VN - Ren'Py - Completed - We Are Lost [v1.0] [MaDDoG]

First of all, in my opinion the game is above average 4 out of 5 Stars. I would like to give it 5 to compensate the several unjustifyibly 2-star ratings. but I going to trust the proccess.

I personally look at the reviews before playing a game and I have been disappointed several times. Sadly, due to the tons of garbage games on this site that have a 5-star rating because they cater a popular kink. This time, I played expecting garbage and I had an engaging interesting time. So if you are hesitant to try it I recommend you give it a chance.

So as previously mentioned by others this is actually two different games. I firstly played the Father-daughters' rout because it appealed to me more, but afterwards I played the Mother-son one and I was also quite entertaining.

Story.
The game-play is simple, choices are there mostly for flavor and to see some additional scenes, but they have no mayor impact in the end result. I personally don’t mind this but I understand people who doesn’t like it, so be warned.
There is some porn logic with the situations but, we are playing a porn game so is not that bad. I would have liked to see some more logical actions in the Father-daughters’ combo. For example, even though they said that they are doing their best to escape, in reality they are quite content with their situation. They not even once try to broke the glass windows and door in the hotel lobby.
The characters are not two dimensional and each have their own presonality.

Grammar:
The spelling and grammar is above average and the conversations flow mostly in a coherent way. In my opinion there is too much inner monologue during some of the sex scenes, but it is just my preference.

Graphics:
The Li’s are gorgeous a little similar to one another but different enough physically and in their behavior to make it interesting.
Sadly, most animations are not that good. The problem is not with their graphic and mechanics but with their pace. They are moving way to fast. If you manage to abstract by reading the text they are tolerable, but otherwise two different stills repeated over the dialogue would have been better.

I am going to play the sequel, but once again I was greatly surprised, so give it a chance. Congratulations to the development team!

I only rated this game 2/5, I wanna rate it higher but 2/5 is already a high-ball for me. The game managed to get my curiosity just because of the premise of Island /survivor niche setting.

Renders of the background is not good, the game didn't get the island vibe for me, I grew up in Island nation with very sunny weather and this game for me didn't get what it takes to have a good island setting so that's why I couldn't immerse myself in the island setting because it feels lackluster and fake.

Characters is barely good, I think the only nice thing is Scarlett and that's it, Scarlett really get that Instagram model with latina body, the dev surely crafted her well, other than that, other characters is just enough for the story.

Story wise this game got potential but it got real bad renders, MC's dialogue that only think of sex, and lackluster environment. It will fall to a game that got potential but badly executed.

Going to keep this review short because i dont actually have much to say. Not to mention i tend to only review finish games and even though this says complete it feels more like a first act then first game.

Art alone is a 5 star for me, girls are all hot, i like big titties and ass, nuff said.

Gameplay, visual novel were the choices get you different scenes, it feels like they are leaning into a morality based choices but since part II doesnt factor in any of those choices feels a bit like an illusion of choice.

Story, its alright. It didnt blow me a way or keep me on the edge of my seat but its passable.

Now heres the big point and i guess its both gameplay and story. there are 2 stories, one from the father and daughters perspective and another from the son and mother. I almost wish the dev did one then the other because they are not connect (so far). It feels like you are playing 2 different games that take place at the same time. if there was overlap with the narratives it wouldnt bother me but the way its done almost feels like the dev should have completed one side of the story while hinted there was a separate side then do the other side of the story.
(also doesnt help development time but i did base my review on dev time and update pacing)

TLDR:
The Female character feels like a robot, the other character feels like they are important, but actually are not.
The MC are unlikable character, he just constantly yapping about sex and uninteresting monologues.
The world feels so artificially fake, ie. what you see, and what the character says are two different things.
The pacing is bad, they didn't know when to transition between the scenes.
No change of expression of the character in the dialog scene, they just had one dead look as an expression, like you see in the title here.

So, overall every character is unlikable and it's render feels like a robot, and the MC is yapping about sex, and nonsense.

I played on mobile, this game was way worse than expected, i found bugs, you spend like 5 minutes setting up characters and what they are to you, the menu to change that later on is impossible to use.
It lacked animations and scenes, some characters were very meh.
The mom is the only one that redeems this game a little, but apart from her the rest was just uninteresting.

