Others What game maker should i take?

Ok i want to make a game, and i am new, i have think of rpg maker but i dont feel to buy it for now (maybe i should) what good game maker would you advises for a simple game with a basic fighting system of clicking to shoot or to strike in melee? (i dont want a turn by turn fighting system) and that allow me to change textures for personal one+show certain image on screen for various event or fail. will Wolf RPG will be good?

The simplest game engine for this would be in Unity but that requires you learning how to program.
