About the Game:
Synopsis:
The main character, Elias (renameable), lives in a small English city with a significant Eastern European diaspora. He is half-English and half-Georgian. His childhood friend, Julianne, grew up in a brothel, as her mother, Miranda, was a prostitute. Julianne has an older sister, Magnolia, who is five years her senior. Elias' other childhood friends include Dan, a seemingly serious boy with a mischievous streak, and Alisa, a shy and quiet girl two years younger than him.
Elias' father is a stern, no-nonsense Georgian businessman who owns a chain of markets in the city. When Elias turns 15, he is sent to the United States to attend a private school and then an Ivy League college. However, after some time, he drops out and attempts to make a living on his own. During this time, he stays in touch with his sister, who later informs him that Julianne has also left the city.
Elias' attempt at independent living ends in failure, leading to a heated argument with his father. Eventually, he is compelled to return home at 20 and accept a trainee role at one of his father’s stores. Upon his return, he meets Julianne at the airport. She explains that she has come back because her mother has passed away.
Julianne’s return sparks tension with Magnolia, who harbours deep resentment toward her younger sister. Magnolia had to take on their mother’s work as a prostitute to cover expenses while Julianne was away, a burden that has left her bitter. Overwhelmed with guilt, Julianne struggles to figure out her next steps.
Elias' relationship with his father deteriorates further, and he decides to attempt living independently once more. At this juncture, Dan presents him with an unusual opportunity: to enrol at the university where Dan’s mother serves as the dean, with all expenses covered. Elias accepts and, in doing so, reunites with Alisa, who has seemingly undergone significant changes since their childhood.
Now, Elias must navigate university life, rekindle his friendship with Alisa, and make sense of Julianne’s troubling situation. She is on the verge of working at the brothel, though not by selling her body. At least, not yet.