I expected way more on 10Gb game.... story , locations, outfits etc... Thi is just poor... Too bad, there is potential, mother has one of the most beutifull faces in all games, but all 3 of them are the same, too big buts, too big tits, just no caracter...

We are Lost is a visual novel made by MadDog that is, in reality, two different games. At the start, you choose to follow either the father’s or the son’s story, two paths that never intersect. Each may vaguely mention the other, but neither has a meaningful impact on the other’s narrative. As the father you see yourself in a place with your two daughters and have to find your way through this strange hotel and the mystery behind it. As the son you are on an island with your mother and have to live a more native experience. In both scenarios you have pretty much just one choice to make, the romance path or the corruption path, the second having significantly more content than the first, and therefore the one I would recommend, since besides more action scenes, the story remains the same. Unfortunately the pacing of the game is painfully slow. A great number of panels and dialogs are just useless or redundant, at the same time lacking very important context or reactions that one would expect characters would do in such situations. Personally I explored mostly the father novel and just skimmed over the son novel since the son-mother route does not attract me, and the mother model is not as well designed as the daughters, who are very well built and made with deep care to look unique and appealing. The bigger issue is that We are Lost is just a tease of the overall story. The game is almost entirely a build up to the sequel, having a lackluster quantity of scenes, and some jarring jumps in relationship steps. When you get to the scenes, you are received with clunky animations and object clippings that ruin the immersion. If that lack of focus wasn’t enough, inserted in the story is the side-story of the female detective who is investigating your family’ situation. A giant pivot from what the game offers and impossible to generate any interest in the player. Despite enjoying the game, mainly because of the visuals, We are Lost is not above mediocrity, requiring a serious story revision and animation polishing to become something grand. Hopefully the sequel will offer a better experience.

This "complete" game is a prologue at best. On top of that, it's a huge file for having so little content. Furthermore, it takes basically no time at all to complete any single route. Even if it is short, I don't personally want to play and replay a game over and over to see everything. Besides, a lot of the content I'm not even interested in, in the first place. This game would have benefitted tremendously by narrowing the scope and focusing on one MC. The dev effectively made two different but related games and it really doesn't work out. Had this dev focused on one story at a time, I am sure the story would have been far better. Doing multiple stories in parallel is far harder and usually doesn't work out. Especially when they contradict.

My opinion on the dual MC part aside, the game itself isn't bad. Nothing is great but nothing is awful either. The models are standardly attractive, the story is acceptable but not compelling, etc etc etc. I gave this game 3 stars instead of 2 because despite my feelings about the design issues the game has, the content itself is worth 3.

Did not like it and would not recommend it. Maybe it is just me but I'm really not feeling it.

Started the game and right away disliked the way it started. First with multiple disclaimers and shoutouts to other people, none of which were relevant.
Then I am being shown two guys and have to pick one without knowing anything about the game.
Then I am being asked to define relationships of several people to each other without knowing anything about the game. And there are no defaults. And from the looks of it once they leave home they are separated so most of them don't matter.

I dislike the framing, every body and every item on the screen is cut to pieces. Lighting is also not good, especially in darker scenes. One time I realised that I was not actually looking at a black screen because there was a wedge of dark grey in one corner. And it was going for a few minutes too.

I dislike the pacing and the writing (including but not limited to grammar) so far on the MILF route. Nothing is happening, there are barely any choices (counted 2 so far).
I switched to the other route and there appears to be more going on. It looks a bit better but I only had 2 choices so far.

The characters have dead stares and faces utterly devoid of expression. If it were one still they'd be pretty but image after image the same stare is disconcerting.

Routes & Genre Representation – 4.5/5

One of the strongest aspects of the game is its route design. Both available routes offer something compelling, but the father/daughter route, in particular, stands out. It's a genre that's often underserved or poorly executed, yet here it's handled with surprising care and consistency. The pacing, the build-up, and the payoff all come together in a way that feels emotionally grounded (within the boundaries of the genre, of course) while still delivering top-tier adult content.

