Spawning from the AI debate this got me thinking on what is fundamentally missing from them and what does even make for a good scene or interaction?

It's about battles but the same rules should apply to things like character conversations, interactions and even sex scenes.

It's why I think the Illusion Games like Honey Select, Koikatsu and Artificial Academy don't work that well, they neither have a Challenge nor interesting Interactions.
It's also why ChatGPT style AI conversations ultimately feels boring and meaningless.
I think the Rule that has to be followed is simple. Change caused in the given moment or action either in the player/viewer's emotional investment in the scene or Change in the Character's own Internal Emotional State and their Emotional Reaction to that.
