Don't think there is another Thread about this. But I'm Wondering to all those who download game here on F95, do you use a IP mask to hide you IP when downloading the games or do you just download without care?

Why would you need to hide your IP? It's not like the government will sue your ass for downloading porn games.

I know people who got in trouble for downloading music illegally, so I don't see how this wouldn't be different from that.
I do download it freely, I was just curious if people use IP mask when they download and if large % of people here do it or not

How is this the same as downloading music illegally? The creators of the games that get posted here don't care that much about piracy that they'll get some copyright trolls to monitor torrent swarms or whatever. Seriously, you don't need to worry about it.

Personally, I don't really care. I just download everything (games, music, book etc..) from torrent and not, without using VPN or browsing anon. So don't worry and have fun!

Anyway, like you said, if you've problem it's because you used torrent or another P2P network, not because you used sharing platform as lewd, nopy, mega or the others.

I use many various forms of internet security and safeguards to ensure that games I download off the internet will most likely not adversely effect my system... Is it foolproof? Nothing is foolproof... There are several layers of safe, and none of them are 100%...
As to IP masking and so on, there are lots of commercial and non-commercial utilities available for instituting things like Virtual Private Networks to put your system behind... There are also various Firewall protections, both software and hardware... As well as other utilities, but it's all up to you on how far you want to go to nullify any sense of paranoia you may be having...
For downloading games off the internet, that are mostly made and managed by amateur developers and so forth... It really depends on their source, and your willingness to take a chance or not... I catch some games doing suspicious things now and then, and I very quickly put a stop to them, and permanently remove them from my system... Usually I then speak up about it here in these forums... But it is not a normal occurrence... Just every so often, and it's usually games that try to access the internet, which i will never allow for this industries games and/or visual novels...

I'm with @Zippity pretty much on all the points he makes. Personally I'm so used to having an encrypting VPN on that I don't really do anything without one.
If you want to go really crazy then rent a Windows VPS with Bitcoin from an anonymous offshore hosting provider, connect to it using some onion magic and download the games there for you to enjoy.
Worth the trouble and the $$$? Doubt it, but hey, satisfying paranoia is a great feeling.

If it's a free game, why bother masking when you are doing what the owner intends for you to do? It's no different than visiting adult sites and streaming pornography in my opinion.

same here and usually, the only people i find making much of a fuss when it comes to any form of piracy are moral busy bides. ugh...can't stand these types of people as once they get even the slightest moral high ground, they then proceed to use it to bash you over the head in effect and try to shame you into stopping.
as Raging GoldenEagle on youtube has said numerous time: it's better to just point out their BS for all to see instead of arguing with them.
or the anti-piracy people out there who will treat you like you're one of the worst criminals possible because you dared to get something without paying for it. (just an FYI but that's literally the only thing that separates those of us who download and emulate old games for free from the big companies like nintendo. we do it for free while they charge money to emulate the same games for us. stupid hypocrisy at its finest.)
i'd say over 90% of the people i've encountered on the internet over the past 10-15+ years don't care if anyone pirates stuff. or in the case of website staff, it's more of an unspoken rule to keep discussion of piracy limited to PMs...unless you're talking about it on a ROM site or something.
as for me...i've probably saved tens of thousands of dollars i don't and never had over the years thanks to torrent, ROM, and other sites such as this. so i say thank you very much to sites like this one since, without your presence, mine and the lives of countless others who aren't made of money would be leading some extremely boring lives.

i download petty weird music/porn/movies/games, so i'm not that scared of the copyright police.

speaking of jdownloader (sorry if talking about rom sites isn't allowed here, i'll edit this post if it isn't), never try to paste the link of a page like the "show all" page for MEME roms on emuparadise. lol you better be ready to sit there for a looong time while JDownloader tries to grab all of those links. like 30-40k+ links!
or even better. try using that Kick Ass javascript game on that page and watch your browser try to kill you AND your computer (if you do that with firefox).
might not be the longest page on the internet but that one sure is big.
edit: huh...not as bad as i thought with jdownloader. i figured it'd grab all the game downloads and try loading that mountain of links but the biggest thing it snagged was a twitter link with 600+ pics.

I only use a VPN when I've exceeded the download cap on MEGA. That resets everything. I'm not worried about anonymity on this site. For torrents however, I always use VPN.
