Hi, everyone.

As the title reads, please help me with the poll.
I would need to take into account how "realistic" I would want to go with it, HD textures, mesh and env chug disk space like no other.

Also game would have big open world, mainly for immersion of different locations, but depending on the poll it could be "cut".
Results might pivot my current plans drastically.

Also as a bonus round, would anyone be interested in a game with built in porn mechanics or rather porn game with built in game mechanics.

Feel free to leave comments and I´ll answer if required.

You should change the option for just release something to doesn't matter/not important.

I'm not going to encourage someone to release an open world porn game. Ever.

It depend, how many are you to works on the game, how many free time do you have to works on the game, how much experience do you have, and do you expect to release a complete game before 2050?

I mean, AAA studios have thousands people working full time on their games for an average of 4 years of development, and almost all of them stop at "realistic enough". So, a handful of indie devs doing this during their free time...

you can forget the double digit numbers, I don't think anyone is gonna bother loading your shitty beginner game at AAA game sizes.

I mean this sounds like a really bad frame of mind to start with. like you were asking "how incompently programmed game are you willing to tolerate? (we're aiming for as incompetent as we can get away with)."

Poll asks wrong question, its the compressed DL size that's most important, it should be small enough to be easily DL'd from host sites (generally 5 or 6gb or less).

After that you need to DL multiple files and recompile them yourselves, at that point your audience craters (worse and worse per additional file needed).

Some get away with larger sizes than that, but they generally started smaller, got an audience, and grew as the game evolved.

Well the plan was "game with built in porn mechanics" and not a pure porn/fap game.
Since I do agree that open world porn games are a drag.
They feel empty and just out of place.
At the moment it is quite "easy" to pivot and just have smaller hub areas but that does not mesh with the current "vision".

I do see why anyone would be doubtful and not even bother, especially if I have not even show what has been completed thus far.

At the moment the project total size on disk is 43GB without compression and optimization, so the number would come down drastically but it is also true that only small amount of higher res textures and almost no sound has been imported at this moment.

The problem with UE5 is that it takes quite some space by default.

All of those things are in flux atm.
While I agree, we also have the problem with not going realistic, artsy style is as demanding.
With "realistic" we can atleast get textures and models ourselves from the real world.
There was this realistic looking game called "Bodycam" I think. We wont aim for that.
I guess our next step should be a vertical slice, release that and go from there.
