What happens to threads that don't get updated anymore?

I recently noticed that some game developers tend to make a thread for their game on F95 but then don't post updates here when they update the game. My question is, and this probably applies to other threads as well, what happens with these threads? Will a new one by another person be created? Do uploaders have access to adding new versions?

of course. that's what uploaders do. they just need to get their hands on the update.

Oh alright then. Sorry, it just wasn't very clear to me that uploaders can just edit existing threads. I thought only the person who made the post and admins can

Someone just needs to either report OP with a link to the update, or post it in the thread and report that post. (The first is most likely preferable for security reasons)
