What's with the barrage of NTR/NTS games with AI art lately?

Blurring the Walls, My New Girlfriend, Moonripple Lake, Netorase Phone, Mila AI, Shadows of Ambition, just to name a few.
All of these are AI art games with a focus on NTR and NTS (also exhibitionism) released in the last few months. ALso all of them seem to have pretty good reviews.

Anybody have an idea why there are so many of these? I know AI makes making games a lot easier, but why are there so many in this specific genre?

NTR is always a top tag. For every popular AI NTR game you've seen there's probably a graveyard of thousands of failed games (non NTR too) no one is playing.

Assuming that games are often a sign of the times they are in and correlating that to the fact, that young(er) people than my generation have tremendous problems with dating and getting/holding on to a partner, the genre seems to simply reflect an environment many can relate to.

Um, most Japanese games have NTR and most western games have NTS. It's true that NTR is becoming popular in western games too but why? I don't know, I don't see the appeal of it.

I think that the whole A.I. thing has opened the gates for some developers that aren't very good at the art side of things. So as such, there are a lot more games coming out in general; also, let's be fair, there are some developers that are all about trend chasing, no shade thrown at them, so that may also factor.

I think the trend has continued even in recent months. I wonder if the numbers have grown further, or if it's just my own bias, but I found it very noticeable, so much so that I wanted to ask the very same question of this thread. Is it just becoming more popular, or is it that there aren't that many good games in the genre, so now that AI art is broadly available, everyone is making their own version they can actually enjoy?

This is also true, the bar for entry is now at an all time low. There is nothing wrong with trying to have a go at making a game, but the volume of half-assed games has sky rocketed

Worth noting that this number, both in absolute and in relative terms has doubled since November. It's even more drastic if you lower the threshold to 90 or 30 days.
Is it really? Trends go in cycles, as well as releases. Some titles have releases every other month, quite a few have releases about every 4-6 months, and a fair number have them 6+ months. We could check again in 6 months and see only 10 or see 108.

77 out of 21,129 total games is not the definition of barrage (0.36% - or 36 out of 10,000).
Nor is 77 out of the 4,740 games that had releases during the same period of time (1.62% - or 16 out of 1,000).
Note that I had narrowed the original query to "titles with releases in the last 180 days"

Neither are a concentrated attack over a wide area, nor are they a continuous streams of attacks (of the same content) - which is what a barrage is.

There are 108 titles total with the two tags - dating back to 2017.
10 are listed from 2022 and earlier (games most likely adding/converting over to AI CG, such as "Taffy Tales")
16 are listed from 2023
Sometime in 2023 is when we started seeing an uptick in the use of AI (as well as adding AI to previous titles).
49 are listed from 2024
33 are listed from 2025

46 of the 77 in the search result are new listings over the past 6 months.

If we extrapolate - about 141 games with the two tags will be listed in 2025 (edit: using the 33 in this year so far, not the 46 over past 6 months - which would extrapolate to 92), which is a huge bump-- but still not a barrage.

Using my previous counts from a different thread as a way to compare:
15 March 2023 to 14 Mar 2024 new games listed on F95:
3,491 total

15 Mar 2024 to [14 Mar 2025] new games listed on F95:
3,989 total
If numbers remain about 3,750 for uploaded new games to F95 for a calendar year:
3750 estimated new games for 2025
141 extrapolated new games with the two tags
3.76% of all games

While that is, again, a significant bump from previous - it is still far from a barrage. 1 game, on average, per page of Latest Updates would have both tags, together. 29 would not.

I appreciate you pointing out the increase. However, I disagree that it is worthy to note. It could be that the fall of 2025 will see an upsurge in AI CG and foot worship, with netorare tanking on the combined genres - we could also see netorare combination with AI CG increase. But unless we see an even more significant jump - a barrage it is not.

BNWO cultists & Blacked freaks, I am speaking this as a black person, I am part of a community that hunts them down.

Creating NTR games especially AI generated ones are one of the tactics of their movement.

Spamming AI and NTR content is their main tactic.
