What's with the barrage of NTR/NTS games with AI art lately?

Blurring the Walls, My New Girlfriend, Moonripple Lake, Netorase Phone, Mila AI, Shadows of Ambition, just to name a few.
All of these are AI art games with a focus on NTR and NTS (also exhibitionism) released in the last few months. ALso all of them seem to have pretty good reviews.

Anybody have an idea why there are so many of these? I know AI makes making games a lot easier, but why are there so many in this specific genre?

NTR is always a top tag. For every popular AI NTR game you've seen there's probably a graveyard of thousands of failed games (non NTR too) no one is playing.

Assuming that games are often a sign of the times they are in and correlating that to the fact, that young(er) people than my generation have tremendous problems with dating and getting/holding on to a partner, the genre seems to simply reflect an environment many can relate to.

Um, most Japanese games have NTR and most western games have NTS. It's true that NTR is becoming popular in western games too but why? I don't know, I don't see the appeal of it.

I think that the whole A.I. thing has opened the gates for some developers that aren't very good at the art side of things. So as such, there are a lot more games coming out in general; also, let's be fair, there are some developers that are all about trend chasing, no shade thrown at them, so that may also factor.
