amount of content, but the downside is that the effort involved in building content for both paths would be a lot of work for the developer. As a result, the current content feels like only just the start of a much bigger story.

The path of the older male involves dealing with the two younger women, while the younger male spends time with the older female. I enjoyed the characters, renders, and situations, so there is great potential for the game. The younger male path feels like it has more seductive content much earlier in the story, but not enough content has been developed for the reward just yet.

I hope the developer continues this work, but they should be careful with the ambitious scope of the title.

Its been 8 months now and we are still stuck in the introduction, this is a new record of laziness, scumlordery and deceit. 8 months and not even 1 nude scene. This is that type of dev guys, be careful.

Anyways the game itself is interesting, two different pathways where you can be the father figure and be stuck with young ones. Or be the son and be stuck with the milf. Thats all i can say about this game as for now because after 8 months thats all there is to this game.

In the end if you are wanting to download this game, id say dont . Bookmark it and come back to it after maybe 2 years when we finally get a sex scene. As for now for whats available in the game it gets a 3/10 the models 8/10.

Story is good for me and I like the 2 side story type.
Like in any other games there will be people for it and against it.
I personally dont like to be a complainer, for me things are simple. If I dont like I game then I simply dont play it.
This game I like it and I'm playing it.

Good story telling so far. Banger animations and great renders. Models are perfect. Only issue is the size of the game for how little there is of it, so when it’s finished how big will the file size be?

12 Updates and nothing has even happened?
I get the slowburn but really?
Not a bad game and it feels like there is something there but without any choice what so ever after 12 updates you should have focused on one protagonist. This just becomes booring and if you want to show people what you can do so they will support on patreon maybe have something actually happen.
All renders now are mostly of walls, doors and a elevator.
To get better response here maybe make something happen in the story because now you are just clicking the mouse to get to some content whatsoever.
Will be checking back on this "game" without choices way down the line.
Good lock in the future and hope you continue the game because the setting seems interesting but way to slow.

From what I can tell this game has been out for about 6 months? It is short, and not a lot happens so far (playing as of v01.1.15b) honestly don't know if this is a good amount for 6 months or not but regardless it seems the most recent 1 star reviews are mad mostly because there are so many super small updates lol. Maybe no one would even comment if it had one or two updates and was still the same length, other than saying it was short? lol

Maybe that is some good advice to the dev, is just do some updates once more content is finished, but as for my own opinion on playing the game for the first time at this version I actually quite enjoyed what is done so far.
I like the "son's" story a bit more than the "father's" so far but the hotel setting has a lot more interesting possibilities for the future.
Yes I'm giving it only 3 stars for now because it is short, but the slow burn at this point is zero problem for me, kind of refreshing actually since it has been more realistic than a lot of others that go from 0-family fucking at the drop of the hat for no real reasons. If that is what you want then sure, this isn't the game for you, but I did give it 3 stars because what story there is so far and the option to play 2 different POV's I think is pretty well done.
So I would say this one has potential, just maybe give it a while to cook so it plays more than like just a v.01.