Story is bad and doesn't make any sense if this is a harem game it should have one man as MC.

Best looking woman is MILF that's why I am giving 2 stars instead of one.

When it comes to the story there isn't any progress at all why where they abducted and put on that island who did that i don't know that was never explained.

I only played son route because I like MILF more I have not played other route because I don't like it.

Updates for this game take long time and when update comes its really short maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

This could have been a good harem game but its not.

It's not really a game...Just reading along w the story. I think there were three choices? And I'm pretty sure they didn't matter....Loads of story though.

Setup could be changed just a bit.... In the intro it asks names/relations. That's great, but since you don't know any of these people you don't really know what their relations are....Just guess the most logical incest ones. Not quite sure I buy the mom's age since she has 3 older kids.

Slow development and build up to sex between the mom/son which is a nice change. The only small issue is once they do something, the go at it almost like rabbits after that....every day....

The son is pretty much worthless at home, but suddenly knows how to build shelters from nothing, start fires from scratch, and is a great survivalist...

Very nice graphics and pretty ladies other than the zombie like expressions they all have which adds to the boredom after awhile.

Wonderful choices of colors and, again, all the artwork is nice. The mom has a stunning body! lol

So, if you expect a game then you'll be really bored and let down. If you just want to read a story then it's good.

The models are good but actionand story is so slow repeating the same words again & again. The father took the risk and than cant face it ... what kind of story is that. If he chose to watch his daughters nude than why look for excuse?

There are a lot of incest/Harem Games out there and most of them share the same stupid Story as a Cover for the action why you want to play those kind of Games, Short Summary: Family is on a Ressort/Island, Dad with Daughters, Son with Mom. They should bang each other for a livestream/cult. Thats it. The whole "mystery" around it havent worked for me in a second.

In this Case the Renders/Animations are really nothing special and feel very outdated especially because all of the characters have the same facial expression in 95% of the Time.

Would this be a Game of a new developer i would understand it but this seems to be around since 2 years.

Just a disclaimer:
Before I started playing I've checked the thread and was aware of the 2 protagonist setup even though I knew it's not something I will be interested in, I gave the game a go.
I've only played/read the son's route and skipped through the father's route just to have some idea what's the content on the father's side.


The renders are average, some are good while some are kinda grainy/noisy so it's a hit or miss throughout the game, also worth noting that facial expressions are non-existent, most of the characters have one default facial expression in 95% of their renders, which I noticed after 5 minutes of playtime and did not get better as game went on.
The animations are below average and the scenes are mostly short, so they are not really 'rewarding'. Just drop the animations, it's so much to have bad animations than no animations at all.


The story is average at best, the whole cult plot makes very little sense and seems to be 'trigger' for the characters to build a sexual relationship, which by the way happens way too fast so the 'taboo feel' is kinda non existent besides 5 lines of dialogue of 'oh, we shouldn't do this, it's not right' and then 5 lines later 'oh well, we are isolated and who knows what will happen, let's do it'.
Sure the characters have some hidden interest in each other from the past, which existed for some time, but for me the premise in wincest games is the 'corruption' part where the LIs take some convincing (not too much, mind you) before they succumb to the MC, which doesn't really exist here.


The LIs:
Ashley:
- she is far too slutty for me, especially for a harem game, 'bimbo blonde' trope, haven't read many of her lines but she came off that way for me
Velvet:
- she isn't as slutty as Ashley, but not innocent either, I liked her looks the best but sadly she's only available on father's side as of now
Scarlett:
- she is a hot curvy MILF on some renders and an average on some others

None of them have a unique personality, at least I didn't get the impression that they do, I do not count 'acting slutty' a personality trait so Ashley doesn't have one either.
The LIs are forced on the MC, you cannot reject anyone, I wanted to not romance Ashley but it's not possible.


Now onto my main issues with the game:
This game wants to be a harem game, but for me personally it is not, it is one by definition, but even though the MC (either of them) will get all the girls, the main appeal for harem games is that they can be completed in one playthrough and the player won't miss a single scene. This is my opinion and experience with harem games, so if a harem have branches that game will not feel like a harem game even if by definition it is. (same with partial harems, sure it is a harem, but not really)

Here the player have to play 4 times to see all content the game have to offer, which for me is a big issue. I don't replay games (hence why I just skipped through the father's route) so I've probably missed scenes on the both routes.

