What's the best place to look for look-a-likes? Like I'm searching here https://f95zone.to/forums/asset-releases.95/ just in general for any female characters asset releases that are intended to resemble someone recognizable from reality (or fiction). Ideally they'd be for daz, since daz is what I'm learning to use right now. (Although if they're wildly more popular in VaM I'd try to learn to backport those.)

I don't seem to know what keywords to use "lookalike" obviously isn't it. "Look" shows many random assets from vam because all female asset packs in VAM are simply called "looks". I found several here https://f95zone.to/search/145605865...=1&c[nodes][0]=95&c[title_only]=1&o=relevance by searching for celebrity but... well that is just the work of one artist (this guy ), surely there must be competitors who make look-a-likes? Additionally I don't care if the look-a-likes are celebrities, I just want to know what keyword to use to search for something recognizable, pornstars/hollywood/ficiton/comics even (so the word celebrity itself isn't really ideal because I don't care if they're celebrities from hollywood just if people will recognize them at all.)

Is there a common term other than lookalike to refer to this sort of thing by? It is very very hard to search for this sort of thing because the official daz3d store entirely bans this sort of work. Usually the way I search for something I think would be cool to pirate is to just find it on the official store first. The official store is reasonably well organized, but this sort of thing is entirely banned by the official store. Surely more than one competitor exists out there? Other than ? Or are all the look-a-like authors working on VaM? If that's the case, that's okay too? Because VaM is just genesis 2, right? So I could always use

Sorry if this breaks any rules but I don't really know where else to ask.

To answer my own question I found this post:

https://f95zone.to/threads/celebrity-series-42-for-genesis-3-and-genesis-8-female.57658/post-3893992

It's a single post but it's extremely complete and the post author has been editing in updates sometimes.

It seems odd though for such a broad category to be only tracked in a single post on this entire forum, rather than say a thread, a search term (as I was looking for when I wrote this thread), or a tag.

edit: I'm double posting like this because I'm still hopeful to get a better answer than the one I found (otherwise I'd just delete my thread?)

I'm sure looking through each forum thread could be quite time consuming. There is a way of looking at the same list, but in a slightly different way by using the "Latest Release" page and swapping to the "Assets" tab. You can then filter by DAZ only assets and then further filter it to be only character models.

https://f95zone.to/latest/#/cat=assets/page=1/tags=2220/prefixes=33

Currently there are some 2000+ models, most of which are female. While some of the links may be out of date, it's usually possible to find at least one working link per asset.

It won't help with your specific "lookalike" requirement, but as you scroll through it - you might see face/bodies that you consider lookalikes, even if the original author didn't plan it that way. Plus there might be a few that are close enough, that they could be morphed to look a little more like specific people than they currently do. But I don't really know DAZ, so perhaps I'm being unrealistic.

The thing is, out of those 2000 threads, maybe 20-40 are what I'm looking for. Lookalikes seem to be quite rare (although a lot less rare now that I found
Enigior's list, it seems like Enigior did a lot of work to compile that list.) I think lookalikes are rare because stores won't sell them. So even CLEARLY obvious intentional lookalikes are named entirely incorrectly so that no one scrolling through a list will spot them (and so they won't get sue'd I guess.) It's really tough to look through a list for a target that is intentionally named incorrectly. Even the people posting the content to f95zone aren't always including the lookalike name (probably because they don't always know it.)

But well, I think this thread is worth existing, because if someone reads it, they can follow https://f95zone.to/threads/celebrity-series-42-for-genesis-3-and-genesis-8-female.57658/post-3893992 to Enigior's post, and it's quite a good post, but I'll double it, I found another post (in terms of listing all lookalikes, but it's a non-pirate post.)

Between those two lists, that's probably all the daz lookalikes, although, that still leaves all the VaM lookalikes left to find, I've found that and are patreon vam artists who work on look-a-like "look" asset packs. I am sure other patreon VaM look artists also make lookalikes, but as of yet, I haven't found any that I'm sure are focused on lookalikes.

Aaah the subject of look-a-likes, I went down that road, but, thank you for having the will to share your findings with us.

I personally ended up going with the Facegen Artist software, because I grew tired of not finding "The" look-a-like I wanted, but it came with a price, time consumption.

Having a library of links is super usefull, so thank you for sharing it with us lazy people.

Another point is that, as you mentioned, there seems to be alot more in the vam scene, but it's because they are mostly commissions, and for some reason it is done over there more readily. Different environments I guess. I don't understaind why, afterall, a vam character as you said is just a genesis 2 character.

My guess would be that transfering a character from g3/g8 to g2 is "relatively easy", but, the textures are a problem, so if you can do that, and if it's a public figure (for example an actor), then it could be worth someone's money, especially in VR. The thing is, it's not that hard, but I don't want to hijack your thread. I wanted to thank you.

So, thanks for sharing! (y)

I'm also trying to learn about facegen artist pro of course.

Any idea what I did wrong here?
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
But even this mediocre of an image of a celebrity is pretty rare. So I'm not sure where/how people find even clearer more neutral images of their celebrities? Any suggestions? It's so hard to find celebrities who have pulled their hair back, stared straight ahead into a camera, then not smiled, all at once. Two or three of these conditions are almost always not met when I'm scanning google images briefly.

edit: Still hunting for photos for facegen to use and my gosh do I hate smiles, smiles are what ruin 99% of the photos. All the photos without smiles tend to be terrible photos. I wish there was a software tool that could facegen off a photo with a smile in it, but I guess I understand why the smile is too confusing for the computer to grok.

I've gone down this path as well. AFAIK, the Daz3d forum celeb thread is probably the best source for "commercially available" look alike products. There are private commissions that are expensive and probably no better than the chars sold by Sangriart at renderosity.

What Daz3d forum does not allow are character tinkering of people posting combos using commercially based characters, morphs and textures to create look-alikes. I think Daz3d forum moderators often ban people posing pics "promoting" products from other stores. FaceGen output sharing is also not allowed on Daz3d forum. Some can be very good. Just by luck I've personally morph dialed one that was decent by accident. I've seen very good FaceGen stuff as well. There are many, many people who are doing this. You would think such therad should be popular, unfortunately, based on my expderience any forum where people tried to create such secret sauce sharing thread, whether it's Sims or Skyrim, always quickly degenerated into a showoff thread where those who post pics are unwilling to share their formula and even hostile to anyone even asked. Sad really but it's just the nature of how Internet is nowadays. The f95zone art showoff thread is probably the most friendly I've seen of people answering how-to inquiries and even on this site no such character sharing thread exists.

Here's a good start for you:

The first four pages should be all celebrity look-a-likes. Now I don't personally recognize them but then I don't follow the celebrity world so they could walk up to me on the street and I'd probably have no clue who they were.
