Ren'Py - Welcum to the City [v0.30.1] [Quiquersson]

The art is amazing, but the progress falls flat.
I would call this a blue balls game. Is not bad but is not what advertises. Tries to cover too much and ends up leaving unpolished what it already has. This cam change in the future but is been like this for months/years.

Pros:

• Art style is more interesting than koikatsu at least
• Promise with the stat leveling system

Cons

• There's, like, three sex scenes in the entire game
• The example sex animation is janky
• Stats and skills don't matter
• Characters have zero memory and relationship stats don't matter
• I can... KIND of understand why you wanted customized character names? It just makes it inconsistent and basically impossible to talk about or understand the patch notes besides who "WSIS" and "WMOM" are.
• Way too many characters that have nothing besides their introductory event
• Minor point: if you go around looking at the club areas before visiting the Student Council first, you will have the exact same conversation with her twice.
• Just because I said the art style was more interesting than koikatsu, that doesn't mean every character doesn't look basically the same
• English dialogue is janky (which, i mean, i know the developer doesn't have English as his first language, and tbf even most US developers of porn games have bad grammar)
  
  Look, when I load up a game that's listed as 0.30.1, I expect, like, an ounce of content? This game has nothing. It's an empty shell giving nothing but promises, and judging by how it's taken two years to get to this point, I can't really be hopeful about it.

if i had to buy this game i would be super mad. There is ton of text, and so little "hot scenes" compare to amout of words this game have. Art style is super good and looks great, but the art is literally everything, that this game have.
If you like to get blue balled - this game for you.
If you look for actual game with actual gameplay, some intresting mechanics, etc and the main purpose of games this genre exist (lot of hot scenes) - this game is definetly not for you...

I'm not one to complain, especially on pirate sites but this is one hell of a let down, nice artstyle, but holy shit, the content is fuckall, ironically it's one of the games that gets updated constantly.

They had a big enough roster already,most of them don't even have a scene yet, but they just make a new one, give her most probably one softcore scene, bug fix, make a new character, give her one scene, bug fix 3x, rinse repeat.

don't waste your time or money if you're gonna support it on Patreon, wait until it gets completed or abandoned which ever comes first.

game its empy, for a porn game its feels like a masive blue balling all the time. the mini games are more that a drag rather that a actual interesting/funny interaction. the history its good the characters are unique and interesting but the dev just focus on inserting hollow minigames that broke the game them the next month the update its all about fixing the things that the minigame broke hellish circle.

Two, dos, deux, два years and all we have got its one buggy sex minigame.

Honestly I adore this game, even though last I played there wasn't much to it adult content wise. The writing is funny enough it could probably be converted into a normal visual novel and be a solid 10/10. If I had a complaint it would be the lack of exploration, unfortunately development is slow because there is only one developer.

2 years after release, feels like it still in it's first version.

1 sex scene, multiple characters with no content. Characters are silly and with no intention of this being taken seriously. Basically, avoid this until 2035 when maybe it will be done and maybe we will get another sex scene.
But by then we will all might be dead in the apocalypse.

Anyway, not worthy of your time.

Let me tell you something, this game? Holyyyyyy is it a grind fest, not the usual grind fest that most sandbox games have, but an actual, genuinely madness inducing grind fest, that would make even the most hardened of no lifers go outside and touch grass out of share monotony and tediousness.

And you know what the worst parts is? The scenes aren't even worth it lmao, now don't get me wrong, the animations are fine, hell, they are even good, but the actual reward for doing something 20 or so times is literally just a butt grab or a handy lol.
not too mention the lack of actual content the game has, like you have 15 or something characters with 2 or 3 intimate scenes between them combined. Yes, you red that right, not 20 scenes nor 30 scenes but 3 dang scenes over the course of 1.5 years of development!!


I wouldn't recommend this game for even my worse enemy. And if you value your time, wrist health and sanity، i wouldn't recommend it to you either.

I'm out, good luck to the Dev I guess. I'll give it 2 stars because I feel bad and because of the sheer potential that this game had. It could have easily been one of the greats on this site.

This game is basically a complete waste of time for someone who finds this forum their usual haunt. The game and the developer seems more interested in adding characters with a gigantic grind wall for almost no content, than adding actual porn. While (what little of) the animations can be quite good, repeating the same actions for fractions of a point of stat gain every day is an exercise in insanity. The ratio of grind to content is so massive, it was hard for me to tell when I was working towards a new scene, or if content had just run out. At this games current development pace, we'll have 30 new characters in 5 years, and maybe 3 sex scenes between them. The characters themselves seem pretty shallow, but I wouldn't know since there's so little content I can barely tell.

