Seeking Well written games suggestions

Recently a vast majority of the games I've tried have had a poorly written story, poorly written dialogue, poor grammar or most commonly all of the above.

I'd like recommendations for Ren'Py games with:

1. Little to no sandbox, unless it's well executed, which is rarely the case.
2. A coherent story that actually goes somewhere rather than just throwing nonsense together just to create situations for the sex.
3. A somewhat likeable/relatable MC. This is probably what I have the hardest time finding in games/VNs.

I don't know what you like in a MC, and I don't know a lot of R'P games, but I have some here. Though my main criterion is dialogue and corruption quality rather than plot.

Look for the The Something To Write About games. There is The Author and Unbroken so far. Both well written. Leap of Faith is one of the best written games period if you haven't tried it. You may also want to give Talothral's game a shot as well. The Sorcerer and Tribulations of A Mage are my favorites from him. There is also Love of Magic and Morningstar by Droid Productions, but those are more sandbox. They are excellent power fantasy games though with a very good story beat.

I didn't try the Something To Write About games because the first one doesn't list "animated" and I generally use that filter. I did enjoy The Sorcerer and it's the same so I'll check them out. Thanks. I've avoided Leap of Faith because the mod images show multiple branching choices. That always annoys me. Choices that affect your interactions with the characters are fine, but ones that force you to choose one and exclude another LI more than just selecting a primary path bother me.

lol hate to bust your bubble but most of the truly well written games require you to make choices that can exclude certain paths. Just use a mod and save at every major fork. If you want a well written harem game then I guess your best choice is My New Family. It's wholesome as all get all, but definitely has some good emotional moments.

I did really enjoy My New Family until it neared the end and seemed to try to wrap everything up neatly, but still a very good game. And I wasn't referring to major path forks. I understand that can be necessary to a good story. I meant the games that make you choose one scene over another repeatedly while the story itself barely changes. As much time goes into rendering and writing the excluded scenes cause these games to feel like they make very little progress each update, since the player only gets a portion of what was added.
