VN - Ren'Py - When It All Started [v0.04] [Kalyha]

The game would have gotten a higher score if the premise made more sense.

Robbers break into the house and force the mother to give a blowjob to the MC because one of the robbers IDs falls on to the floor. They record it as a "if you tell the police we were here we'll send this video to all your contacts" (they use the mothers phone to record it and take it with them) which is... stupid.

"Police, arrest that man they broke into our house!"
"you got any proof?"
"well, we saw their ID!"
"do you have it on you? or any other proof?"
"...no..."

So yeah, the whole premise of the blackmail doesn't hold up. But alright. Suspension of disbelief. The MC then goes on to say that he'll never let anyone hurt his mother or family again, but then proceeds to install hidden cameras to get nude photos to send to the robbers who force even more blackmail by saying "get us nudes and we'll delete the video".

The story would have been better off with one of the thugs going through the house stealing stuff while the other watched the mother and son, but got bored and then forced the mother to blow the MC at gun point, with no blackmail crap. From then on the story is about a budding immoral relationship with the MC and his family members.

What the story has now is borderline NTR not entirely just blackmail. So be warned if either is not to your taste. Especially since the blackmail isn't really the MCs doing, it's the robbers.

This developer is great at creating interesting situations. If you haven't played Restore her Career, I highly recommend it. Once you get used to the writing, it quickly becomes one of those games where you look forward to future updates.

Unfortunately, the developer isn't the best at executing the story. Again, in Restore her Career, it's not too much an issue because the MC just plows through the plot getting his needs met. It just works. In this game, however, you have lines and lines of... nothing. When you find yourself skipping through the dialogues, you know you're in need of serious editing.

I feel like this game was made because too many people complained the MC of the other game was a dick. But this isn't it. It's like you take the worst of Grandma's House and amplify it. There's nothing to engage you from the million lines of dialogue, and there is no payoff.

3/5 - because I'm still interested in how the story develops, not because how the game is right now (spoiler - basically no content), and because my faith in the developer hasn't been completely broken due to how awesome the other game is.

Alright, I've got to vent this out because I couldn't endure the entire game, but honestly, can you blame me?
Man, those first 20 minutes of dialogue were just UNBEARABLE! I couldn't even make it past that, seriously! We get it, the son's a total screw-up, and the mom's a frustrated bitch who tries for her family but both husb & son are two nobrainer. But it's like they kept hammering that in over and over, and it became excruciating to a point that you just "Fuck it, I had enough"!
I played "Restoring her Career," and despite some annoying bits, it was good. The main character was refreshingly different from the usual stuff, and the choices were all wild and crazy BUT it's a hentai game, that's what we expect sometimes right? We're looking for something out of the ordinary. No ones play a visual novel just for fapping, if that's only for it I could go straight to Geelboru damn it!

But this game (WIAS)... oh this game... Honestly, it felt like the worst 20 minutes of reading in my life. It felt like the game was intentionally trying to piss me off to a point that even Buddha would doubt. If you try to put yourself in the main character's shoes, you'll just feel awful. And to top it off, the main character himself is awful, he's fucking Slowpoke who get yealled at and never grow balls. Plus that face and hair of his... feels like a recycled character from five other games I've seen. I hate to say it, but I just couldn't handle it.

Sorry, developer. Your other project, "Restoring her Career," is genuinely good. But when it comes to this one, (WIAS) I'm sorry, but it's a total disaster. I'm so mad right now that I can't event enable skip function to try to see if it gets better. I'll give it 2 stars to not be unfair with your other game, but fuck, you should consider changing that shit start, for real...

Great game. There isnt much content yet, but the way the mom and the mc gets interacted with are really great and i cant wait to see more. tho it will probably take a long time due to this being another side project of the DEV and knowing his pacing, we will get teased to death and become old until the REAL fun begins to kick off.
TBH im not too much into the aunt for some reason.. maybe its her design? I dont know. I would be REALLY happy if there comes more of mom and sisters, and NOT MUCH of the aunt at least.
Nonetheless, great game. I wish both games would be further already. too bad, creating quality content takes time.

So many unnecessary stuff like the ... Or the aaw or the hmms and sighs. A lot of the dialogue is redundant. Also sometimes the characters are just illogical. Some of the illogical stuff I could forgive but sometimes I just couldn't wrap my head around why they act like that, even if I try to reach so far for the reasoning. It makes the MC way more annoying. I've played a lot of games in the past and this is the first one that actually made me want to either skim through the story fast or stop playing altogether after just a few minutes of playing. The intro is probably the most important part of these types of games and it just felt too annoying to continue.

Game is good plus story and characters its deeper than other game but for me feels little risky because of blackmail thing.

Obeying to blackmailer is little stupid and moronic because that person not gonna stop so its really risky unless Author does something to makes this blackmail story better because we need that.Still we gonna do things because of blackmail well thats good not gonna lie i can bite that but like what i said before its risky and thats makes this good story for now little dumb.