If you (the dev) are trying to appeal to the harem crowd you made the worst decision with a 2 MC setup and on top the 2 MC you have 2 additional routes for both MC, not sure how many people played all routes, also I don't think many harem players want to play both MC since they do not like to see the LIs with anyone other than the MC (this might not be a harem player specific thing tho..).

Another issue with the 4 route setup is that content on each route is quite small, this is a 2+ year old game and I've completed the son's love route in around ~1.5 hours. So dividing the game for 2 MCs makes the game really short for someone who is not interested in one of the MCs.

I don't like seeing the LIs with anyone other than the MC, that's why I've skipped through the father's side just to have an idea about it, but even if I come back I will not play it further.

The plot is creepy and like cliches.
The progress indicates that the author is milking his patrons.
Sometimes we wait for a month or longger but only a few images and 1-2 animations , without actual sex.
However , the body of the milf is so excellent just like my dream one.

remember the "Horse Drawing meme", in the meme the horse drawing keeps getting worse ans worse buy every slide, this game is that meme.

this game started with great graphics, great story, and smooth gameplay, and maybe couple of update was decent, but after maybe 5 or 6 gb+ updates its getting worse and worse, 6gb/ 7gb/ 8gb/ and now 9gb+ update and content? fuck all, 5-10 minutes of gameplay per update and its so shit, story is gone, now its all yap yap yap yap, no interesting plot, man i wonder why they do this to so many wonderful games, smh

This game is giving me a real hard time.

• On the one hand, the models are drop dead gorgeous and so incredibly my type that it's mind blowing
• On the other, the sex scenes are so short and boring and the camera angles so bad that I can barely maintain an erection

Fuck, I think I'm harder during the inbetween sex scenes.

The game could be a masterpiece. Same models, same concept. But better writing and muuuuuuuuuuuuuch better camera work and muuuuuuuuuuch better sex scenes.

As is, for me, this game is something I come, I screenshot for inspiration. And then ignore for months on end.

I don't wait with bated breath for the next update. I'm not super happy when I play it.

The models are just omega ultra hot and that's that.

My secret wish is that a much better devs steals the models and the incest theme and makes a different game.

Cons:
1) Don't ask me to define the characters if I don't know who the characters are (I mean, give me a default so I have a clue)
2) Okay, so you had me define all of the characters ( I picked her as my aunt) in the very first question on the Island you say, "Don't ask your mom such questions". So why are you asking me to define the characters if it means nothing and you've already defined them? It follows up the question: "Your mom begin to fiddle and look around" Again, not the character I selected and please fix your grammar!
3) So instead of telling the Protagonist what question you are going to ask, you say, "Ask the RISKY question" am I supposed to know what that is? I'm supposedly this character, don't I know what the question is? Its just poor workmanship. I wouldn't ask anyone a question without knowing what it is, much less my Mom/Aunt.
4) If someone decides to be naked on a public beach, they have no expectation of privacy, that's just the way it is. If someone takes a look, that doesn't make them a pervert or a stalker or anything else, it makes them human.
5) There is a grading system for corruption but none for "love" which you say you will increase if you answer the "pink" questions

Pros:
1) Decent renders and textures 10/10

2) Decent Scenery

3) Scenes and environment actually change with the conversation and the narration. Most VM keep everything the same and just tell a story.

honestly, this game feels like it is made with this site as it's entire research.
run-of-the-mill on many levels from the serious money focus being the top priority for the dev/s (see the FOUR yes FOUR buttons to money before the start button *shakes head*) all the way through the seen-it-all-before plot and design to the very predictable progress of sex scenes that are very much reminiscent of early internet porn-site sales formulas.

even if this game was not already being created to the whims of some exec who earns from but never funds this game, it would still be nothing but pretty pictures to me as the rest, anything N related, is just dull.
it does have hope as a slideshow to spank to....when it eventually gets to the end of the formula
