What are all those Daz3D assets for?

I think I might be missing out on something.

I'm aware of Daz Studio, but with the abundance of assets available on F95, I find it somewhat astounding that numerous individuals are utilizing that tool for game/animation development. It leads me to wonder if there's a more casual or creative aspect to its use beyond just content creation.

This raises the question: How are you guys using Daz3D Studio?

Well. other than making renders for my game. I also use it to make animated gifs, footage, and images to use in other applications like Adobe After Effects, as well as making wallpapers and just generally messing around and experimenting to see just what I CAN make (such as turning game characters into statues etc.) Also trying to use it for 3D printing, but that is a very complicated pipeline I have discovered lol

But isn't it a problem to use copyrighted content in a game? I'm not debating the morality, just the legal issues...

Well. All of my main characters for my game have of course been purchased through the Daz store, just for the sake of covering my own ass.

you are aware that the assets themselves aren't worth shit as content unless you use them in a tool like daz to set everything up and then render them?

Don't quite understand the question... I mean, I've seen DAZ used for making porn ads, and maybe even book covers, but that's the gist of it. Other than that, without using it for commercial use, games, or animations, what other use is there really? You assume someone might be out there playing with characters in DAZ Studio like a child playing with her barbies, making up head canons while posing them and pretending they're talking? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

They can be used as characters in things like Unreal Engine etc as well, and i guess you could also use it to create customized backgrounds. (but then having said that you could also use something like Blender for that also.)

Yes. :ROFLMAO:

However, if you intend to create content, it's essential not to utilize the content available here. Therefore, it should primarily be for personal purposes. So, in what ways and for what reasons might you employ Daz for personal use?

Yes you can use it to create your own porn as well, pick your favorite celebrity/character and put them in your fantasy situation.

I mean that's the original purpose of Illusion games studio as well, people downloaded characters and mods to pose them around in studio and make spicy scenes for themselves.

If anything using those tools to make games is the new fad, because these tools existed for quite a while before people decided to start using them for porn games as well.

why? many devs use pirated assets for their games. if you want to sell your game on steam, you might want to avoid that though. but patreon or itch? no problem

My theory is that Daz3d is used almost exclusively for porn. How do I know this? No customer logos on the front page. You see: in the tech world, a company which creates a tool will almost always publish a list of logos of high profile users/companies. If any major brand would have used Daz3d, Daz marketing would be all over themselves to put their logo on their front page.

Daz3d has none. It has no testimonials either.

In my opinion, Daz is built on porn, hobbyists and self-publish books covers artists. I don't think it's a major tool in any industry. That's not to say it's not good: for what it's supposed to do, it's amazing.