I am not gonna lie i really liked this game plus start was good characters good too scenes good too for now one blowjob and many ero scenes but with play time thats okay tease is good but really that blackmail thing is little distasteful i am not gonna lie because if they go to police and report them or even track them because you know they using moms phone so and do something before they release video you know this way is smarter but still i understand if blackmail goes thats means that theres no more sex with mom so i can understand that.

Other than that theres no problem here really everything is good and interesting like your father is good person and your uncle is good person too for now like in other series always your father is asshole and same for uncle too because of that you dont feel bad when you bang your mother or aunt and for your sister hmm yeah that sisters boyfriend is %100 dumb/cocky than asshole thats good too not like other games.

Story is good really good with all with this things if Author handles well this is gonna be good game and i cant wait too play more i wanna say big thanks to Author for this amazing games.

I played the 0.03 version and I really really enjoyed it (Emily is my fav ). I liked the plot so far (I would have acted different after the thiefs event than mc did but nothing too bad). It has a lot of teasing and slowly progression but it makes it better IMO, I would not be playing a VN if I just want action.

such a great premise. thieves force mother and son to have sex (only bj) and she was molested in front of him. and somehow this great story is utterly destroyed by the terrible and way too long writing. i think when they decided to do the deed (to give bj) they still had like 40 sentences of pretend-protests.

typical case of less is more. it's not enough that the writing is terrible but it even gets annoying because it just delays the action so much it destroys any reality in the game. usually porn suspends reality in favour of porn, but this game does the opposite, and suspends reality to avoid porn for longer. absolute garbage.

plus the game is very short so far. i can't even rate the potential higher after what i've seen. this game would have been better with 1/10 of dialogue... hell it would be 10 times better with no dialogue at all. just the pictures of mother-son incest and thieves forcing them with a gun would be way more hotter than any garbage text which was put there.

a shame how huge this game flopped with such great premise.
the reason for high ratings are probably due to the great premise, but due to terrible execution there is no way it deserves more than max 2/5

It's still early in development (0.02), but this title promises a great experience in future. The plot sets the stage for an excellent build-up of corruption and the women are very attractive, which should lead to a rewarding experience once the characters reach the tipping points of their corruption.
Great job, dev! Keep going with the direction and quality you have done so far and this should be a great title!

This is pretty good!
Dialogues aren't bad, renders as well. The mom is super hot and beautiful. A little bitchy too, always helps
I like the trigger for the naughty stuff, it's quite brutal but it was exciting and does allow for a more natural progression to the dirty stuff later on.
I just have one gripe with the game, it's stupid I know... But I find gratting the misuse of "Awww". It's used when you find something cute "Aww, what a cute kitten". Or when you are kind of let down "Aww.. I spilled the soup".
Here it should be "Haaa....." or something. A little annoying but it's used every 3 sentences so it builds up.
Other than that, pretty good so far, can't wait for more .

An average game with potential (5 to 3 stars).

Pros:
The main LI look good and are unique. Some may not like the mom and MC, but they are improving so far.
Story is good and interesting. It will be fun to see how the relationships play out.
Graphics are good.

Cons:
Some scenes border NTR

MC is a wimp that continues to give in blackmail even if that blackmail makes no sense. This is a huge drawback to the game and made the game much worse. The MC needs to man up or at least tell his mom about the situation so that they can get out of it fast.

The game doesn't have much content yet but solid bones.

Like Kalyha other game this is also high quality with good renders. With the new Version v0.02 we finally got to the real beginning of the story and I have high hopes for the game, but knowing Kalyha it will most likely be another banger.

Thief breaking into house is an amazing NTR arc.

This second releas is what the v0.01 should have been.
We got an introduction to the characters with a love and depravity system, we got some coices and interaction with all the female family memebers and a nice sex scene to finish off the update.
The strenghts of this game are how the characters and their motivations play off of each other, especially in the erotic scenes. I like that we get to know the characters better and on a deeper level whenever they engage in "sexual" activities, thats how it should be in my book.

Yes the story isn't shakespearian or extremely logically sound, but for what the game is, the story works. There is a clear path for erotics , we are on it and I like it a lot.

If I don't see the sex scenes I can't tell much... but I completely loved the other dev game and I place my trust in him that we'll see an almost amazing game. I Liked the dialogue-teaser between Victoria and the MC. I hope good things will happen.

Im a big fan of Restore Her Career, because of its true slow burn pace of corruption established especially with the mom.

When It All Started has the foundational slow burn story to be just as good as Restore Her Career, the model for the mom might be one of the most well made milf models i have ever seen. I like how the corruption story currently hinted at, is heading down a different path from Restore My Career, so the story is fresh and im excited to see what the developer has in mind for this great story so far.

If you expect quick fap game, please do skip this one (both regarding playing and "reviewing" it).
Otherwise, it has some pretty decent buildup for future progression. Good corruption games are fairly hard to find, and this looks like it could be one of those gems.
