Hi!
Recently I decided to revamp my game's cover art to make it look more appealing.
I'd like to get some feedback on the before and after so I made a voting poll.
I created a similar poll on my Subscribestar as well, but I want to get as much feedback as I can .
For a cover image I think A is a little too cluttered with characters and some aspects look a little odd from a distance (like the arm under the main guy's armpit or the sheen from the other guys glasses). B definitely looks a lot cleaner and I like the the pose more.
B. Red dress plus background looks very good. A is cluttered with 5 chars, A isn't bad, through i think it needs more contrast, deeper shadows and lighter colors, like make the glass guys eyes shine a bit so they seem more intimidating.
Between those 2 i would say B looks better but honestly I would say neither works.
Image A has a lot of odd details: the glasses, the arm that made me look multiple times before I realized that there is another character behind main guy, the expressions are weird on all characters and the poses do not fit well together IMO.
B looks good, clean and simple buuut for a game called "Cabin Corpse" it is not telling much. All the info you get out of B is: there is some woman and the dev liked the color red for this game.
Despite being odd A gives a bit more info: a larger cast, a serious tone, a mistery vibe.
A.
It gives me this sense of 'things going on', from the multiple characters, to the shadow figure with a hand curling up around the main character.
The B image, just says 'hey look, a sexy woman, buy this game'. It doesn't give me any sense of the game, just that there is some sexy woman in red ... and that's it.
