In RPG Maker 95, a tile is a 32x32 image. In RPG Maker 2000 and 2003, tiles are 16x16 pixels in size. In RPG Maker XP, VX, and VX Ace, tiles are 32x32 pixels in size, and in RPG Maker MV, tiles are 48x48 pixels in size. RPG Maker MZ supports 16, 24, 32, and 48 pixel tiles (the RTP is still 48x48).

online copies of eulas for mz and mv only allow the use of stock assets in the engine they come with (rpgmakerweb community manager stated that they should be usable between all rpg maker engines and this is a mistake in the wording that'll be fixed, but that was several years ago and i see no change regarding this) edit: see below

This was changed "recently" (last year), allowing the usage of stock assets in non-rpgmaker engines, provided one owns the corresponding engine delivering the stock materials.

Sadly they never updated the EULA's and instead communicated this through their japanese-only channels, for which again, the online official statement in the english-speaking community is a post by the the western RPGMaker team in a singular forum thread opened by a user asking for clarification.
