So what you are saying is she should have broken up her relationship over a kid that had nothing to do with her?

Also remember that nobody, not even Elaine, knew how much the dad was worth. When they got together he wouldn't have had all that money and they had been together for a long time.

I've seen a few of you say she bullied him but no evidence of that in game. Most of what's made out is she was cold and ignored him. There is absolutely no evidence of any cruelty.
Well what is kicking him out of his home with only the clothes on his back ,no money and no place to go after his Father just died then ?

Monica is the second gold digger. Everyone in the will has some conditions so what if her condition was to take the MC in and keep him around until his condition is forefeit and then she must kick him to the curb once she has his share? This could be a cruel punishment by the MCs dad for not following his orders and being soft. Remember how the dad said that he made sure that you wont get anything if you stay in contact with her, the same can apply to her too if she doesn't break up contact with you after she fulfills the first part of her condition. She was very persistent about you staying to live with her and the girls. She is also obviously in need of cash because her business is going down under. It has been 8 years since you moved away, people grow distant in that amount of time plus it is a pretty big sum of money so she might do this to you. If she can secure that money for her and her daughters they are pretty much set for life.

I've just checked the conversation there, it doesn't say she left him with no money when Katie asks him he stutters and the conversation gets changed.

All he says is she made it clear he wasn't welcome, that's a big difference than being thrown out. He could have gone back but it would have been awkward.

He could have went back because she didn't have the legal right to throw the Fathers only child out of his home . Not unless it was stated in the will which wasn't read at that time.

He was mean to everyone.
Isn't that worse? I don't see where you're going with this line of reasoning.

People fall for all kinds, shit there are people that love their partner even if they are physically and mentally abusive towards them.
Okay, but contrary to the popular saying, all is not fair in love and war. You don't get carte blanche to do whatever you want just because you're in love with someone. She knew that it was wrong to treat the kid the way that they did, but she did it anyway. She doesn't get to absolve herself of wrongdoing just because she did it for a guy she liked.

Did you also replay the part where she sends you an email?

Elaine: "Thanks for moving out without much fuss. I hope you understand it's for the best.
Elaine: " I Hope you found somewhere to stay..."
MC: "(Hmm, sounds like she is being nicer than usual....)"
Elaine: "But please don't think you can come back if you are having trouble finding somewhere.
Elaine: "I want to be very clear. This is no longer your home and you are not welcome here."
MC: "(Yep, that's the bitch I remember.)"
Elaine: "Please let me know your new address ASAP and I'll ship the rest of your stuff. I don't want it in my house."
Elaine: "If I don't hear from you in three days, I'll assume you don't want it and it will go in the trash."
MC: "(Fucking bitch)"

Then later in the game Bella shows up to deliver some of your things that she pulled out of the trash.

MC: "Hi Bella. What are you doing here?"
Bella: "I'm sorry, I didn't want to cause trouble. I eh... I have some of your stuff here. I noticed that Elaine had put it in the trash, and I... I felt bad for you, so I wanted to drop it off here, rather than let Elaine dump it."
MC: "She dumped it already? I was going to collect it tomorrow. What a fucking b.... eh... bad thing to do! I cannot believe she'd do that!"
Bella: "It's OK, you can call her a bitch. She's my sister, so I'm not going to badmouth her... but I understand it if you want to. I cannot defend what she did with you and your house... and now.. your stuff..."

So, I think him trying to return home would be more than just awkward.

Her own words:

"There really is no other way to describe it. I kicked you out of your own home. As soon as your dad died. Even saying those words. It's...What I did was despicable!"

I can only guess the dev has possibly done research into coercive control and how much one person can control anothers life.

The dad clearly falls into the category of a manipulator.

I don't believe for a second she binned his stuff, I think that's Bella stirring the pot.

Lol. You really think that everything between the MC and Monica is just faked by her?
Nope, not happening.

So you're willing to go to absurd lengths to somehow justify Elaine's behaviour and absolve her of any wrongdoing, but Bella who was always friendly and nice to the MC, back when his father was still alive is somehow this scheming monster who plots against her sister, DESPITE Elaine herself telling the MC how much Bella has done for her AND that she also criticized her (Elaine's) behaviour in front of her?

Hey, I get that you like Elaine, but that's stretching it.

I was blind but now I see. You are just stirring the pot having a little fun with us. :D
Took you long enough.

While I do think there is more to the story between Elaine, Bella and the MC's dad I wouldn't blindly defend abuse but it does make me wonder who's hiding what.

I do think Bella is shifty though.

Just for the record I haven't played this update yet so haven't seen Elaine.

I'm on a new rig so had to start again, only got to day part 10, I think, just after the date with Jenna.

I wasn't entirely trolling, people are putting a lot of focus on Elaine when she's already front and centre to get some of the money, it's the third that's the problem and for all we know it well could be Bella.

It doesn't take much to say one thing to someones face while bending over and taking the D from her man while she's not around. Of course everyone thinks she's nice, a manipulative person would be doing a shit job if everyone thought she was a bitch.

Elaine is a bitch but I feel like Bella is gonna be the antagonist. Impersonating Monica at the cafe and sending bitchy emails from Elaines computer to MC could make sense. Then telling Elaine to hold back on contacting MC so she could put her claws into him meanwhile. It sure feels like shes playing a game of sorts.

Again, she was friendly to the MC, BEFORE anything in regards to money and wealth was known. He told Katie about her and had no negative word to say.
Also, how is a young woman impersonating the mom of someone who is probably just 5-8 younger than her?

It's not that I particularly like Bella, she seems boring, but I don't see any actual chance for her to be the antagonist.

That's how manipulative people act. They don't act bitchy, that's the opposite of manipulative.

Bella acts too nice, something is going on there.

I mean, Bella is obviously crazy. The fact that MC keeps going in raw dog and not pulling out is somewhat vexing.

The MC was young when he moved back in with his Dad and Elaine . So i'm sure Bella and him became friends at an early age . She really is the only friend he had there. I think they became close over the years and she had a crush on him. She let it out that she loved him in this episode and I really think she does. She might be as bad as people on here is making her out to be . But so far I just don't see it .