This game is practically worthless for the common fapper like you or me. Play only if you're interested in indie games.

Well, it's been long enough that I feel that this review will be fair.

Simply put, this game has been in development for almost 2 years now and has as much content as most games have when they release.

It has an amazing... 1 sex scene. The rest is just grinding for the sake of grinding.

Right now this game seems like grind simulator without much content in term of sex scenes or story.
Perhaps in future, when author add at least some sex scenes, this game will look better, but right now this is highly questionable game.

It's a fun game, and the start is especially engaging. However, since it's still a basic version (I tried v0.23.1), the excitement tends to wear off pretty quickly. For now, I'll just have to wait and see how it evolves.

Love the art and little to no flicker animation (2 image back and forth) little grindy but i can see how repeatable and singleton events added later can help minigate this mini games are fine but hopefully there can be a late game perk to skip them when they become a chore (like every minigame in video game) the framewrok looks good would love to see icons for girls in areas in the loctation selector good luck to the dev

I played this game first in 2022. Back then, there wasn't much content, so I decided to wait to play it again. I played it after this release, only to find there it has basically NO new content from what I remember.

It's grindy, the english isn't very good, and the sandbox elements do nothing to mask the massive lack of content. I think it's safe to call it on this one. It was a promising project when it first came out, but after this long with basically nothing new, I'd say it's not worth holding your breath over. It's all flash and no substance.

The game has a unique concept that I really love, and the idea behind it is intriguing. The scene with the cousin in the medical bed was definitely a highlight for me, but it took a lot of effort to unlock the full scene, which could be improved with faster ways to increase strength. Some of the other scenes, like the one with the black girl by the pool, felt poorly made and out of place. I really hope the quality doesn’t stay inconsistent throughout the game. The scene with the sister in her bed also didn’t match the art style very well, which was disappointing. Overall, there’s potential, but a bit more attention to detail would really help improve the experience.

ive been followig this game since the first chapter came out on itch io. the plot is pretty east to follow and of now, theres not alot there. the artstyle is pretty cute and very well drawn. the dialogue isnt choppy and is funny at times. i just hope that this game doesnt turn into another spooky milk life.

I always take into account length of time put into projects, and considering this one is getting close to being 1.5 years old there is a certain level of content I would expect to be available in a porn game. The art for non sex scenes I think is great, but like other games where the art looks good outside of the sex content, this one fails to deliver.

I spent hours grinding to get a single scene with the stepsister character only to find out it's basically what I would call an animated image (parts of the image move in groups to simulate animation) but imo this is the worst looking animation style and was a "fingering" scene where the finger literally didn't move (maybe an android issue?)

Now once I enable cheats and slapped max stats on it I reached the scene with a chick at the pool at night, and this season while looking marginally better in terms of it's animation; To point it blankly the same image style is used except the entire character images distort by getting wider and slimmer throughout the animation. Really feels like I'm back playing flash games on new grounds for how bad it looks.

Another issue I had is nothing changes in your interactions as you progress with the characters love, lust, intimacy stats. For instance the way the stepsister character reacts to you complimenting them sexually is always negative and pissed off regardless of those stats, which just breaks the immersion that much more.

All in all even with the cheat code skipping the grind the style and animation of this game for sex scenes doesn't make the rest of it worth it. The poop icing on the poop cake is that progressing in the game doesn't have any real effect on your interactions with what I would say should be the main characters in the game, and got so turned off I'd rather uninstall than try to find anything redeemable about it.

The art is great imo and even though the gameplay isn't amazing, the game itself has a lot of potential. The problem here is that it literally has no content, every time it's an empty update with stuff added nobody even cares about. As of now i can't recommend the game, which is just a blue ball giver, with no content. Until MUCH more content is added (mom, sis, neighbour scenes and quests) the game isn't even worth downloading.

This game starts off pretty strong but damn does it nosedive quickly. Great to know if you don't get sensuality before level 17 you basically fuck yourself because you don't have any way to get more experience, along with that how you even get experience isn't explained. I just got to 17 and stopped getting anymore. There's so little content I'd argue it basically doesn't exist. The effort to reward ratio is skewed in the wrong direction. Finally the closer I got to the end of the content the more the English started to fall short. I really do not recommend this game until it's closer to completion.

great game not fully a fan of all the grind having to repeat squences can be a a bit tedious but a for an early game concept shows promise cant wait for more content to come and also looking forward to different mini games
