So I just went to start this game, but there doesn't seem to be a way in the options menu to have it accept your changes and return to the game...just a cancel key. Any advice?

Well apart from the graphics there was h-scenes before. The remake don't have any at all, gameplay-wise it's the same

Neat and all, not going to besmirch a studio for wanting to separate themselves from the porn industry,

(though it often happens less because the studio views porn as lesser and they "matured" and more so because porn has a lot of financial risks and commercial hurdles attached to it, good to get your foot in the door but bad if you want to go mainstream.)

I however like my romance with sex personally so is it possible for us the got the original while album with the R18 content here to sit alongside the SFW remaster?

not entirely sure if this is the case currently but as far as i remember the original white album was never translated to english... could be 100% wrong though.

According to vndb the steam release received an update at some point, after which it cannot be upgraded with the Restoration patch

I'm not sure, but I believe it has not been updated there since the day it was released on Steam
