Hello!
I'm a solo developer and I'm trying to make a short game call "Boss's secret".

I don't have a problem with code or a game story.
But the real problem is I don't have a friend that into this 2d porn thing and I don't know if my art is good enough to make my game work?

My goal is to make her be like EXTRA THICC and be an ice-cold boss with a sarcastic personality.

So what do you guys think about my boss's design?
And does my art good enough to do their job?
Please let me know.

for a comic it looks cool but a game with this kinda art style isnt much preferred, if you made it 3d though in blender or daz many would get it

Dude, don't listen to the nay-sayers and just give it a shot. Everyone starts somewhere, and your art is definitely good enough to start with. Try to keep it consistent through the project, so some art-pieces don't completely outshine others.

Edit: That said, colours go a loooong way.

You mean YOU don't prefer it. I like 2D games a lot more than 3D, and it doesn't have to be in colour to be enjoyable. For me, atleast. That this style doesn't work for you, doesn't mean other people wouldn't want to play it.

First three pictures could need more work (particularly 1 and 3). Fourth one is close to what I'd expect from a paid game. The visual FX are something I rarely see and would really help make it stand out, no matter the style you end up going with.

Though make sure you're giving her big boobs and not flesh shaped balloons, like too many artists do, where the "base" of the boobs is the size of their areola.
Also variety in characters bodyshapes is always a good sign (if you plan to have any).

That second picture looks really familiar, was it inspired by something in particular?

personally, it ain't much for me. but fck it man just take that first step, it's the hardest but gets easier later anyway .you know what I mean.
lemme give you a simple secret, if you cant charm em with art for now, then you gotta double your story quality. either with humor or whatever fit. since most of the time, many people play for the art but always stay for the story. that includes me

Hey, I've seen a game somewhere on Steam with a similar thick artstyle although I can't remember anything much about it, wondering if you made the art. Since this thread is from a while ago, I imagined you must have improved a lot!

Really digging your style. And for your information, many people out there actually like 2D artstyle! So, like the other commenter said, give it a shot!

The art-style can work just fine.

People seem to only think of the normalized daz type games in the adult genre, but look outside of it. Return of the Obra Dinn, Cool world, portion of Kingdom Hearts took place in the old time mickey mouse cartoons. Bettie Boop was a sex symbol.

As long as the game style and story make sense for the art, then looks fine to me as an aesthetic choice.
