It's a legal issue that ties into the survival of the website. Here are 3 very compelling reasons -
1- We're trying to stay on the right side of the businesses who provide the hosting and server space. They have laws to follow just like we do. So we are trying to do the best we can with providing the game we can but still "stay under the radar". Problem is, once it starts getting too extreme like young realistic sexual content, then those businesses will refuse to host us or provide servers.
2- The younger content brings in "undesirables" (pedophiles and others) from the deep web and elsewhere who often are being tracked by law enforcement.. that's bad for us in 2 ways.. those "undesirables" often bring some nastier content with them and the law is now going to scrutinize the site. Again, really bad.. The hosters/servers will drop us in a second if we bring in the law.
3- That content will NOT go unnoticed by hacktivists who won't hesitate to flood this site and use tools to make our lives very very miserable.

Remember, if we trigger a NEGATIVE response from the hosts and/or servers, we have no website. NO F95Zone in other words.

The main issue is that someone needs to pay before they post them here for everyone else.

When you get devs posting different versions that doesn't make people want to subscribe. The less people subscribing the less chance of them getting posted here.

Gone are the times of the completed games to pirate. Like you said, mostly are Japanese games and some completed Western one here and there. Most Devs are using subscription platforms.

Very few of the 22,000+ games found on this site are posted by creators. The vast majority are posted by F95 uploaders (either that they snagged themselves or other F95 users have shared after they have snagged them) and are the same versions that patreons, subscribestar subs, steam buyers, itch buyers, etc get.

I mean, look at the difference in content? Most japanese made games are completable in an hour or two and have reused CGs all over the place. TBH, as long as the artist can keep a decent speed, it'd only take about a month or two to make those games in their entirety. There are exceptions, of course, but I've played enough to know a lot of them are very cookie-cutter. (Also the origin of sex stat grinding... ew.)

I mean, they've kind of always been like that. They were either simple route-based VNs or RPGM games like Arms Devicer, Parallel Fantasy, or Sacred Eyes. There were stand-outs, but I think people tend to have rose-tinted glasses because there weren't that many back in the day. Or I could be entirely wrong.
