Hi all. For a very long time, I've been thinking of creating a game. I would say years, but I never dived into it too deeply. Or never find the will looking for a new game to fap was easy I guess :). I'm thinking of making the game in RPG Maker MV. Which I know about how the things are running in it. Not every single bit, but creating events and triggering others, etc. But at the same time, most people enjoy the Renp'y engine and I'm a bit confused in picking one of those two.

For the render engine I tried Koikatsu, COM2 and Daz. For me customizable genitalia is the furthest important thing. Only Daz enables to do so from my experience. What are your thoughts?

Well. If you are looking for the biggest audience then Renpy would be your best bet as a LOT of ppl, me included immediately discard the idea of downloading whenever we see RPG Maker as engine. In regards to the rendering, as far as I have observed it generally don't matter quite as much as long as you create good looking characters and a compelling story.

Renpy is good for VNs, RPGMaker is good for RPGs. Depends on the type of game you want to make. For render engine, the answer is easy if you want to release the game on steam, it's daz only. If no steam, it depends on the style you want. Koikatsu is extremely customizable, you just have to learn how to use the material editor.

I completely agree on Koikatsu as a good renderer. The only issue I have with that engine is that i personally dont like the artstyle. I know that the majority of ppl will disagree to that though and that should give you an incentive to use it.
As Insomniac states though, if you want the most exposure and thus the most potential spread then DAZ is the only real option for rendering. If you are however seeking the largest spread and not a financial gain then Koikatsu is a good choice albeit not as good as DAZ in regards to potential monetary gain and general audience.
(Edit, Fixed my shitty spelling and grammar)

Well, I guess it's most likely gonna be an RPG for me, but even I can't deny the fact that RPGs can kill the flow of the game a lot. Right implemented events and a good paced story is a different case though but to come across with games like those are very rare. I want to make a game like VH, but the immense coding and the possible bugs you may need to deal is a bit scary to be honest. Such as adding add-ons and each add-on has its own rule set that you must follow.

For the render engine, I don't mind releasing the game on the steam or not, I'm not that into the money stuff probably would be better of with a patreon though, but my main issue is that all the engines that I've mentioned and adding honey select to it which ı forgot in the first place, they all lack again the customizable female and male genitalia which seeing the same stuff over and over again kinda kills the fun for me. And I'm sure for many out there.

I speak from experience when I say it's really not as bad as you say. Just keep QOL in mind.

But you can customize it in HS and KK? You just need to learn how to use the bone and material editors.
