Which is the Superior Aesthetic for a Sex Game? (2D / 3D / RL)

I'm curious to know where everyone's preferences regarding sex game aesthetics are. Not necessarily on any specific art style, mind you.

I, for example, generally prefer 2D styles as opposed to 3D and RL. Now there's plenty of 2D games I won't play because the art is bad (imo), but in general I don't find a lot of 3D games or games with 3D character models that look all that appealing. They usually fall into that ditch in the Uncanny Valley and make me "NOPE!" out pretty damn quickly. And a lot of RL stuff used in games generally doesn't follow a consistent standard of quality, at least from what I've played, so that always nags at a corner of my attention too much to fully enjoy any game that uses them.

I'm not too much into anime styles but otherwise I'm fine with all approaches.

When I first started paying adult VNs I avoided 3DCG. By that time I had seen so many badly made 3d porn animations the style seemed kinda 'cheap' to me. But at some point I realized how much great content I was missing out on and that there are games with really well made 3d renders.

So nowadays it simply depends more on the quality of the art than the style for me.

And that in turn is trumped by the quality of the writing. I'm fine with a game that doesn't look as good but still manages to pull me in with an interesting story, believable characters, good build-up of sexual tension and so on...

Most of my favorites happen to be non-Japanese 2D. I don't seek out specific artstyles, what I care about are the fetishes. But the fact is that specific software is mainly used for specific styles of games, and 3D is mainly for incest harem VNs and "sandbox" games. While 2d is more often in games that have gameplay, but the anime stuff is usually rapey and censored. Then again, my top 2 games are both exceptions to the rule (one 2d anime, the other HS2), but I discovered both of them during times of particular content drought, when there was nothing else that seemed remotely appealing.

I'm fine with most stuff but I'm not that big of a fan games that just grabs random images and/or videos of the web, regardless of whether it's RL or other formats, I prefer consistency in appearance and art style. As a bonus, any art made specifically for the game is far more likely to actually match what is going on in the game than some random images grabbed of the web

I really care more about how thicc the women are than the platform. which incidentally means the japanese style 2D is off the table 99% of time. but it's not because they're 2D but because the girls have rule 7 bodies. I'm absolutely fine with 2D when the females look like Women, but for some reason that's far more common in 3D.

I like RL as reference and only softcore.
I don't like RL porn out of principle: maybe an actual couple is fine?
It's mainly for... research purposes... and head-canon.

2D and 3D have their own unique benefits and detriments in arenas outside of porn.
Compare Berserk 2D and 3D.

For still-image porn games, I prefer 3D in general, but 2D can have some very inspired images.

2D can have much more artistic liberty and emphasize situations and emotions very well.
These guys tend to be the masters of juicy pussy.

3D can be more efficient and realistic.
These guys tend to be the masters of realistic characters and settings.

I'm not a fan of 3D unless the art is REALLY good. As far as RL porn games... how does that even work? I think the only one like that I've ever seen is Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. As far as I was aware that idea was pretty much completely left in the dust without ever really leaving the "bizarre experiment" phase.

I like switching it up and I've always been like that, I fapped to western, eastern cartoons, real life stuff and 3D stuff of both sides of the world. But I don't really like "real life" visuals in games because they're just reused assets from porn that I've either already watched or didn't want to watch in the first place. Using original real life assets is too much work for small budget releases that most of the games here are.

Honestly, anything can work as long as it's fun to play and the lewds are well made.
