i genuinely don't get it. i've tried gi, wuwa, blue archive, azure lane and every other main games there are in the market. they all felt like waifu/husbando bait, except some of them had decent animation & music. is it just a fan service people play these kinds of games for? other than that, i don't see the point

i've seen way too many ads of this one, and it screams scam!! i’d bet it’s nothing like how they show it in the ads

It's mainly the gambling. They do everything they can to coax you into spending money on it and then reinforce that with a bunch of habit-forming gameplay practices to keep you coming back to it.

It's twofold, gambling and the feeling of power. Then after you spent a ton, sunk cost fallacy.

Never played one, never felt an urge to play one, don't like the style of most of them.

I only played 3 gachas in my life: Digimon Links, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Gaydorado. After Gaydorado, I swore to not touch another gacha ever again. It's like trying to leave a fucking drug, One gets addicted to the gambling aspect, and the FOMO any event.

I usually play them for specific characters, back when Tales of the Rays/Tales of Link/Tales of Asteria/etc was around I played for Marta Lualdi coz I was already invested in her from the wii game. I originally started playing Project Sekai for Miku, but stuck around for Mizuki. I started playing FGO for Oda Nobunaga (shares a VA with Marta), but got very invested in Abigail too.

I can't give you the exact answer, just know they are designed to create an addictive feedback loop to prey on people with certain mindsets. Yes you can get enjoyment from these games, but they are designed to get your money first and foremost.

I don't blame anyone for buying into them, you are being preyed on and should wean yourself off of them, buy plushies, support more devs, buy a sex doll, pay an only fan girl to tell you your dicks nice, those are all better than supporting gacha.

I have played some but bounce hard off of them usually. The mechanics are very much "oh gee you don't have this character that excels at this level... guess you'll lose basically forever until you do!"

Though recently I am playing some ZZZ because I love the animation and it's not another fantasy game. I am so tired of fantasy and swords and wizards I could strangle a rubber chicken.

Im tentatively looking forward to the one that's like GTA also, we'll see how it goes. I haven't spent a dime in ZZZ so I'm sure I'm missing out, but I do love the storybook elements and gow inspiringly well animated and modeled it all is.

A good fantasy game is a breath of fresh air. There hasn't been a good one since...elden ring.
On that I agree. i liked Baulders Gate 3 but it was ridiculouslay hard for me for some reason. Elden Ring was fun for a bit but I'm not into punishment for the sake of git gud.

I am enjoying the new FF7 remakes though! They are quite nice. I wanted hard to love the new Atelier Yumia but it is not drawing me in like the past ones for some reason. Otherwise I'm feeling burned out on swords and sorcery because it's just everywhere.
