I always find with a lot of sites I can never get really specific with tagging either by theres not enough variety of tags or the community ends up not tagging whatever I'm searching for as such. While we can never solve the second problem entirely as thats completely up to the community the first problem can be easily rectified. For example sites like Hitomi la allow me to get specific with traits around gender. Say I'm looking for blue skin girls. It becomes a lot easier to find them when you can specify the gender of the trait otherwise you might get men or monsters.

So here are some multi filtering features I would like to see that you can use all together at once:

1.Gender Specific Tagging
Already explain above a bit however I think we should also include, futa, trans, and intersex.
2.Tag Exclusion
For tags you aren't currently looking for but you don't hate them either.
3.Engine Filtering
We already have this in place but from what I can tell you can't use it tags at the same time
though it looks like we might see it in the near future whenever the prefix filtering engine
on the alpha 2.0 of F95zone is more complete.
4.Tag Blacklisting
We could really use this. Might cut down on the amount of "I HATE NTR REEEEEEEEE" posts I
keep hearing about. :ROFLMAO: Theres also the fact I could filter out stuff I don't like. *cough* daz *cough*
5.Tag Feed Favoriting
For the tags that one cannot get enough of whether it be butt secks or eating the poop poop.
6.Saved Multi Filtering Configurations
Tomboys, Tanlines, and Anal? Need I say more? Besides that, I'm certain there are specific groups of tags
that each of us search for so it would be a nifty feature for people who really like to combine a lot of tags.
As for tags I can think of a few.
  • Irrumatio
  • Intercrural Sex
  • Torture
  • Shibari
  • Whipping
  • Cock and Ball Torture(CBT)
  • Mutilation
  • Elf
  • Lamia
  • Dyrad
  • Fairy
  • Midget
  • Dwarf
  • Yangire
  • Yandere
  • Tsundere
  • Kuudere
  • Dandere
  • Innie Pussy
  • Gore
  • All colors of skin
  • Amputee
  • Petite
  • Tanlines
  • Tan
  • See through clothes
  • Etc.......
Theres a lot of potential tags to add. Feel free to add to the list and tell me about any filter features you would like to see on F95zone.

The main thing I want right now is that, after I set the forum filter to 'last message', that it doesn't then default/reset to 'first message' on a subsequent visit.

I had hoped that the new forum upgrade would have introduced a 'set and forget' option for this into our preferences, but that didn't happen.

I see you've put lots of thought into this, and I quoted the tags I would like to be able to use, but.... I believe it's beyiond the staff's capacity

The tags are set according to what the author of the game say, then adjusted according to what is said (and seen) by people who played the game.

Anyway, here you're on a sharing/talking site. So, it's not the kind of site you go to find a game, but the one you go to give a try to a game, download the last update, and talk about the game. That's why the tags are limited to the basis, and why globally people agree with this.
If someone absolutely want to play a game where a midget blue skinned elf girl crush his balls in see-through clothes, then he go to a database site, like vndb, to found the game. Then he come back here to see if it's already available or to ask for it in the request section.

Adding more tags will, perhaps, improve the experience for few people. It will clearly make it harder for the staff, the uploaders and the mods. And it will probably just increase the number of comments complaining because the girl is a Halfling, not a midget elf, because the clothes are transparent, not see-through, and because there's a scene where the nipples are pierced, but the tag is not set.

To the black list!
The only tag I would ever use is "Yandere heroine" :giggle:
You prefer her doing the stabbing instead of the other way around?

I agree. I honestly don't think we are big enough to make full use of a system like this but maybe one day we might be.

Gonna have to disagree about finding a game part. Sometimes I don't know what I'm looking for beyond a specific genre but I can never get real specific as I mentioned before. Adding tags and this new filtering system would definitely make things way harder for staff and uploaders. As for tagging semantics thats kind of a problem you are bound to run into the more tags you have.

I actually think we need a second set of tags. The current system tags a genre into the game solely on the mere existence of content. Even if that content is only 0.01% of what the game is about.

My MC has a back story where he walks in on his fiance cheating on him. If I add a render to the intro depicting this, I will have an NTR tag. However the game has no NTR outside of this which would make the tag misleading for those seeking or actively avoiding NTR.

I think the current tag system is great for informing others of the wide range of content included in a game. However it may be nice to one day include a second tag system that summarizes the overall theme or genres with ease of search in mind.

Of course I have no idea what this means in terms of work required to implement.

But why are you even doing this here ?

It's a piracy forum, not a database. From my point of view, tags are here to vaguely discriminate games.
I wouldn't have searched for a game with a crazy lunatic girl, an unsocial genius princess, a cold blooded milf (OMG yes, I want her to be my mommy), a crazy crazy guy, a lunatic crazy guy, a pragmatic taciturn guy, and also, among the many possible other tags (and for those who haven't figured it yet) a game about mafia.
Still, I never enjoyed so much an adult game ; taking in count that my first adult game was and that I played it when it was released.
It's not what's behind the tags that make the enjoyment, but it can prevent it. From my point of view, it's what the actual tags do ; they help you avoid games that you'll effectively dislike. No need to too specific tags for this.

But if you effectively need the game to have a midget blue skinned elf to give it a try, because regular sized blue skinned elf, blue skinned midget that aren't elf, or green skinned elf midget, that's "no" for you, well, what to say ? You aren't randomly browsing, you are in search of something really specific, and there's better sites for this. And when I say "better", I don't mean because they have more tags, but because they are made for this kind of research.

I believe f95zone is more than just a piracy forum. Actually some of my uploads are free content you can find online. It's a place where people who like adult content can converse, share games, and even just talk about them. Even some devs hang here.
I think people should have the option to filter out stuff they don't like as well. Randomly browsing is fine if thats your thing but its not for everyone. Some people like me like to get specific. They know what they want and just because f95zone isn't capable of it now it could be very different in 5 years time.

It's more than that, it would be hypocritical for me to say otherwise. But it still doesn't mean that it's a database, nor that it need tags that go this deep.

This said, I haven't realized it before, but this thread would have been more at its place in the section. And like it's @TCMS's domain, I'll tag him.

Honestly I was more interested in what people would say tbh regarding this. As for a feature request I think f95zone is still too new for this sort of stuff and it would require a lot of reworking. Rather them focus on getting f95zone v2.0 off the ground rather than try and work on v3.0.

Well you click games and can filter based on engine used or completed tag. If you want to filter for a specific genre, find a game a click on the tag you want thats tagged into the game. Now you can see all the games with this genre tag. I would like a streamlined straightforward way to search for a tag I like + completed tag for example. Or genre tag + renpy for example. This site is great but yes it has room to improve.

Actualy i would really apreciate a "pixel art" tag for some games.

Im kinda surprise this site dont have one yet, considering all the diferent content it exist in the matter of porn games.

I read on a past thread that the moderation of the site dont feel like this is a necesity, because you can search for "2D Games", but in all honesty there is only a fraction of pixel games on the 2D tag. To search on the 2D tag will only help you on the matter of filtering 3D games and text only games.

The only thing I can really think of is differentiation between games with animated h scenes and games that just happen to have other animations. It’s rare when I run into the problem, but frustrating when I do.
